A lot of us know of Chernobyl. But few know that there was also a secret Soviet Base in what is now the Exclusion Zone around it. This base also had to be abandoned suddenly when the Chernobyl incident happened.
This giant antenna in there was top secret. But it caused a strange interference with short wave signals all over the world and people had triangulated the source of the interference to this location even though the Soviet Union denied its existence. The interference was a constant knock sound that you would hear on all broadcast and people started referring to it as the “Russian Woodpecker”.
The purpose of the Russian Woodpecker remained a mystery. Conspiracy theories ranged from Soviet mind control to weather experiments. Then came the collapse of the Soviet Union, which revealed that the Russian Woodpecker was at the forefront of what is known as “over the horizon” radar, designed to provide early warning of an inter continental ballistic missile attack.

What's it about?
Pollock's Toy Museum is the oldest toy museum in the UK. The collection is housed in two atmospheric 18th and 19th-century buildings in Fitzrovia, London. The collection was begun in 1956 by Marguerite & Kenneth Fawdry and is run by the Fawdry family to this day.
The Museum is named after Benjamin Pollock, the last of the Toy Theatre makers! Today it houses thousands of exhibits, including board games, marbles, money-boxes, puppets, wax dolls, toy theatres, dolls houses and a 4,000-year-old clay mouse.
It is now run by the descendants of Marguerite & Kenneth with the support of the 'Pollocks educational Trust'.
There are three sections
1. A look at the Toy theatre trade in London from the1800s to now,
What is a toy theatre
Who made them
Who played with them
Who was Mr. Pollocks
How was the toy museum set up and what makes it special.
2. We will pick out a few other Toys from the collection to talk about, including Eric one of the worlds oldest teddy bears
3. Share your toys - Bring a toy of your own and share your story

The N11 road is a national primary road in Ireland, running for 129 km (80 mi) along the east side of Ireland from Dublin to Wexford. It passes close to Bray, Greystones, Wicklow, Arklow and Gorey and also passes through Enniscorthy, amongst others.
Beyond Wexford, the route continues to Rosslare as the N25. The road forms part of European route E01.
As of 2015 the N11/M11 is of dual carriageway or motorway standard from Dublin as far as Gorey in County Wexford.
The road is a busy commuter route, being the only dual carriageway passing through the south eastern suburbs of Dublin, as well as close to the many commuter towns along the east coast as far south as Gorey.
Summer Friday and Sunday evenings also see very heavy traffic as Dubliners decamp to, and return from, their many holiday home locations along the Co. Wicklow and Co. Wexford coastlines.
