In today’s video I’m taking a look at the most beautiful towns in Colorado and the prettiest places to visit. The vast Rocky Mountains draw in visitors looking for a laidback vacation with amazing culture and attractions.
Enjoy a jam-packed day in one of the national parks or ski at one of the largest resorts in the country. Whatever you choose you won’t be disappointed as each of these towns offers stunning views and one-of-a-kind scenery.
Some of the towns on this list are lesser known and include some hidden gems. As a local, I go off the tourist path to find some unique and scenic towns to visit and with little tourist crowds.
From skiing and snowboarding in the winter to hiking, and camping in the summer, outdoor activities are a way of life in Colorado. The Centennial State is an ideal travel destination and one of the best places to visit for outdoor pursuits in every season.

Barbados - Historic Bridgetown and It's Garrison - World UNESCO Heritage Site
On June 25, 2011 Barbados joined an elite group of nations with world heritage properties when Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This inscription is a tremendous feat for a small Caribbean island states. It presented the opportunity to address the obvious geographical imbalance in sites from Latin American and the Caribbean. UNESCO’s commitment to the identification, protection and preservation of the world’s cultural and natural heritage is enshrined in the Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage (1972).

EXPLORING PORTSMOUTH ENGLAND HARBOUR ◆ SOUTHSEA COFFEE, ROYAL GARRISON, BATTERY WALL, OLD PORTSMOUTH
[Filmed October 9, 2020] PLEASE NOTE: Portsmouth was in Tier 1 at the time this video was filmed, which meant there were no restrictions on travel apart from not traveling to other UK areas that were in higher tiers. We had already completed our two-week travel quarantine in strict accordance with UK govt rules, and we stringently practiced hands-face-space safety precautions.
With that, the UK is in a lockdown on the date this video is being released. As a result, some activities that you will watch us do are not currently possible, and we are not promoting that you do them until they are deemed safe in the future.

In this video, Derek and I took advantage of some unexpected sunny weather in our home-base of Portsmouth, England and hit the pavement. We walked from central Southsea to Portsmouth Harbour, and then followed the chain pattern along the sidewalk to learn about Britain’s maritime history in the area.
Specifically, we meandered our way from the coffeeshop to the harbour while passing the Naval War Memorial. We then scoped out Clarence Pier, admired the Royal Garrison Church, patrolled the Battery Wall and Square Tower, and ended our journey with a pint at Still and West in Old Portsmouth! It was so fun to explore Portsmouth's history on foot - and in a safe way!

After a night camping at Chinamen's Campground, I head to Helena, MT where I stay four nights at my friends', Dave and Monica, waiting for west winds to subside. Garrison Crossing Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge | Toronto Walking Tour
Formerly known as The Fort York Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge is now called the Garrison Crossing, is located in the Fort York and the Waterfront neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The Garrison Crossing is made of two stainless steel bridges over rail corridors connecting Stanley Park in the north and the Garrison Common of the Fort York grounds in the south.
Today, I am taking you to explore and walk The Garrison Crossing neighbourhood, a quiet but still full of charm, in downtown Toronto, Canada.

#Railservice in #GarrisonNewYork can be traced as far back as the 1850s with the #HudsonRiver #Railroad. Prior to this, the only major #transportation in the community was the ferry to West Point.[1] Garrison Landing was built around the station, which, along with the line, was acquired by the New York Central and Hudson River Railroad in 1864, and like many others on the Hudson Line, it is also right on the Hudson River. In 1892, NYC&HR rebuilt the station with elements of the Italianate, Victorian Gothic and Hudson River Bracketed styles, similar to stations such as Dobbs Ferry. On October 24, 1897, the Garrison train crash occurred 1.75-mile (2.82 km) south of the station at Kings Dock resulting in 19 deaths (mostly from drowning) and hundreds of injuries. A pedestrian tunnel was added to the station beneath the tracks in 1929. In April 1945, the station was a stop on the funeral train of Franklin D. Roosevelt, where #WestPointers could pay tribute to the dead president as his body was transported to Hyde Park.
The station house became a Penn Central station upon the merger between NYC and Pennsylvania Railroad in 1968, like many NYCRR stations in #Putnam County . Bankruptcy for Penn Central in 1970 forced them to turn passenger service over to the #MTA in 1972, even through the period when it was taken over by #Conrail in 1976, and then by #MetroNorthRailroad in 1983 which rebuilt a new station south of the former NYC station house.[when?] The former station house became a contributing property to the #GarrisonLanding #HistoricDistrict in 1982, and has been the headquarters of the #PhilipstownNY Depot Theatre since 1996.[3]
The original Garrison Depot building (Still standing just north of the current Metro-North station), the surrounding buildings, the overpass, and the tunnel just north of the depot were prominently seen in 1969's #HelloDolly ! during the #PutOnYourSundayClothes number. The building was given some retro facade work and was dressed up as Yonkers, New York.

Garrison is a hamlet in #PutnamCounty, New York, #UnitedStates . It is part of the town of Philipstown, on the east side of the Hudson River, across from the United States Military Academy at West Point. The Garrison Metro-North Railroad station serves the town. Garrison (a.k.a. #GarrisonsLanding ) was named after 2nd #Lieutenant #IsaacGarrison , who held a property lot on the Hudson River across from West Point and conducted a ferry service across the Hudson River between the two hamlets. Isaac and his son #BeverlyGarrison fought in the Battle of #FortMontgomery in 1777, were captured by the British and later set free.
The Garrison train wreck took place near Garrison on the Great #HudsonRiverRailway on October 24, 1897, killing 20 people.
For the 1969 film #HelloDolly! starring #BarbraStreisand Garrison was the filming location for the Yonkers scenes. The #SaintBasilAcademy in the town served as the finish line of The #AmazingRace 10 in 2006.

The #UnitedStatesMilitaryAcademy ( #USMA ), also known metonymically as West Point or simply as Army, is a United States #serviceacademy in West Point, New York. It was originally established as a fort, since it sits on strategic high ground overlooking the Hudson River with a scenic view, 50 miles (80 km) north of New York City. It is the oldest of the five American service academies and educates cadets for commissioning into the United States Army.
The academy was founded in 1802, one year after President Thomas Jefferson directed that plans be set in motion to establish it. It was constructed on site of Fort Clinton on West Point overlooking the Hudson, which Colonial General Benedict Arnold conspired to turn over to the British during the Revolutionary War. The entire central campus is a national landmark and home to scores of historic sites, buildings, and monuments. The majority of the campus's Norman-style buildings are constructed from gray and black granite. The campus is a popular tourist destination, with a visitor center and the oldest museum in the United States Army.
