Guebwiller is located 23 km northwest of Mulhouse and 25 miles southwest of Colmar in the Vosges and the entrance to the valley Florival (or Lauch Valley, named after the river that runs through it ). Le Grand Ballon, highest point of the Vosges, is located 8 km as the crow flies west of the city, which is the name commonly Guebwiller ball.
The history of Guebwiller is initially linked to the abbey of Murbach. The core of the current city is built around the Romanesque church of Saint-Leger and Burgstall castle. Enclosed by ramparts between 1270 and 1287, Guebwiller is from the 13th century and the revolution, the administrative capital of the Principality of Abbey Murbach. In 1759, Abbey received his transfer to Murbach Guebwiller. The Frauenkirche is then built houses surrounded by canons. During the revolution, the abbey's assets are sold to industrial developers and Guebwiller quickly became the second industrial center after high-Rhin Mulhouse. The urban landscape is altered by the construction of factories, villas and housing estates outside the city.
The wine-growing town Guebwiller situated by the river possesses three beautiful churches: the 12th-century Saint-Léger church, the Dominicans' church built in the 14th century and the 18th-century Notre-Dame church.
Guebwiller is sometimes called the City of the 3 churches:
The church of Saint-Léger: In late Romanesque style, it was built in pink sandstone Vosges 1182-1235 under the leadership of the abbot of Murbach, replacing a chapel located in the same place.
The former Dominican monastery: Built in the fourteenth century by the typical architecture of the mendicant orders. It is composed of convent buildings, a church and a cloister. The nave is decorated with remarkable mural paintings (the fourteenth to the seventeenth century). Today the convent houses a cultural center: The Dominicans of Haute Alsace offering all year numerous concerts, exhibitions and events in the different spaces of the building. The nave of the Gothic church is famous for its acoustics, one of the best in Europe.
The church Notre-Dame and the canonical neighborhood: In 1759, the religious Murbach obtain the transfer of their abbey at Guebwiller. Since 1763 the construction site of the neo-classical church starts. It is surrounded by houses canonical, whose deanery which now houses the museum Théodore Deck and Florival country.

Most beautiful parts of Alsace...Through the vine routes to Vosges massif with Mont Sainte-Odile, Gazon du Faing, Le Hochneck , then beautiful medieval villages: Ribeauville, Riquewihr, Gertwiller, Eguisheim, Hunawihr, then a little bit of Colmar and Strasbourg and a little bit of attraction for children: monkey zoo (Montagnes des signes), lama's farm (which is not in Alsace area, but I just couldn't remove them from this video :) ), papillon's garden (Jardins des Papillons), and eagle park in Kintzheim castle (Volerie des Aigles).

FRANCE Murbach Abbey, Alsace (25 June 2022)
Our last location in France was in Rimbach. We made a tour through the Alsace and visited Murbach Abbey.
Murbach Abbey (French: Abbaye de Murbach) was a famous Benedictine monastery in Murbach, southern Alsace, in a valley at the foot of the Grand Ballon in the Vosges.
The monastery was founded in 727 by Eberhard, Count of Alsace, and established as a Benedictine house by Saint Pirmin. Its territory once comprised three towns and thirty villages. The buildings, including the abbey church, one of the earliest vaulted Romanesque structures, were laid waste in 1789 during the Revolution by the peasantry and the abbey was dissolved shortly afterwards.
Of the 12th-century Romanesque abbey church, dedicated to Saint Leodegar (St. Léger), only the transept remains with its two steeples, and the east end with the quire. The site of the nave now serves as a burial ground. The building is located on the Route Romane d'Alsace.

Ranked among the Most Beautiful Villages of France, Sainte-Agnès has also earned the label of the highest coastal village in Europe. Culminating at 760 meters of altitude, Sainte-Agnès is a stunning belvedere on the Mediterranean and offers a breathtaking panorama of the big blue and coastal cities such as Menton and Roquebrune-Cap-Martin.
You can also immerse yourself in its medieval streets and discover artists and craftsmen's workshops. History lovers will admire its medieval garden, the remains of its castle, and the Maginot Line Fort dug into the cliff.
How to go to Sainte-Agnès from Menton: Bus 10 from the Menton the bus station will take you there for 1.50€. There are only a few buses every day so remember to plan your back trip in advance!

La petite Venise à Colmar est magnifique .
La ville de Strasbourg est très riche en terme d’architecture avec notamment la cathédrale de Strasbourg, la petite France, le quartier de la Neustadt , le parlement européen et bien d’autres endroits.
Les nombreux villages traversé au milieu des vignes d’Alsace, sont remplies de maison à colombage. Toutes de couleurs différentes.

Munster (in Alsatian Menschter) (in German Münster) is a French commune in the Vosges mountains located in the administrative district of Haut-Rhin and, since January 1, 2021, in the territory of the European Community of Alsace, in the Grand Est region.
This commune is located in the historical and cultural region of Alsace and is nestled in the Fecht valley, in the heart of the Hautes-Vosges massif. The city is famous for its cheese of character: the munster. The town is also the seat of the Ballons des Vosges regional natural park.
