Best Places in Alsace

Alsace is located in the east of France, right on the German border between the Vosges mountains and the Upper Rhine. With an area of approx. 8280 km², it is the smallest region in France. The administrative center is Strasbourg. Over the course of history, this region has changed its political classification several times. The official language is French, but many inhabitants still understand and speak German. Besides Strasbourg, well-known towns and municipalities include Colmar, Riquewihr, Haguenau and Ribeauville. Alsace stands for beautiful half-timbered houses, wine-growing villages, vineyards, rich art treasures - especially in Strasbourg and Colmar - and not least for culinary delicacies such as tarte flambée and Gugelhupf. And not forgetting the dry white wines, such as Edelzwicker. #alsace #france #bestplaces

Best Christmas Markets in Alsace - France (4K)

Wonderful CHRISTMAS in ALSACE, France.

Alsace is a historical region in northeastern France on the Rhine River plain. Bordering Germany and Switzerland, it has alternated between German and French control over the centuries and reflects a mix of those cultures. Its capital, Strasbourg, is centered on the Ill River’s Grand Île island, bordered by canals and home to the Gothic Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg, with its animated astronomical clock. From the end November, all of Alsace eagerly welcomes you to share the most marvellous of all the holidays. Alsace at Christmas time is unique, welcoming you with warmth and generosity, good food and drink and a magical ambience!
In the Rhenish tradition Christmas is one of the loveliest times of the year. A warm, cosy atmosphere, delicate aromas of cinnamon and spices, sublime decorations and illuminations come together to create that special atmosphere that takes over all of Alsace!
Discover the chalets at the Christmas markets, give into temptation and try all the exquisite Christmas treats along with a delicious mug of mulled wine. Craftspeople display their wares and their skills, with all kinds of delicately made objects that will make perfect gifts. Everywhere the streets come alive with activity, offering a multitude of convivial encounters in the purest of Christmas spirits.
As Christmas approaches, enjoy a wide range of festive events and activities all filled with emotion.
That of a carol concert, where the warmth of voices in the choir will uplift your soul. That of an indulgent moment, when the aromas and flavours of Christmas will sharpen your appetite. That of sharing, as you listen to the Alsatian tales and legends woven around the legendary figures of St. Nicolas, Hans Trapp and Christkindel.
Christmas in Alsace is the promise of a welcoming, authentic Christmas, which we warmly invite you to come and share.

Our visit to Molsheim in the Alsace Region of France

A look at the beautiful Alsace town of Molsheim. A great stopover on the Alsatian Wine Route, and as a base to explore the region. We're only here for the night as we head off on our Lakes & Lederhosen tour, but what can we discover in a few hours.

We know it's where Ettore Bugatti set up his car works in 1909, when the region was part of Germany. So when we find a museum to the man and his machines - well, you have to. We also get to explore the La Chartreuse, or Charterhouse, before retiring back at the old town centre and the 16th century La Metzig.

A short video but we'd love to know what you think. Have you explored the Alsace region of France?

Haguenau France ???????? 4K Christmas Market Walking Tour 2022

This is a Christmas Market walking tour in Haguenau , France. Haguenau is a small town located in the Alsace region of France. Haguenau was founded by German dukes and has swapped back and forth several times between Germany and France over the centuries, with its spelling altering between Hagenau and Haguenau by the turn. After the French defeat in the Franco-Prussian War, Haguenau was ceded to the new German Empire. It was part of the German Empire for 48 years from 1871 to 1918, when at the end of World War I it was returned to France. This transfer was officially ratified in 1919 with the Treaty of Versailles. The market is located in the center and even though it is not as popular as Strasbourg or Colmar, it is still quite charming place.

Haguenau (Elsass-Alsace) Ein Stadtspaziergang Teil 1/4

Kaysersberg one of France's most beautiful villages in Alsace-Lorraine [French medieval town]

An overview of the sights and sounds of historic Kaysersberg, Alsace Lorraine, France voted France's preferred village in 2017.

Alsace Lorraine is a beautiful region of France with lots of quaint medieval villages. The village of Kaysersberg is one of the most beautiful villages in France. It was actually selected as such by French people in a TV show. It has cobble stone streets and timbered houses. It looks like the village is straight out of a fairy tale. If you want to visit Kaysersberg, you should. If you are not sure what to see in Kaysersberg and what to do in Kaysersberg, things to see in Kaysersberg and things to do in Kaysersberg, this video was made for you. We don't go as far as showing where to stay in Kaysersberg and where to eat in Kaysersberg, but there are plenty of great restaurants in Kaysersberg to choose from.

There is also a very famous hotel in Kaysersberg called Le Chambard. This is the hotel where Anthony Bourdain died in 2018. It also has a great restaurant that you should try.

Enjoy!
