We visit Figueira da Foz | PORTUGAL FARM LIFE S4-E13 ❤????????
Today we take a road trip, to the west coast of Central Portugal, to visit the seaside city of Figueira da Foz. Its the second largest city in the Coimbra district in Portugal and a great place to enjoy the sunshine and the waves. The Mondego river runs from the Serra da Estrela mountains for 258 kilometres until its mouth reaches the Atlantic ocean in Figueira da Foz.
Our visit was brief but we absolutely loved it, and we hope that you did too. ????
We are Ken & Gina, and we left the UK in 2019 in search of a simpler life, away from our office jobs, and the hustle and bustle of the big city. We sold our house, left the UK, and left the Rat race behind us, to move to Portugal and buy a farm. We found an amazing farm in Castelo Branco, Central Portugal where we have lived for the last two and a half years. We make these videos for our friends and family to keep up with what’s going on in our new lives and as a record to look back on one day so see how far we have come. We are always amazed when we see how many people have been watching, following, and subscribing to our vlogs. Thanks for tuning in ????

PRAIAS EM PORTUGAL - FIGUEIRA DA FOZ - HOTEL EUROSTARS OASIS PLAZA - ‹GATE 2 GATE›
Estou hoje na cidade de figueira da foz, em Portugal, cidade litorânea situada a 197 km de distância de Lisboa e pertencente ao distrito de Coimbra. É a segunda maior cidade do distrito de Coimbra com cerca de 62 mil habitantes.
Este é o hotel EuroStars Oasis Plaza, que fiquei hospedado e é minha recomendação de hospedagem em figueira da foz, com boa localização, excelente café da manhã, quartos espaçosos e com uma boa vista, além de uma ótima piscina no ultimo andar.
Com tem atura média no verão em torno de 25 graus e podendo chegar próximo dos 35, é um excelente destino para se ir à praia.
Figueira da foz foi considerada a rainha das praias de Portugal, com os seus 34 km de praias. A cidade é bastante turística, e no verão fica repleta de atividades na orla da praia.

Caminhando em Buarcos - Figueira da Foz
Já no século XIV, em 1342, o rei D. Afonso IV faz doação de Foral a Buarcos. Em1362 D. Pedro dá ordem à Mitra e Cabido da Sé de Coimbra para que esta possa nomear nos seus coutos, de Tavarede e lugar da Figueira, os funcionários administrativos e tabeliães necessários para o bom funcionamento da conduta dos seus povos.
No século XV, em 1456, partem caravelas de Buarcos a caminho de Ceuta e dez anos depois o Príncipe D. João (II) recebe de seu pai, D. Afonso V, a terra de Buarcos , com a jurisdição cível e crime.
No decorrer do século XVI a população é assolada por constantes ataques piratas. Foi então que se fez necessária a construção do Forte de Santa Catarina para a defesa da zona.
Os ataques piratas voltariam a fazer-se sentir no século XVII, tendo a Figueira da Foz e Buarcos sido saqueadas, as igrejas profanadas e o forte de Santa Catarina ocupado.

¡Hey ¿Qué mundos? Llegamos al final de este increíble viaje que nos ayudó a conectarnos con la naturaleza y con el entorno. Como última parada elegimos esta ciudad portuguesa con mucho encanta, esperamos que te guste esta guía sobre lo qué ver en Figueira da Foz, Portugal y todo lo que descubrimos en este lugar.
Uno de los mayores atractivos de este lugar es su inmensa playa, de verdad que parece que no tiene final, por eso hemos querido enseñártela desde diferentes puntos, ademas es el lugar perfecto para huir de las masificaciones (pero no se lo digas a nadie).
Figueiras se encuentra entre Aveiro y Nazaré, ciudades que ya te hemos recomendado con anterioridad, y si no te acuerdas ya sabes que tienes los vídeos en el canal. Esta ciudad pertenece a Coimbra y está en lo que se denomina la región centro, es costera y por lo tanto pesquera, pero curiosamente también tiene una importante industria vidriera. ¿Lo sabías?

Figueira da Foz beach is a very famous, namely for its extensive sandy area. Walking through the pleasant wooden passageways, one comes across to an astonishing ocean, as far as the eye can see.
The beach offers several facilities, such as the typical canvas tents that are the trademark of the beach.
The pedestrian road parallel to the beach is also quite frequented, and provides pleasant leisure moments.

Yeah, you've heard of adventures like bikepacking UK, bikepacking Japan, and Colorado trail bikepacking... but I keep saying bikepacking in Portugal could be the next big thing! There are great options for camping in Municipal and commercial camping grounds if you don't want to use traditional accommodation.
You'll see the ride along the Lagoa da Barrinha, past the Ethnographic Museum of Praia de Mira, and down past a marina into Figueira da Foz.

Figueira da Foz is a coastal resort and harbour at the mouth of the River Mondego.
An important centre of shipbuilding and manufacturing during the 18th and 19th centuries, the city (as it became in 1882) developed into a popular tourist destination during the 1920s and 30s and its two mile long sandy beach.
Buarcos is a traditional fishing town that has grown also as a noted beach resort due to the calm waters of its sea, which is protected by the Boa Viagem small mountain range (Serra da Boa Viagem). Many of its inhabitants still work in the fishing industry but tourism is also an important activity. It has many seafood restaurants and bars. With view over the bay and the extensive beach.
