#3 Adventure Aquarium Columbus. This is a giant aquarium store and its as good as any aquarium in any zoo. It's filled with thousands of fish and exotic marine life. It is a fun free way to spend an hour with kids in Columbus.
#2 We go to the most charming suburb of Columbus, Ohio .... Dublin, Ohio. For the Dublin Ohio Irish Fairy Door Trail. We start our Fairy Door adventure by starting in historic Dublin at the Dublin Visitors center, where we pick up our Fairy Door Passport, that points us in the right direction for the trail. We walk around the city and go to 11 different local businesses to find their resident fairy. Once you find all the doors and write down the fairy's name, you turn in your Fairy Passport and the town of Dublin will send you a FREE Tshirt.
#1 We go to The American Whistle Company and watch how whistles are made. We see it start off as coiled brass to the end and how they get that little ball inside. So this is not a completely free tour, I should mention, the virtual tour is free, but guests pay $5 for this 45 minute factory tour. However it does end with each guest receiving a brass whistle hot off the press.

My story so far........
I was raised in the West and became an adult in the East.
I set out on my own at 18 to see the world, bouncing around Asia and North America. Working my way through school, I never lived anywhere too long. I found my calling as a teacher and ended up staying abroad for many years. While I've had a chance to explore Europe, places I consider home are Washington DC, Seoul, Beijing, Memphis, and Columbus. After 20 years of exploring, I'm ready to share my adventures and wanderlust. The road ahead is never a straight line, but a path that zigs and zags, leading you to amazing places, people, and experiences you could never imagine. I Found Every Ohio Historical Marker in Groveport in 2023
Welcome to this exciting video exploring the historical markers in Groveport, Ohio. In this video, we will take a tour of some of the most important landmarks in the city that tell the stories of its rich history. So, let's start our journey in our mini-episode covering Franklin County, focusing on Groveport!
Our first stop is the Groveport Log House, which is located at 551 West Main Street. The house was built in 1835 and is one of the oldest surviving log houses in the area. The house was originally built by Samuel Butterfield, one of the earliest settlers in the area, and was later owned by the Grove family. The Groveport Log House is now open to the public and serves as a museum, showcasing the life and times of the early settlers in Groveport.
Next on our list is Lock 22 in Groveport, which is located along the Ohio and Erie Canal. The lock was built in 1831 and played an important role in the transportation of goods and materials throughout the state. The lock is now a designated historical landmark and is open to the public for tours. Visitors can learn about the history of the canal and the important role it played in the development of Groveport and other nearby towns.
Moving on, we come to the Interurban Railway in Groveport. The railway was an important means of transportation for the people of Groveport and other nearby communities in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The railway provided a fast and efficient way for people to travel to nearby towns and cities, and it helped to stimulate economic growth in the area. Although the railway is no longer in operation, its legacy lives on in the historical markers and artifacts that can be found throughout the city.
Another notable historical marker in Groveport is John S. Rarey and Cruiser. John S. Rarey was a horse trainer who gained fame in the mid-19th century for his unique approach to horse training. Cruiser was a horse that Rarey trained using his revolutionary methods, and the horse went on to become one of the most famous horses in history. Today, a statue of Cruiser stands in Groveport, serving as a reminder of the city's connection to the world of horse training and equestrian sports.
Finally, we come to Historic Groveport, which is a designated historic district in the city. The district features a collection of historic homes and buildings that date back to the 19th century, including the Groveport Town Hall and the Groveport Heritage Museum. Visitors to Historic Groveport can take a self-guided walking tour of the district, learning about the history and architecture of the buildings along the way.
