Postanowiliśmy spędzić weekend w Amsterdamie pomimo tego, że akurat weszły nowe ograniczenia i większość miejsc musi być zamknięta do godziny 18:00, a sklepy spożywcze, restauracje i bary do godziny 20:00. Pomimo tego, ze zamknęli nam Amsterdam o 20:00, to świetnie się tam bawiliśmy, bo w dzień nie widać tam, aby cokolwiek się działo.
Amsterdam nie bez powodu nazywają miastem grzechu. Jest tam czerwona dzielnica, w której wiadomo kto co robi, ale są też pokazy, że tak powiem, kopulacji na żywo... Na każdym kroku czuć zapach trawy i co kilkaset metrów jest albo coffieshop, albo smartshop. W tych drugich można kupić grzybki i inne tego typu wynalazki.
Ale Amsterdam to nie tylko te grzeszne rozrywki. To także piękne miasto z wieloma atrakcjami. Znajduje się tam 75 różnych muzeów, a wśród nich muzeum Van Gogh'a albo Rembranta.
W Amsterdamie znajdziecie też wiele innych atrakcji, jak na przykład Look Out - czyli wielka huśtawka ustawiona na krawędzi wieżowca.
W Amsterdamie jest też muzeum figur woskowych Madame Tussaud.
W tym odcinku znajdziecie tylko niektóre atrakcje Amsterdamu które warto zobaczyć i zwiedzić spędzając tutaj weekend, albo chociażby wpadając tutaj na jeden dzień.

Incredible Architecture The Moses Bridge
The Moses Bridge ('Mozezbrug') is at Fort de Roovere near Halsteren, the Netherlands. The designers, RO&AD Architecten, decided that it would be inappropriate to build a bridge over the historic moat. Instead they constructed a practically invisible, mostly submerged bridge. The bridge is called The Moses Bridge due to it seeming to divide the waters of the moat

Today we're in West Brabant, it's about two hours outside of Amsterdam and we've come to visit an unusual architectural marvel called the Moses bridge. That's one thing to know, this Moses Bridge is in the middle of nowhere it also means there's hardly any tourists which is great.
The Moses Bridge was built in 2010. It's not well known so people don't know that it's here. We will tell them now of course. It will be the next tourist discovery. We had to Google search this one. It's a little bit of a hidden gem. Very much so. Is it a hidden gem?
It's a bridge that they've built which is kind of submerged so it looks like you have parted the waters which is really amazing. Hence the name Moses Bridge. So right now, I'm below the water level and as you go up you can see the water is at this level. So it's kind of just above waist height.

-I think it's very mesmerising to be honest.
-No, not how do you find it, how did you find it?
Don't you love though, that on a clear day it's like a mirror image.
That was cool right? -Unbelievable!
We'll be coming back again right? No we won't be coming back again. It's really amazing. It's so nice. Unfortunately it's not easy to get to so I don't think we'll be coming back again. But if you get the chance to come out here, then it's well worth doing. Right? Ja, and maybe we'll discover something else next.

The Moses Bridge | The Sunken Bridge in Netherlands
The Moses Bridge is located in Netherlands, were built over the West Brabant Water Line during the 17th century Dutch defensive line that was created by linking cities and villages with earthen fortresses and walls. An inundation zone to the north provided an area that could be flooded with water deep enough to make enemy advance on foot precarious but shallow enough to rule out the effective use of boats. The line once successfully held Spain and France invaders at bay. Fort de Roovere, the largest fort on the line requited the addition of an access bridge. The fort is surrounded by a moat and was originally built without a bridge so it was a challenge to create one that would be discreet. This bridge was build by two Architects AD KIL and RO KOSTER, and 'sunken' bridge what follows the line of the fort slope and sits almost flush with the soil and the level of the water. making it practically invisible as you approach the fort. The Accoya wood is used for sheet piling on either side, with a hardwood deck/stairs in between.

In the recent years, the fort has been renovated and a bridge was built to access the fort across its moat. The designers of the bridge felt it would be inappropriate to build a bridge over the moat so instead decided to construct a partially submerged bridge deeming it practically invisible. A bridge that has taken on the name The Moses Bridge as it appears to have divided the moat's waters. This design allows people to cross virtually undetected from water level except for a few bobbing heads. Its construction is made entirely of wood and waterproofed with foil.

The city was built on a place where two types of soil meet: sandy soil and marine clay. The sandy soil pushed against the marine clay, accumulating and forming hills over several centuries. People called those hills the Brabantse Wal, literally meaning wall of Brabant. Zoom refers to the border of this wall and bergen in Dutch means mountains or hills. The name has nothing to do with the little channel the ‘Zoom’ which was later built through Bergen op Zoom.
