Two ancient temples namely Keshavraj and Vyaghreshwar which are cocooned by the dense surroundings and gushing streams provide a pleasant spot to the tourist.
Murud & Karade:
Silent and secluded places like Murud and Karade situated near Dapoli epitomize the real beauty of the town. With palm-fringed beaches and greenery all around, Murud and Karade are the must visit spots near Dapoli. Popularly known for Durga Devi Mandir, Dolphin-spotting and parasailing are two activities to entertain the guests.
Anjarle:
Feel the real beauty of the village in Anjarle. The 'Kadyavarcha Ganapati' known as the Ganapati of Hill offers spiritual bliss while the pristine beaches offer a soothing holiday. Food enthusiast can have gala time during fish auction that takes place in Harnai every evening.
Ladghar:
Red Sea- If you want to watch the fascinating sunset, then 'Tamas Teerth' is the place to be. One can see the beautiful shades and also get a holy feel with a bath in the holy waters of the sea.
Dabhol Port:
Thousand year old ancient rock cut caves designed in a very intricate manner offer a pleasing site to the tourists.
Panhalekaji Caves/ Unhavare Hot Water Springs:
Ancient, rock cut caves believed to be more than a thousand years old are a treat to architecture lovers. Hindu and Buddhist sculptures cover the walls. These caves are located on the banks of the Kotjai river. Upstream this river, situated amidst a picturesque valley, you can bathe in natural hot springs. The water is believed to have medicinal value to cure some skin diseases.

Proceeding towards Dapoli, we stopped at Harnai Beach (Ratnagiri District) is popular for Fish Auction timing - Morning - 8 am to 10 am & 4 pm to 6 pm. Within half a km of the vicinity, there are 4 forts Fateh durg, Suvarna Durg, Kanak durg which you can see.
Lunch at Nisarg resort - Tomato Chutney - Rs 100 & Baingan Masala - Rs 120
We also visited Murud Beach, Karde Beach & Ladghar Beach. At Ladghar beach there was a Pears Homestay - Rs 2800 with AC // Rs 1800 without AC

To reach Velneshwar, one needs to reach Dabhol Jetty then it takes about 10 minutes to reach Dhopave Jetty on a ferry.
Rs 190 for Car, 45 minutes service, Service starts from 06:30 am to 10 pm, Ferry Ticket - Rs 16 per person ticket, Car Loading - Rs 190.
We travelled about 33 km from Dhopave jetty to our hotel in velnaeshwar.

Located a little over 200 kilometres from Mumbai, Dapoli is a small city surrounded by coconut and palm trees. Dapoli is located in the northern part of the district of Ratnagiri, in the Konkan region of Maharashtra, and is a popular beach destination. In addition to the many coconut farms that are scattered in Dapoli, the city also has numerous scenic beaches, which offer beautiful views of the seashore and the natural landscapes. Dapoli is a treasure trove of sightseeing attractions, and has something to offer to all kinds of tourists. From pristine beaches and historical structures, to ancient temples, mesmerising caves and age-old forts, the city has a lot to explore. Murud-Dapoli Beach
At a distance of 11 km from Dapoli, 12 km from Anjarle, 69 km from Chiplun, Murud-Dapoli Beach is a serene beach situated near Dapoli in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. Located between Hernai and Karde beaches, it is one of the most visited beaches in Maharashtra, and among the must-visit places as part of Chiplun Tour.
Commonly called Murud-Harnai, Murud is a small town located on the rugged Konkan coastline. A long, scenic stretch of Murud Beach with swaying palms is the main attraction here. Murud Beach is made of very soft sand and is safe for swimming. The sunset at the beach is mesmerizing and makes up for the most picture-perfect moment in this destination. Activities like parasailing, dune buggy rides, camel rides, horse-cart rides, and water scooters are available. Dolphin watching boats leave early in the morning to take tourists out into the sea to watch dolphins. One can also dig into some local food items at the many eateries at the beach.
There is also an ancient Durga Devi temple near Murud Beach, which was built in the 18th century. The wooden carvings of the temple are worth watching. A large bell hangs above the left side of the entrance. It is said that after winning the battle of Vasai, Chimaji Appa - the great Maratha warrior had brought that bell from one of the churches. The temple also has a lovely pond with refreshingly cold water behind.

Here fish are sell on auction bases. Customer has to bargain with seller to get the best price. The rates for small basket is around 300rs and for containers it's approx 12000 - 17000/_ . Its truly a best place for all the fish lovers. There are wide range and varieties of fishes from small to big. This auction is held twice a day , once at morning at 8am and second time in evening around 3pm. All the fish lovers must visit this place if you are in Dapoli for vacation.

At a distance of 11 km from Dapoli, 12 km from Anjarle, 69 km from Chiplun, Murud-Dapoli Beach is a serene beach situated near Dapoli in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. Located between Hernai and Karde beaches, it is one of the most visited beaches in Maharashtra, and among the must-visit places as part of Chiplun Tour.
Commonly called Murud-Harnai, Murud is a small town located on the rugged Konkan coastline. A long, scenic stretch of Murud Beach with swaying palms is the main attraction here. Murud Beach is made of very soft sand and is safe for swimming. The sunset at the beach is mesmerizing and makes up for the most picture-perfect moment in this destination. Activities like parasailing, dune buggy rides, camel rides, horse-cart rides, and water scooters are available. Dolphin watching boats leave early in the morning to take tourists out into the sea to watch dolphins. One can also dig into some local food items at the many eateries at the beach.
There is also an ancient Durga Devi temple near Murud Beach, which was built in the 18th century. The wooden carvings of the temple are worth watching. A large bell hangs above the left side of the entrance. It is said that after winning the battle of Vasai, Chimaji Appa - the great Maratha warrior had brought that bell from one of the churches. The temple also has a lovely pond with refreshingly cold water behind.

Konkan region (or Coastal Maharashtra) is renowned for its coastal roads that are popular for a drive all through the year for self-drive cars, bikers, and cycling. The roads do not have much traffic, there are some spectacular viewpoint enroute and lush green countryside with a rural backdrop remains all through.

Hello Guys, Welcome to another beautiful fort of Ch.Shivaji Maharaj. Today we will be visiting one of the sea fort of Ch Shivaji Maharaj named as Suvarnadurg. its a fort that is located between Mumbai and Goa on a small island in the Arabian Sea, near Harnai in Konkan, along the West Coast of India, in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Mumbai is at a distance of 230 kilometres (140 mi) from Harnai. Harnai, located in a rocky bay, has an all-weather road that connects to Dapoli and Khed. The road distances to other nearby forts and towns are: Bankot-Anjarle-Harnai: 23 kilometres ; Dapoli-Harnai: 16 kilometres; and Anjarle-Harnai: 7 kilometres. The only approach to the fort is by boats, from Harnai. Boats have to be arranged through the local fishermen. It is a port of call for coastal steamers and thrives on fishing as a major marketing centreThe fort also includes another small land fort called the Kanakadurga at the base of the headland of Harnai port on the coast. Building of the fort is credited to Shivaji Maharaj, founder of the Maratha Empire, in 1660. Subsequently, Shivaji, other Peshwas and the Angres further fortified the forts for defence purposes. The literal meaning of Suvanadurga is Golden Fort as it was considered as the pride or the feather in the golden cap of Marathas. Built for the Maratha Navy for defence purposes, the fort also had a shipbuilding facility. The basic objective of establishing the fort was to counter enemy attacks, mainly by the colonialists of Europe and also by the local chieftains. Hope you like this video.
