Garner State Park is a great place to visit for a swim or hike, or to enjoy a relaxing weekend. With 2.9 miles of Frio River winding through 1,774 acres of scenic Hill Country terrain, the park offers lots to see and do!
????Swim in the Frio River or float its waters on an inner tube, operate a paddle boat, and hike 16 miles of scenic trails. You can also camp, study nature, picnic, canoe, fish, play miniature golf, geocache and ride bikes. And, of course, you can dance.
????Equipment Rentals
Visitors can rent paddle boats, kayaks and inner tubes, as well as tables, barbecue pits, heaters and fans. The park’s concessionaire operates a tube shuttle and putt-putt golf course during busy seasons. Rent a small locker near the boathouse for stashing your valuables. On this episode we go over the entrance fee of the park and hike the Nature Trail and Old Baldy! Located in Concan, Texas and considered one of Texas best park .This park is great for families and little ones.

Families enjoy swimming, dancing and hiking
Fun traditions and beautiful scenery bring people back to Garner State Park time after time. Besides easy access to the Frio, the park offers many miles of hiking trails and camping options.
Things to Do at Garner State Park
Garner State Park is a great place to visit for a swim or hike, or to enjoy a relaxing weekend. With 2.9 miles of Frio River winding through 1,774 acres of scenic Hill Country terrain, the park offers lots to see and do!
Swim in the Frio River or float its waters on an inner tube, operate a paddle boat, and hike 16 miles of scenic trails. You can also camp, study nature, picnic, canoe, fish, play miniature golf, geocache and ride bikes. And, of course, you can dance.
Equipment Rentals
Visitors can rent paddle boats, kayaks and inner tubes, as well as tables, barbecue pits, heaters and fans. The park’s concessionaire operates a tube shuttle and putt-putt golf course during busy seasons. Rent a small locker near the boathouse for stashing your valuables. Weekend at Garner State Park in Texas: Kayaking the Frio River + hiking up Old Baldy!
For our first adventure of 2021, we headed to Garner State Park, a place we have always wanted to visit, for a weekend of kayaking the Frio River, camping, and hiking. We had the best time and fell madly in love with this gorgeous area of Texas!
NOTE: Drones are not allowed in Texas State Parks. All drone footage in this video was filmed outside of the park.

Texas has some of the best state parks to visit in the United States. The landscape changes so much from one area to the other, that you will find lakes, woodland, marshes, canyons, and sand dunes. This is a list of exciting Texas state parks for kids.
What to know before you visit Texas State Parks
Currently, Texas state parks are open for day use, and limited overnight camping. Visitors to the state parks must wear masks and practice safe social distancing. Hiking groups are limited to ten people or less (unless they are all related).
How to Find the Best Hiking Trails at Each Park
We are huge fans of the AllTrails app. Download it to your phone and it will tell you everything from the best hiking trails nearby, to the number of trails at each park, a trail map, dog friendly hikes, and even share reviews of each trail. It is an invaluable tool when planning a hike with kids.
Finally, you must reserve a day pass ahead of time, even if you have a Texas Parks pass. Passes are available as timed entry or regular entry, and are available for print or mobile use. Please note that some park services may be limited, so be sure and check the Texas parks website prior to heading out.
