How Russians relax on Black Sea? Gelendzhik
Gelendzhik is a city on the Black Sea coast. Even in winter, it is sunny here, and the temperature rarely drops below zero. In summer, the city is full of tourists, but there is something to do at any time of the year. At a minimum, look at unusual rocks, dolmens and waterfalls. Circassians, Greeks, Italians and Turks lived here. It is worth starting your acquaintance with the city from the main pedestrian zone - the embankment, stretching along the entire coast. There are interesting sculptures on it - the White Bride, the Scientist Cat, Assol and Scarlet Sails, as well as the Love Hearts fountain. You can see the city from a height by riding one of the two cable cars. Vacationers with children will appreciate the dolphinarium and oceanarium, water parks, dinosaur park, Safari Park and Olympus Park.
Want to conquer a mountain peak, but without climbing equipment and risk to life? - Then be sure to climb to the top of the Markotkhsky ridge, towering 600 meters above Gelendzhik. You can do a cardio workout and climb the mountain on foot, but you can also climb with the aforementioned cable car located in the Olimp Park. In addition to the incredible beauty of the views, several interesting sights await you at the top: Dzhigit-stone, the memorial in Afonovka, the military cemetery and the Poklonny cross towering over the city. The locals dubbed it Rio de Gelendzhik because of its resemblance to the famous statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro.
Tourist Complex Olimp And One More Cable Car
The territory of the park Olympus is divided into lower and upper parts.
Below, at the foot of the Markhot Ridge, there is a bowling alley, billiards, a planetarium, a museum for paleontology lovers, a crocodile farm, a concert hall and a contact safari park Call of the Jungle.
At the top are rides, including a Ferris wheel. And also - a swimming pool with swan boats, a zipline, a children's town.
There are picnic areas on the territory of the complex. There you can rent a barbecue and cook barbecue.
An open-type passenger cable car with double seats is the main attraction of the Olympus park. It connects the upper and lower platforms - it leads from the foot of the Markhotsky ridge to its top. The length of the path is 1150 meters. Tourists overcome this distance in 15 minutes.
Krucha beach is not so famous among tourists, but mostly locals and experienced travelers come here. And as you know, the less popular some place in the resort, the better it is. Also, Krucha is not very popular due to the fact that the beach is located under a sheer cliff and it is not so easy to get to it. However, ask one of the locals, and they will probably tell you the shortest way to the shore. You should not expect a developed infrastructure from the steep, rental of sunbeds and other beach paraphernalia, because they come here not at all for this. Here, especially in the morning and evening, you can be alone with the sea, without crowding among vacationers. The coast on Krucha is rocky and not very suitable for sunbathing comfortably on a blanket, but the water is very clean, and the surrounding landscapes are beyond praise.
Blue Abyss Beach (20 km from Gelendzhik)
Another not typical tourist beach is called the Blue Abyss and is located twenty kilometers from Gelendzhik. Everything here is pretty standard, as for the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus: high sheer cliffs overgrown with pine trees, a rocky beach, crystal clear water and a complete lack of infrastructure. However, it is worth sailing a little further from the coast, and you will find yourself above the abyss, going down more than 20 meters. It is thanks to this fact that the beach got the name Blue Abyss. This place attracts all fans of savage recreation, divers and just lovers of beautiful landscapes.
