Hallo and greeting from the northern port city of Hamburg, Germany where we we'll explore the top 10 things to do in Hamburg in this travel guide on a tight time constrained 24 hour visit! This is where Sam and I kicked off our recent trip across Germany, and while we only had one full day to explore, we hit the ground running ready to eat, see and do as much as possible. After a solid night's rest, we seemed to have kicked the jet lag, and we spent our day exploring the red-brick warehouses of Speicherstadt, touring the port by boat, eating our fill of pickled herring, taking part in a chocolate-making workshop, and a whole lot more. The following is our Hamburg travel guide and in this video we’re going to be sharing 10 things to do in Hamburg during your visit.

Today's video is about our one day hiking tour to the Schieferpark Lehesten, Which is located in Thuringia a state of Germany.
Schiefer is German word it means slate in english.
In the middle of the Thuringian Slate Mountains-Obere Saale nature park lies the Lehesten quarry, where slate was mined from 1300 to 1999 and processed into roof and wall slate as well as panels. After the slate production ended, the construction of the slate park began.

Im Jahre 1237 erhielt Gera das Stadtrecht, erwähnt wurde es als Landschaft jedoch bereits im 10. Jahrhundert. Nach dem 2. Weltkrieg stieg die Bevölkerungszahl stark an. 1988 lebten 134.834 Menschen in Gera. Durch den industriellen Niedergang nach 1989 (vor allem durch das Ende des Uranerzbergbaus) verlor Gera seitdem nicht nur rund 30 Prozent seiner Einwohner, sondern 2009 auch den Status als Großstadt.
Dennoch ist Gera eine schöne Stadt mit einem gemütlichen Stadtzentrum. Für mich war Gera auf jeden Fall eine Reise wert, und ich möchte es gern weiterempfehlen.
