Lake in Rorschach, Switzerland
In 1489-90 the Rorschacher Klosterbruch or destruction of the abbey at Rorschach touched off the St. Gallen War. Following decades of conflict with the city of St. Gallen, in late 1480 Abbot Ulrich Rösch began planning to move the abbey away from the city of St. Gallen to Rorschach. By moving he hoped to escape the independence and conflict in the city. Additionally, by moving closer to the important lake trade routes, he could make Rorschach into a major harbor and collect a fortune in taxes. In turn Mayor Varnbüler and the city feared that a new harbor on the lake would cause trade to bypass St. Gallen and Appenzell. They would then be forced to go through the Prince-Bishop's harbor to sell their fabric.[4] Though the city of St. Gallen and Appenzell opposed the new monastery, after the approval of Pope Sixtus IV and protracted negotiations with Emperor Friedrich III the corner stone of the new Mariaberg Abbey was laid on 21 March 1487.

At Germany's biggest lake, the Bodensee (lake Constance), is one of the best cities to visit in Germany. If you are planning to travel the South of Germany make sure to put it on your route, it's the perfect place if you're looking for an authentic & traditional German experience. There are almost no foreign tourists.
Lindau is in the most southern part of Bavaria on a little island on the lake Constance, directly bordering Austria (by land) and Switzerland (by water). The city is hosting every year the Nobel Laureate Meetings.

Wir gehen von der Mariabergstrasse in Rorschach hinauf zum evangelischen Kirchengemeindezentrum. Diese markante Kirche ist schon von weitem zu sehen. Neben der Kirche ist ein Kino aber auch in der Kirche selbst werden immer wieder Filme auf einer Leinwand gezeigt (z.B. am 17. März 2016). Vor der Kirche hat man einen guten Überblick über Rorschach und den Bodensee.

Everything you need to know about hiking the Alpine Panorama Trail is learned on Segment 1. How to ride the trains, how to use the trail system and the Swissmobile hiking app, water and food needs, uphill hiking, downhill hiking, more uphill hiking, mountain passes, small towns, river valleys, and Alp Houses (Gasthaus or Berggasthaus) with mountain views.
The trail starts along the Bodensee (Lake Constance) at the Kornhaus in Rorschach. The Kornhaus is a historical landmark building that now houses a museum and café. Originally, Kornhause (or grain houses) were the central trading markets for grain coming into the various cities. The markets were heavily taxed and provided a primary source of revenue for these cities typically from the 1400s – 1800s.

Zurich (German: Zürich) is located in north-central Switzerland. Lake Zurich (German: Zürichsee) belongs to a group of lakes on the edge of the Alps. It was formed by the uplift of the Alps, river erosion, and glacial lakes during the last ice age.
Lake Zurich is in the shape of a beautiful crescent. The end of a section goes deep into the center of Zurich. The total length is 42 kilometers, the width is 3.85 kilometers, and the deepest point is 136 meters. The shore length is 87.6 kilometers and the area is 90.1 square kilometers.
The scenery of Lake Zurich and its banks are extremely beautiful, the lake and mountains are beautiful, and the beautiful crescent-shaped lake Zurich passes through the beautiful towns on both banks. This is a wonderful place to enjoy swimming, sailing, boating, and sightseeing.

St. Anton Oberegg || winter Time
St. Anton Pass is a high mountain (1110 m above sea level) pass in the Alps between Appenzell Innerrhoden and Sankt Gallen Switzerland.
From St. Anton can look forward the gorgeous breath taking view of St. gallen rhine valley and the lake constance. and also good for starting point for circular hiking trail.
