Il parco del Serio è un'area naturale protetta della Lombardia che si sviluppa da Seriate lungo il fiume Serio fino alla sua foce nell'Adda.
La sua istituzione risale al 1973 quando le province interessate espressero la loro volontà di tutelare l'ambiente fluviale seriano. Questa proposta si concretizzò nel 1985 con la costituzione del parco regionale.
Il corso del fiume segue un andamento nord-sud e presenta caratteristiche diverse a seconda dei tratti. Nella zona più a nord infatti il fiume è suddiviso in vari rami che vengono continuamente modificati a causa delle piene; questa zona è caratterizzata da una notevole permeabilità che spesso provoca l'infiltrazione delle acque nel sottosuolo. Nella parte più meridionale del corso del fiume si può notare la presenza di ambienti umidi che presentano spesso caratteristiche di grande interesse naturalistico.
Fauna
La fauna del parco presenta ancora significative presenze, nonostante si possa notare un notevole deterioramento dell'ambiente naturale.
È comunque da annoverare la presenza di una trentina di specie acquatiche che vanno dai temoli alle trote marmorate, dai tritoni ai rospi, dalle salamandre alle raganelle.
Tra i mammiferi sono presenti ricci, talpe, lepri e conigli selvatici, donnole, tassi, faine e volpi.
Tra i rettili sono molto diffusi il ramarro, le lucertole, il biacco, le bisce dal collare e le vipere comuni.

A video of our time spent exploring the Orobic Prealps a few days after entering the New Year in 2020 and particularly the Gorno mountain in the Province of Bergamo in Italy. We have experienced the true beauty of the mount Grem area while ascending, inhaling the fresh air and reaching the top at 2000 metres altitude. We have put a lot of effort in climbing and walking on snow. We felt the silence and peace of the mountains while gazing astonishing views and we are grateful that we have lived such an experience, also watching the orobic landscapes, the different kinds of birds and especially the eagles flying around in the sky during our final path towards the top.

L'autostrada A22 (o autostrada del Brennero, Brennero-Modena o Autobrennero, in tedesco: Brennerautobahn) è uno degli assi principali della rete autostradale italiana, collegando la Pianura Padana e l'autostrada A1 con l'Austria e la Germania. È gestita da Autostrada del Brennero S.p.A..
L'autostrada A4 (detta anche Serenissima) è un'autostrada italiana che attraversa da ovest a est l'intera pianura padana, partendo da Torino, passando per Milano, Venezia e terminando a Sistiana, frazione del comune sparso di Duino-Aurisina (TS), da cui prosegue verso Trieste con la classificazione RA 13. È la terza autostrada italiana per lunghezza dopo la A1 e la A14.
L'Aeroporto di Bergamo-Orio al Serio, ufficialmente Aeroporto Internazionale Il Caravaggio e anche noto con il nome commerciale di Milan Bergamo Airport (utilizzato nel sito ufficiale dell'aeroporto), (sigla IATA BGY) è un aeroporto italiano situato nel comune di Orio al Serio, a 5 km di distanza dal centro di Bergamo e 50 km dal centro di Milano; occupa anche porzioni dei comuni di Grassobbio e Seriate. È una delle tre basi operative principali di Ryanair, assieme all'aeroporto di Dublino-Cork e all'aeroporto di Londra-Stansted. È il terzo scalo italiano per numero di passeggeri.
Assieme all'aeroporto di Milano-Malpensa e all'aeroporto di Milano-Linate forma il sistema aeroportuale milanese di oltre 49 milioni di passeggeri annui (2019) (il secondo in Italia dopo il sistema romano). Già intitolato all'aviatore Antonio Locatelli, il 23 marzo 2011 viene ufficialmente intitolato al celebre pittore Michelangelo Merisi, detto Il Caravaggio.
Lo scalo è principalmente utilizzato da compagnie aeree a basso costo per le quali risulta essere il primo in Italia per numero di passeggeri e per la società di ricerca specializzata britannica Skytrax rientra tra i 10 migliori aeroporti low-cost del mondo nel 2016. Nell’aeroporto c’è anche l’hangar della Ryanair, vestito con la bandiera Italiana.

A project by Paolo Baraldi selected for the Artistic Residency in Cape Town, South Africa, September 1- October 15 2014
The second edition of the Italo-South African artist’s residency exchange programme, facilitated by the Centro Luigi Di Sarro, Rome Italy ( and SMAC Art Gallery Cape Town ( is marked by the arrival of Italian artist Paolo Baraldi in Cape Town. Il Baro will be living and working on a specific project in Cape Town for a period of 30 days, after which , he will present a solo exhibition at SMAC Art Gallery in Cape Town. The project Not A Line (a shadow line) is an urban art intervention, focused on and projected onto the grid map of the new MY CITY bus route in Cape Town which has revolutionized public mobility in Cape Town. The title “Not a Line”, in its literal sense is relevant as the map or network of bus routes is far from linear. Baraldi also sees the movement of people as a form of human exchange. My City buses concurrently run through the well-known tourist spots, and the various suburbs of the city. Each bus stop will represents a new discovery and encounter for the artist with places, people, situations and images which he aims to reproduce in shadow form, creating a body of work which is both a social survey and study in urban ethnography.
Paolo Baraldi describes the project in Cape Town as follows:
Drawing, photography and engraving, are steps in a process of memorization: the faces, the lives, the lights and shadows of people who might meet in my experience will be stored and played back in memory.
This project fits into the body of work which I have been developing around public spaces over the last few years, in Bilbao (Spain), Tampere (Finland), Rome and Bergamo (Italy). Recurring themes and devices in my work are issues surrounding equality, as well as highlighting the acquiescence and complicity of the individual to change appearance within the public context, reflecting a specific visual and cultural aspect, which is provoked and encouraged through artistic intervention. The extent and nature of these interventions relaxed or intensified, depending on the context.
The timing of the project coincides with various initiatives surrounding the City of Cape Town as World Design Capital for 2014, and the conceptual basis of the project aligns itself with this theme: artistic intervention and urban intervention are interrelated and connected as tools in contemporary new social planning.
In recent years, there has been increased criticism and concern about commercial art practices and the art market which stifles creativity and authenticity in artistic production and there is a move back towards a vision of art which is more closely linked to the creative act, where the artist is an interlocutor, engaging with its audience, operating from within an open/public space.
Building on this concept, Paolo Baraldi will also have a live workshop with the photography and graphics students from the Ruth Prowse School of Art based in Woodstock working with them at the near My City bus stop.
The Art Residency Project in South Africa is supported by the Consulate of Italy in Cape Town and the South African Embassy in Italy.
