Driving in Germany: Bundesstraße B10 from Göppingen to Geislingen an der Steige
In this video you can drive along on the B10 urban expressway from the city of Göppingen to the city of Geislingen an der Steige. The B10 East of Stuttgart doesn't only serve many of the nearby cities, it's also an important through-route to Ulm and for many a viable alternative to the Autobahn A8 Albaufstieg.
But just like the A8 at the Albaufstieg, a notorious bottleneck and one of the most scenic Autobahns in Germany, the B10 running in parallel is just as much a bottleneck. Right after the exit to the B466 in the direction of Heidenheim, the B10 turns into a single lane expressway going through a few towns and cities.
The amount of traffic has been a problem for decades now and on the day that I filmed it's no exception, which is why I fast-forwarded the video even more at some point. In many of the towns on the way you see signs against the B10 or for a B10 bypass of the town. The geography makes it difficult though, especially after Geislingen there is some challenging incline much like the A8 Albaufstieg. I hope you find this video interesting. Wanderung um Geislingen/Steige - Route 11 mit Ödenturm und Ruine Helfenstein
In nur zwei Minuten zeige ich dir alle Highlights während der Wanderung um Geislingen an der Steige (Route 11). Ich empfehle, die Tour erst Richtung Schildwacht/Ostlandkreuz einzuschlagen und an der Burgruine Helfenstein zu beenden. Du wanderst über rund 16 km Strecke in rund 5 Stunden Dauer vom Geislinger Bahnhof zum Ostlandkreuz weiter zum Geiselsteinhaus am Geiselstein. Dann folgen mit Tiroler Fels und Wittlinger Fels zwei super Aussichtspunkte auf die Geislinger Bahntrasse. Bei Amstetten und dem Café Ziegelhütte ist der Scheitelpunkt der Wanderroute, dabei überquerst du die B10 und die Bahnstrecke. Am Rastplatz Mühltalfels hast du die Regional-, Fern- und Güterzüge noch näher im Blick. Dann wird es in puncto Sehenswürdigkeiten etwas ruhiger, bis dann die beiden Höhepunkte (Ödenturm und Burg Helfenstein) kommen. Der Ödenturm ist nur sonntags geöffnet, aber es gibt am Fuße des Turms eine Aussichtsplattform mit einem fantastischen Panoramablick. Den gibt’s auch von Ruine Helfenstein aus, die regulär bewirtschaftet ist. Von da aus folgt der ca. 15-minütige Abstieg zurück zum Bahnhof Geislingen.

A Hike in Esslingen and the vineyards of this medieval city. [visit Esslingen, a must-go in Germany]
The walk through Esslingens vineyards is amazing. You are able to see Esslingen the
medival city with its ,half-timbered houses next to the Neckar river from above.
Esslingen is defenatly a place to see and visit in Germany. It wasn't destroyed in the second world war and still looks really great. I myself was stunned how beautiful it is. The city is not far from Stuttgart and is worth the visit and should be considered when staying in Stuttgart, the Train does take you there quickly.
The hike above the city is about 7 miles long, and you can visit vineyards and have a local vine. The views over the city of Esslingen and the city of Stuttgart are beautiful and if you decide to have an even bigger walk you can visit the Grabchappel , this is a famous point to visit, but it will make your hike a lot longer.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the summer - Travel Germany
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a ski town in Bavaria, southern Germany. It is the seat of government of the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen (abbreviated GAP), in the Oberbayern region, which borders Austria. Nearby is Germany's highest mountain, Zugspitze, at 2,962 m (9,718 ft.).
Garmisch (in the west) and Partenkirchen (in the east) were separate towns for many centuries, and still maintain quite separate identities.
Partenkirchen originated as the Roman town of Partanum on the trade route from Venice to Augsburg and is first mentioned in the year A.D. 15. Its main street, Ludwigsstrasse, follows the original Roman road.
Garmisch is first mentioned some 800 years later as Germaneskau (German District), suggesting that at some point a Teutonic tribe took up settlement in the western end of the valley.
During the late 13th century, the valley, as part of the County of Werdenfels, came under the rule of the prince-bishops of Freising and was to remain so until the mediatization of 1803. The area was governed by a prince-bishop's representative known as a Pfleger (caretaker or warden) from Werdenfels Castle situated on a crag north of Garmisch.
The discovery of America at the turn of the 16th century led to a boom in shipping and a sharp decline in overland trade, which plunged the region into a centuries-long economic depression. The valley floor was swampy and difficult to farm. Bears, wolves and lynxes were a constant threat to livestock. The population suffered from periodic epidemics, including several serious outbreaks of bubonic plague. Adverse fortunes from disease and crop failure occasionally led to a witch hunt. Most notable of these were the trials and executions of 1589–1596, in which 63 people — more than 10 percent of the population at the time — were burned at the stake or garroted.
Werdenfels Castle, where the accused were held, tried and executed, became an object of superstitious terror and was abandoned in the 17th century. It was largely torn down in the 1750s and its stones used to build the baroque Neue Kirche (New Church) on Marienplatz, which was completed in 1752. It replaced the nearby Gothic Alte Kirche (Old Church), parts of which predated Christianity and may originally have been a pagan temple. Used as a storehouse, armory and haybarn for many years, it has since been re-consecrated. Some of its medieval frescoes are still visible.
Garmisch and Partenkirchen remained separate until their respective mayors were forced by Adolf Hitler to combine the two market towns in 1935 in anticipation of the 1936 Winter Olympic games. Today, the united town is casually (but incorrectly) referred to as Garmisch, much to the dismay of Partenkirchen's residents. Most visitors will notice the slightly more modern feel of Garmisch while the fresco-filled, cobblestoned streets of Partenkirchen offer a glimpse into times past. Early mornings and late afternoons in pleasant weather often find local traffic stopped while the dairy cows are herded to and from the nearby mountain meadows.
During World War II Garmisch-Partenkirchen was a major hospital center for the German military. After the war, it was used by the U.S. military as a recreation center for U.S. military men stationed in Europe and their families.

Driving Germany: B10 Ulm - Stuttgart - 4K scenic drive through Swabian Alb and Fils valley
After driving some time ago on the A8 between Ulm and Stuttgart, decided this time to deeper explore the nice area of The Swabian Plateau and Fils valley, while driving on the B10 national road. The landscape is very nice, and there are also some very interesting towns on the way, like Geislingen an der Steige, Göppingen and Esslingen. We reach Stuttgart towards the end of he drive, one of the most relevant cities for car manufacturing worldwide (Mercedes-Benz and Porsche have their headquarters here).
Photos from Ulm and Stuttgart are also integrated in the video.
