Nabi Samuel Park is a fascinating combination of antiquities, agricultural terraced landscapes, mountain spring, and orchards. At the heart of the site is a large building from the Crusader period, containing the tomb of the prophet Samuel
The Judaean Mountains, or Judaean Hills or the Hebron Mountains, is a mountain range in Palestine and Israel where Jerusalem, Hebron, and several other biblical cities are located. The mountains reach a height of 1,026 meters (3,366 ft). The Judean Mountains can be separated to a number of sub-regions, including the Mount Hebron ridge, the Jerusalem ridge, and the Judean slopes.
The Judaean Mountains formed the heartland of the Kingdom of Judah (930-586 BCE), where the earliest Jewish settlements emerged, and from which Jews are generally descended.
Nabi Samuel Park extends along the slopes of Mt Samuel [Har Shmu’el]. Mt Samuel is a horst (a block raised above its surroundings), rising to a height of 855 m above sea level. To the east, the range is bounded by the Soreq Stream, and its tributaries to the north and south of the mountains accentuate its height.
Mt Samuel commands the road from Giv’at Ze’ev to Jerusalem (Road 436). This road follows the route of the ancient road from Bet Horon to Jerusalem.
Terraces still remain on the slopes of the hill, evidence of the traditional mountain agriculture that was common here in the past. Among the agricultural crops are orchards, including strawberry, fig, almond and olive trees, some still remaining to this day. Planted cypresses and pines also grow in the area. On the walls of the cave in which the Hannah Spring rises, maidenhair fern (Adiantum capillus-veneris) grows.
On the surrounding hillsides, scrub covers the abandoned terraces. The most noticeable plant among the scrub is prickly burnet (Sarcopoterium spinosum).
Mammals are sometimes seen within the national park, wandering around the Judean Hills, among them the mountain gazelle (Gazella gazella), the striped hyena (Hyaena hyaena), and the red fox (Vulpes vulpes).

Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this calling in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, glide over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and see the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.
On the occasion of Tu B'Av, together with The Eden Company, we launched the huge installation I Love JLM in Zion Square, which will become a global tourist attraction, as in other cities such as Amsterdam and New York.
The unique installation was placed in zion square of Jerusalem and will serve as a global tourist attraction, as it is in large and famous cities in the world, including Amsterdam and New York. It seeks to present another face of Jerusalem, which is identified as a cultural, historical and religious symbol - and now receives a new, sweeping and fresh spirit of love as a universal value that transcends sects and conflicts. Also, as stated, I Love JLM puts Jerusalem in line with other love capitals around the world.
Mayor Nir Barkat emphasized that Everyone loves Jerusalem - and Jerusalem loves everyone - the new installation symbolizes the unique place Jerusalem has in each and every one, and I invite the city's residents, visitors and tourists to visit Jerusalem, to spend time here and to photograph themselves in the special installation He said.
After last year, when we decided to put love on the map - this year we decided to put love in the center. According to the Jerusalem artist chosen to create the installation, Yarel Yair, The choice to design the installation in a unique way compared to other cities around the world stems from the desire to present the uniqueness of Jerusalem, with inspiration from modern urban works around the world and similar installations in Amsterdam, New York and Toronto. Its roots and the glorious past of the city of Jerusalem.
The choice of placing the love installation in Zion Square was made following the activities led by the Eden Company to encourage and nurture the art, culture and leisure scene in the renewed city center of Jerusalem.
Deputy CEO Eden (Jerusalem Economic Development Company), Lior Bar Dor, noted that this is another initiative that is part of the upgrading of the public space in Jerusalem and its transformation into an experiential, active and attracting audience. In recent weeks, everyone has been wandering around downtown along series of special installations that have changed the face of the space. From the solar cinema and the screening of free movies for the whole family, through the umbrellas on Yoel Salomon Street to The Playback Orchestras that is run by the crowd on the street. These special installations not only upgrade the city's cultural life, but contribute to its economic development and trade in these areas.
