HARVEST HOST STAY AT GRISSOM AFB MUSEUM
Episode # 97 is a look at the Grissom AFB Museum which is also a Harvest Host RV overnight location for travelers passing through Indiana. This particular base is special for me as Grissom AFB was my last permanent duty station prior to my discharge from the Air Force in 1974.

Advanced Combat Operations Training • Aircraft Refueling
Footage of various aircraft refueling inflight during Exercise Gunfighter Flag, a joint Advanced Combat Operations Training (ACOT) event held November 2-6, 2015. The ACOT included Airmen from Travis Air Force Base alongside Airmen from various other bases, the US Army and Navy, as well as the Singapore Air Force. The training exercise touched on all combat situations. This video is footage of the refueling exercise near Mountain Home AFB, Idaho.

Named for Astronaut Virgil Ivan Gus Grissom, The Museum was founded in 1981. Virgil Ivan Grissom, better known as Gus Grissom, was one of the original NASA Project Mercury astronauts and a United States Air Force pilot. Grissom was born in Mitchell, Indiana (April 3, 1926 -- January 27, 1967), Grissom was killed along with fellow astronauts Ed White and Roger Chaffee during a pre-launch test for the Apollo 1 mission at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (then known as Cape Kennedy). Apollo 1 (initially designated Apollo Saturn-204 and AS-204) was scheduled to be the first manned mission of the U.S. Apollo manned lunar landing program, with a target launch date of February 21, 1967. Hill Aerospace Museum Inside Plane & Jets Tour! PART 2
Hill Aerospace Museum, located in Roy, Utah, is a U.S. Air Force museum that is part of the United States Air Force Heritage Program. The museum is located off Interstate 15 and is near Hill Air Force Base.
The museum was founded in 1982 as part of the United States Air Force Heritage Program and first opened to the public in 1987. It moved to its current facility in 1991. The museum annually welcomes around 350,000 visitors, coming from every state and many foreign countries.
The Museum will begin opening Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2021.
Admission is FREE but monetary donations are gratefully accepted.
