তারকেশ্বর ????????হিন্দুদের পবিত্র তীর্থক্ষেত্র, যেখানে রয়েছে স্বয়ম্ভু শিবলিঙ্গ, এই জাগ্রত দেবতার লিঙ্গে জল ঢালতে বহুদূর থেকে ভক্তরা আসেন... অনেকেই কাঁধে বাঁকে করে জল নিয়ে পায়েহেঁটে এখানে আসেন। মঙ্গল প্রাথর্না করেন, এখানে দুধ পুকুরে ডুব দিলে মনোস্কামনা পূর্ণ হয়, অনেক রোগ নিরাময় হয়।
প্রতি বছর শিব রাত্রির দিনে প্রচুর মানুষের সমাগম হয়, এছাড়া গাজনের উৎসব এ ও ভীড় হয়।

Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple A Holy Place of India | ताड़केश्वर महादेव मंदिर की मान्यता
ताड़केश्वर महादेव मंदिर टिहरी गढ़वाल जिले के लैंसडाउन क्षेत्र में स्थित पवित्र धार्मिक स्थान है | ताड़केश्वर महादेव मंदिर भगवान् शिवजी को समर्पित है | यह मंदिर समुन्दरी तल से 2092 मीटर ऊँचाई पर स्थित है | ताड़केश्वर धाम मन्दिर 5 किमी. की चौड़ाई मे फैला हुआ है | यह मंदिर बलूत और देवदार के पेड से घिरा हुआ है जो कि प्रकति की सुंदरता के लिये बहुत ही अच्छा है । साथ ही यहाँ कई पानी के छोटे छोटे झरने बहते हैं । ताड़केश्वर महादेव मंदिर सिध्द पीठों में से एक है और इसे एक पवित्र स्थल माना जाता है । श्री ताड़केश्वर महादेव की पूजा एक वर्ष में चार बार होती है , जिसके अंतर्गत एवम् अधीन 76 गाँव आते है । गाँव में फसल होने पर सर्वप्रथम मन्दिर में भेंट चढ़ाई जाती है । इसके पश्चात ही गाँव वाले फसल को इस्तेमाल करते हैं । इस मंदिर के दर्शन करने के लिए हर साल हजारों श्रद्धालु आते हैं। यह मान्यता है कि इस मंदिर में माँगी गई हर मन्नत भगवान पूरी करते हैं । हर साल महाशिवरात्रि के दिन मन्दिर मे विशेष पूजा का आयोजन किया जाता है जो कि मंदिर समिति के द्वारा होता है | जनश्रुति के अनुसार यहां पर सरसों का तेल और कन्दार (शाल) के पत्तों वर्जित है | मंदिर परिसर में एक कुंड है माना जाता है कि यह कुंड ‘देवी लक्ष्मी’ के द्वारा खोदा गया था | इस कुंड के पवित्र जल का उपयोग शिवलिंग में होता है |

ताड़केश्वर महादेव मंदिर की पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार ताड़कासुर एक राक्षस था , जिसने भगवान शिव जी से अमरता का वरदान पाने के लिए इस स्थान पर ध्यान अर्थात तपस्या करी थी | भगवान शिव ताड़कासुर की विशाल भक्ति और पूजा को देखकर ताड़कासुर को अमरता का वरदान प्रदान कर देते है | समय बितने के साथ ताड़कासुर अमरता के वरदान से पृथ्वी मे गलत कार्य करने शुरू कर देता है और संतो को मारने लगा | पृथ्वी का शांतिपूर्ण वातावरण ताड़कासुर के द्वारा मुसीबत में देखते हुए संतो ने भगवान शिव से मदद मांगने का अनुरोध किया | ताड़कासुर से युद्ध करने के लिए भगवान शिव ने माँ पार्वती से विवाह करके कार्तिक को जन्म दिया | जैसे कार्तिक के हाथो ताड़केश्वर मारे ही गए थे तभी ताड़कासुर भगवान शिव से प्रार्थना करने लगे और क्षमा मांगता है | तब भगवान शिव उन्हें माफ़ करते हुए कहते है कि कलयुग में तुम्हे लोग भगवान् शिव के नाम से ही पूजेंगे एवम् ताड़कासुर की पूजा भगवान् शिव के नाम से ही होती है , इसलिए इस स्थान का नाम “ताड़केश्वर महादेव” पड़ा | इससे पहले ताड़केश्वर महादेव मंदिर में शिवलिंग मौजूद था लेकिन अब भगवान शिव की मूर्ति मौजूद है जिसकी पूजा होती है । भगवान शिव जी की मूर्ति उसी जगह हैं जहां पर शिवलिंग मौजूद था ।
ताड़केश्वर महादेव मंदिर की मान्यता !!
ताड़केश्वर महादेव मंदिर की मान्यता के अनुसार यह भी कहा जाता है कि कहते हैं कि ताड़कासुर का वध करने के बाद भगवान शिव ने यहां विश्राम किया था | जब माता पार्वती ने देखा कि भगवान शिव को सूर्य की गर्मी लग रही है तो माता पार्वती ने स्वयं देवदार के वृक्षों का रूप धारण किया और भगवान शिव को छाया प्रदान की । ताड़केश्वर महादेव मंदिर के प्रांगण में आज भी वे सात ताड़ के पेड़ विराजमान हैं । रामायण में भी ताड़केश्वर का वर्णन एक पवित्र तीर्थ के रूप् में मिलता है। यहां बाबा ताड़केश्वर के पास लोग अपनी मुरादें लेकर आते हैं और भोलेनाथ अपने भक्तों को कभी निराश नही करते हैं । ऐसी मान्यता है कि जब किसी की मनोकामना पूरी होती है तो वे यहां मंदिर में घंटी चढ़ाते हैं। यहां 0014इस बात का प्रमाण हैं कि यहां बाबा की शरण में आने वाले मनीषियों का कल्याण होता है।

The Taraknath temple, dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva worshiped as Taraknath, is a major pilgrimage spot in the town of Tarakeswar, West Bengal, India. Built in 1729, the temple is an atchala structure of Bengal temple architecture with a 'natmandir' in front. Close by are the shrines of Kali and Lakshmi Narayan. Dudhpukur, a tank to the north of the Shiva temple is believed to fulfil the prayers of those taking a dip in it.

Rajbalhat is a small town in Jangipara block, Hooghly. This place was a part of Bengal's history. It is said that Rajbalhat was the capital of Bhursut Kingdom during 16th Century. Rajbalhat offers few divine destinations for a day tour.
During my visit I went to Rajballavi Temple first. Built around 500 years ago, the temple attracts visitors across Bengal. The deity is unique and white in colour. The temple opens at 5.30 AM for visitors to offer Puja and take bhog.
For Puja slots booking and bhog, you can come here within 9.30 AM. Otherwise call this person for further assistance.

In a walking distance of 10 minutes you can visit Sridhar Damodar Temple and Radha Gobinda Temple. Both the temples are terracotta temples. You can see amazing terracotta works on the wall.
Dwarhatta is situated just 5 KM from Rajbalhat. This place also has a few temples to watch for and a resort.
During my visit I visited Raj Rajeshwar Temple. This terracotta temple is now a protected place by WB state heritage commission. Built in the year 1728, the terracotta works of the temple will blow your mind. Opposite the temple premise, you will see 3 Shiva temples and one temple of Goddess Kali. The temples were built by the Local Zamindar Singha Roy family.
Take a gentle walk through the village lanes you will find Sri Dwarikachandi Temple. This temple was also built by the Singha Roy family in 1126 Bengali year. Once your visit is complete, come to Mondwarika Resort.
This resort is built in an area of 3.5 Bigha. You can enjoy the ambience. The uniqueness of the resort is Tyres. You heard it right. 1675 tyres were used in the construction. The food served is organic. Fishes are from local pond. Day tour and night stay are also available. For booking, you can log in to their Facebook page.
Visit the temples in the morning within 11.30 AM otherwise, the temple premises will be closed.

The Taraknath temple, dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva worshiped as Taraknath, is a major pilgrimage spot in the town of Tarakeswar, West Bengal, India. Built in 1729, the temple is an atchala structure of Bengal temple architecture with a 'natmandir' in front. Close by are the shrines of Kali and Lakshmi Narayan. Dudhpukur, a tank to the north of the Shiva temple is believed to fulfil the prayers of those taking a dip in it.

Tarakeswar (pronounced Tarokeshshor) is a town and a municipality in Hooghly District in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is also one of the police stations under Chandannagore subdivision.Tarakeswar is a place of pilgrimage and a centre of the Shaiva sect in West Bengal. 58 kilometres away from Kolkata, Tarakeswar can be reached conveniently by train.

Our target on the Serampore history route was the ancient Radhaballav Temple, which is situated on Ballavpur Thakurbati Street. The pious Vaishnavite Zamindar Nayan Chand Mullick, a member of the well-to-do Mallick family of Pathuriaghata Street in North Kolkata, constructed this temple in 1764. His son, Nimai Charan Mullick, organised for the deities to receive Nitya Seva (daily service) in 1837. One of Bengal's largest Aatchala shrines is this temple. Triple doorways leading to a porch define the Aatchala architectural style, which is distinctive of Bengali temples. Either a rounded or a pyramidal roof with straight edges is possible.
The current Radhaballav temple's history is highly fascinating. The idol of Radhaballav Jiu was first constructed at a temple by Rudraram Pundit. At Chatra, close to Serampore, he had maternal uncles. The current Radhaballav temple's Dol-Mancha is constructed exactly as Rudraram did when he built it at Chatra. Close to the temple, the original Aaatchala Dol-Mancha is abandoned and in poor condition. On the crumbling walls of the 'Aaatchala, remnants of exquisite artwork can still be seen with the proper magnification.
Many people believe that Lord Krishna appeared to Rudraram Pundit in his dream and gave him the order to retrieve a specific stone from the palace of the Sultan of Gaur and commission the carving of an idol. Rudraram went to the palace to retrieve the stone as instructed. He was shocked to see the divine apparition of Lord Krishna when he arrived at his destination. According to legend, the stone began to sweat abundantly due to the heat, and the Lord once more appeared in Rudraram's dream and gave him the order to submerge the stone in the neighbouring river. He eventually pulled out a sizable Kashti-pathor (touchstone) from the river and hired a sculptor from Vrindavan to create the idol of Lord Krishna. Three gods and Radhaballav were carved into the stone by the artist.
Around 1677, Rudraram, with the aid of other disciples, constructed a Aatchala Radhaballav Temple on the banks of the Ganga River. The temple was later harmed by the extensive ground erosion that ensued when the river altered its course. The site's frequent visitors ceased going there, and eventually it was abandoned. In 1764, the deity was relocated from the historic temple and reinstated in the brand-new structure. Evangelical priest Rev. Henry Martyn later converted the abandoned, dismal temple into a church. With government funding, the location was renovated, and it is now popularly known as Henry Martyn Pagoda.
Radhaballav Jiu has been revered in Serampore since ancient times, and as a result, Ballavpur is now the name of the neighbourhood. There are other festivals throughout the year in addition to the 'Nitya Seva' performed to the Lord at the temple, and the temple is beautifully decked during these fests. Phool Dol (playing Holi with flower petals), Snan Yatra (a festival of bathing), Raash, Gostha, Jhulan, Virat Utsav, and Maghi Purnima are only a few of these complex celebrations.
