GHENT, BELGIUM | 7 BEST Things To Do In Ghent

The city of Ghent is located in the northwest of Belgium, at the confluence of two rivers. During the Middle Ages, Ghent was a wealthy and prominent city-state mainly due to the manufacturing of cloth made from English wool. Today, it’s a university town and cultural hub full of amazing architecture, such as the 12th-century Gravensteen castle. From towering churches to detailed statues and peaceful canals, there are hundreds of charming views to take in here. In this video, we’ll break down the 7 best things to do in Ghent.

7. Try local delicacies
Try waffles, french fries, and Belgian Beer (Delirium Tremens is the local one), “Gentse Neusjes” and a “Julientje”.

6. Walk around Patershol
With unique architecture, well-preserved cobbled streets, and serene views of the canals, this is a must-visit spot.

5. Free walking tour of the historic center
Starting at Hostel Uppelink next to the Saint Michaels Bridge, you’ll learn all about the history of Ghent. Including how Ghent came to be one of the largest towns in Northern Europe in the 13th century.

☑️ Book free walking tour here:

4. Visit the Castle of the Counts (Gravensteen Castle)
The castle is a museum and a major landmark in the city. We highly recommend doing the audio-tour that is both funny and interesting.

3. Chill at Graslei or Korenlei
Located directly across from each other on opposite sides of the river, these two quays are part of the medieval port that hosted ships since the 11th century.

2. Enjoy The Festivities
Must-do: the Christmas market in December or the Gentse Feesten at the end of July

1. Kayak or boat tour on the river
To rent a kayak, head to Hostel Uppelink.
The other option is to do a 50-minute guided boat tour. Here, you’ll get a short history lesson while you admire Ghents most famous sights from a unique view on the water.

☑️ Book your boat tour here:

4 PARKS IN OCALA FLORIDA YOU SHOULD VISIT

I enjoy the outdoors, whether that is hiking, biking, or getting On the Water with my boat or kayaks. Since Hurricane Ian the water levels have been high so getting on the water has been a little difficult as most boat ramps are closed. Tropical Storm Nicole delayed boating even more. In this video I take some time off the water and visit a couple Ocala Parks that I had not been to since moving here. Each park is in a different quadrant of Ocala (SE, NE, NW, SW)

Ocala Nature Park -1600 SE 30th Ave, Ocala, FL 34471
On the SE side this is the smallest of the 4 parks I visited. A small stocked pond for fishing and playground for kids (think 80's playground equipment).

Tuscawilla Art Park - 213 NE 5th St, Ocala, FL 34470
Next on the NE side, this part has several sculptures located along the walking path that follows around the large pond. If you are looking for a nice walk, under 1 mile Tuscawilla is an excellent park. Tennis courts and a very nice playground are also on property.

Ocala Wetland Recharge Park - 2105 NW 21st St, Ocala, FL 34475
Not far from the downtown area is the Wetland park. Several walking paths weave through this park for a look at nature. Alligators, turtles, birds and more are all located at this park. No pets, biking allowed. This park is about the peaceful sounds of nature.

Sholom Park - 7110 SW 80th Ave, Ocala, FL 34481
Perfectly manicured landscapes, Koi pond and shaded walking paths. If you enjoy a quite place to walk and discover beautiful plants and flowers, check out this park.

I'm SHOCKED at the new MOSCOW | Moscow Vlog 2023

Welcome back guys
In this video i'll share with you my first impressions of Moscow in June 2023.
It has been 3 years since i was last in Moscow, a city which i loved and felt very proud to have lived in.. and then.. well we all watch the news!

NOTE! - This is not a political vlog, i do not share my opinions on Russian politics or what i think of what is happening.

In this video I just wanted to explore Moscow and see how things had changed in the last few years and see what the vibe was like on the street.

I only had 6 hours to enjoy the city so time was tight as i had a lot i wanted to do! Thank goodness for the small rental scooters!

Hopefully you enjoy this little insight...

A Tour of 1001 Nights Bed & Breakfast in St. Augustine

1001 Nights Historic Bed and Breakfast is located in downtown St. Augustine, Florida on Orange Street. If you're looking for a charming and truly a unique place to stay, this is it.

1001 Nights is housed in a beautifully restored 1800s 2-story building that was originally a private residence. Today, this inn boasts Moroccan inspired design elements both exterior and interior.

LOCATION: Located just 2 blocks from ‘The Fort’ and other top attractions make this an attractive place to stay.

PARKING: There’s 8 guest rooms so there are 8 clearly marked parking spots in the back of the house with blue parking signs that correspond to your room number. It’s a little tight, but doable.

BACK OF HOUSE AREA: Here’s the back of the house and that’s room #7 with a private balcony which is the room we reserved. The back downstairs is designated smoking area… Here’s another private balcony.

INTERIOR: After walking through the front doors, to the left you’ll see the inn’s dining area where they serve breakfast each day.
Room 7 is on the 2nd floor at the back of the house. This is a 2-bedroom 1 bath suite. When you come in, there are 2 twin beds to the right showing that Moroccan vibe with rich textures shown on the pillows, blankets, and even on the wall décor.
At the back is the 2nd room featuring a full bed, 1 side table and windows. There’s a coffee maker with coffee, creamer, sugar, and 4 mugs.

THE BALCONY IN RM. 7: The gold on the table and chairs match the gold trim of the house. The patterned blue and gold tiles are an extra touch. So here you have a view of the parking lot below.

THE BATHROOM: features a claw tub which you’ll have to be careful going in an out of. The toilet, sink, and a small mirror on the wall. There’s plenty of toilet paper and there’s enough towels for 4 guests.

Quiet Hours from 10pm to 8 a.m.
All rooms are equipped with locks that you put your password in to unlock, and free Wi-Fi.
Downstairs across from the dining room the small reception/seating area with a restroom, brochures, historic photographs, a guestbook and an area to store your luggage.
For breakfast, they offer the basics; bagels, toasts, coffee, tea, juice. Here’s their table setting…
Their host Cynthia came and took our orders. We got omelettes that fueled us for the day but they also have pancakes and waffles.

PROS for staying here include the walking distance to downtown, the free parking for sure because everywhere else charges $25 and up per night nowadays, and also the experience of staying in a historic home.

Things to Consider:
-The stairs if you have mobility issues. There are a couple of rooms downstairs so check to see which room you’ll be in prior to arriving.
-Host on site in the mornings only I think. We didn’t see any hosts checking in at 3pm.
-There’s an elementary school beside the building, so you need to factor in how the noise might impact your stay during the school year.
-Blue LED lights outlining the house may be bothersome at night if prefer complete darkness when sleeping.

Overall, we enjoyed our 1-night quick get-away which provided rest for the day before and after of exploring the city.

You don’t have to wait until Black History Month to celebrate African American’s accomplishments and contributions to this country. Though most of it was done involuntarily, our blood, sweat, tears and lives literally built this country. Of course there is more to Blacks in America than slavery and Jim Crow; we’re inventors, writers, award winners, record breakers, politicians, medical professionals, entrepreneurs, artists, activists, musicians and so much more.

There is no shortage of museums dedicated to civil rights in America set in spots where pivotal points in the movement's history occurred. So if you love learning about the history and culture and have a love for traveling, then these destinations are for you.

Places to see in ( Charlotte - USA )

Places to see in ( Charlotte - USA )

Charlotte is a major city and commercial hub in North Carolina. Its modern city center (Uptown) is home to the Levine Museum of the New South, which explores post–Civil War history in the South, and hands-on science displays at Discovery Place. Uptown is also known for the NASCAR Hall of Fame, which celebrates the sport of auto racing through interactive exhibits and films.

Uptown is Charlotte's central district, and the location of its somewhat oversized skyline as well as the center of Charlotte's commerce, culture, and government, with most of the bustle centered around Tryon Street, the Main Street of the city. NoDa, short for North Davidson Street, is one of Charlotte's most eclectic and original neighborhoods. Similar in some ways to NoDa and South End, but a little rougher around the edges because of its alternative and non-conformist crowd.

Once located altogether outside the city, Myers Park is near the heart of modern-day Charlotte. Its reputation as an old money neighborhood is accentuated by its beautiful tree-lined and winding avenues. Charlotte's first streetcar suburb, Dilworth has never lost its reputation as a desirable place to make home. An affluent district in south-central Charlotte, and home to the city's second-largest business district. SouthPark is a newer suburb whose development has mostly occurred in the last 40 years.

Just outside of Uptown, Elizabeth reflects a transition between elegant Myers Park and gritty Plaza-Midwood. A sprawling 1970s-style suburban district, focused around the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. A somewhat ambiguous, but distinctive, area covering a large portion of the city's eastern end. East Charlotte contains the city's largest concentration of immigrants. The most recent large-scale development in Charlotte, Ballantyne is located at the far southern edge of the city. Area generally defined by the original boundary of Steele Creek Township.

Real Estate in West Charlotte is far cheaper than other neighborhoods in Charlotte. Located north of Uptown and to the west of University City, North Charlotte consists of numerous nice neighborhoods and shopping opportunities including the upscale NorthLake Mall. Cotswold Mall, has been emerging as one of the more desirable areas for living and shopping with close proximity to Uptown. Area bordered by Ballantyne and the towns of Matthews and Pineville to the south, it is home to notable ethnic restaurants and neighborhoods including Starmount and Ashley Park as well as the nationally-known golf course of Quail Hollow that hosts PGA golf tournaments.

The Snake Woodlands Walk, English Countryside 4K

۞
All support is hugely appreciated and it helps me keep the channel going!

No talking, just walking. Exploring the English Countryside. A pleasant stroll around The Snake Woodland Forest! The Snake Pass (A57) road traverses the Peak District National Park, linking Glossop to Bamford in Derbyshire. The road earns its name from its winding nature and is surrounded by diverse landscapes, including woodlands (I've created a driving video along the Snake Pass). This specific part of the forest is nestled in a valley, with the river Ashop flowing through its centre. It's an ancient, dark forest, and so far, this is my absolute favourite walk. A truly beautiful experience! Do enjoy :)

Charlotte Walking Tour and Wells Fargo Museum | 10K Road Trip Vlog Day 29

I know what you're thinking, but that Wells Fargo History Museum was SO MUCH FUN. And FREE. And the historic walking tour around Uptown Charlotte was interesting and worthwhile too.

This is Day 29 of our 10,000 mile road trip across the US.

We started Charlotte's historic walking tour at the center of uptown, the intersection of Trade and Tryon, with bronze statues that represent Charlotte's past and future. We wandered around to find a statue of the city's namesake, Queen Charlotte. We also explored some parks, walked by the Knights' and Panthers' Stadiums, and explored the oldest Catholic Parish in Charlotte.

But for us, the highlight of the visit was the Wells Fargo History Museum. I know, it sounds cheesy, and maybe it is, but we LOVED IT. It's fully interactive and so interesting. You get to play with so much stuff! Well done, Wells Fargo. Well done.

Note: Remember that the museum is closed on Sunday and Monday. We did the walking tour on Monday but went back in on Tuesday morning because we had to do the museum. But if you're there on any other day, you can do this all in a few hours, no problem.

What's going on here?
