Visiting a self-sufficient Cuban farm outside of Havana Cuba - Finca Vista Hermosa (SE01/EP01)

In this episode we show you what you can do with a Cuban SIM card and the 'La Nave' (Cuban 'Uber') mobile application in Cuba.

We used La Nave to visit a self-sufficient farm in Guanabacoa Cuba which is 45min-1hr outside #Havana #Cuba called Finca Vista Hermosa.

Finca Vista Hermosa has an onsite restaurant with some of the freshest food you will find on the island. And you can go horseback riding with a #genuine #cuban #guajira.

We walked all over this self-sufficient farm and discovered how they not only grow their own crops and raise their own animals in Cuba, but also how they make their own gas and generate their own electricity.

This is the type of thing that no other YouTubers will show you. Simply because they turn up in Havana for a couple of days, walk around the old town #havana or #habanavieja and then leave. They never see the #realcuba and simply can't show it too you.

Click subscribe and follow our regular updates over the next few months (and years) as we endeavor to show you what others can't (or won't) show you in Cuba.

Beauty of Havana, Cuba in 4K[ World in 4K

World in 4K presents you Havana, the capital city, largest city, province, major port, and leading commercial centre of Cuba. The city has a population of 2.1 million inhabitants, and it spans a total of 781.58 km2 – making it the largest city by area, the most populous city, and the fourth largest metropolitan area in the Caribbean region.

The city of Havana was founded by the Spanish in the 16th century and due to its strategic location, it served as a springboard for the Spanish conquest of the Americas, becoming a stopping point for treasure-laden Spanish galleons returning to Spain. The King Philip II of Spain granted Havana the title of City in 1592. Walls, as well as forts, were built to protect the old city.
The city is the centre of the Cuban government, and home to various ministries, headquarters of businesses and over 100 diplomatic offices.

Contemporary Havana can essentially be described as three cities in one: Old Havana, Vedado and the newer suburban districts. The city extends mostly westward and southward from the bay, which is entered through a narrow inlet and which divides into three main harbours: Mari melena, Guanabacoa and Antares. The sluggish Almendares River traverses the city from south to north, entering the Straits of Florida a few miles west of the bay.
The city attracts over a million tourists annually; the Official Census for Havana reports that in 2010 the city was visited by 1,176,627 international tourists, a 20% increase from 2005. Old Havana was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982. The city is also noted for its history, culture, architecture and monuments. As typical of Cuba, Havana experiences a tropical climate.

We Visit Cuban Immigration and Grandma Gets Drunk - Only To Wake Up To A Surprise (SE01/EP02)

We'd originally gone to Cuban Immigration in the Havana suburb of Vedado to register my address in Cuba only to find that the immigration office was closed (twice).

We then found out we needed to go to a completely different immigration office in Guanabacoa, Cuba. So my host Alvaro wouldn't be fined or arrested.

We hoped in a La Nave (Cuban 'Uber') to Guanabacoa where Alvaro's grandmother had been waiting in line since 6am that day in order to help us avoid an 8hr line.

Instead of the expected 8hrs it only took us 3hrs of Cuban immigration lines (we were first in line). I'm now successfully registered on a 'family visa' (1000CUP in stamps) as opposed to the standard tourist visa (Tarjeta Del Turista).

To thank Alvaro's grandmother, we took her out for the first lobster she'd had in Cuba in over 10 years. We let her choose the restaurant and as it turned out, it had amazing lobster, cold Coronas and an onsite Cuban whorehouse.

We gave grandma a few too many beers and had to carry her home.

When she passed out, we hatched a scheme to get her an iPhone so she could WhatsApp and FaceTime call her Cuban sister living in America.

Locating a phone for sale on Revolico (Cuba's blackmarket craigslist) we hopped in another La Nave across to Diez de Octubre, bought the iPhone and then headed back to surprise her.

After a few technical issues, we were able to add a VPN and get into the Apple App Store from Cuba and set her up with her favourite apps.

She now FaceTimes everyone 10+ times day. I call it a success but her relatives getting all the calls might not.

Havana (/həˈvænə/; Spanish: La Habana [la aˈβana] (listen)) is the capital and largest city of Cuba. The heart of the La Habana Province, Havana is the country's main port and commercial center.[4] The city has a population of 2.3 million inhabitants,[5][4] and it spans a total of 728.26 km2 (281.18 sq mi)[2] – making it the largest city by area, the most populous city, and the fourth largest metropolitan area in the Caribbean region.[5][6]
