Canton of Vaud
Vaud is one of the 26 cantons forming the Swiss Confederation. It is composed of ten districts and its capital city is Lausanne. Its flag bears the motto Liberté et patrie on a white-green background.
Vaud is the third largest canton of the country by population and fourth by size. It is located in Romandy, the French-speaking western part of the country; and borders the canton of Neuchâtel to the north, the cantons of Fribourg and Bern to the east, the canton of Valais to the south, the canton of Geneva to the south-west and France to the west. The geography of the canton includes all three natural regions of Switzerland: the Jura Mountains, the Swiss Plateau and the (Swiss) Alps. It also includes some of the largest lakes of the country: Lake Geneva and Lake Neuchâtel. It is a major tourist destination, renowned for its landscapes and gastronomy. The largest city is Lausanne, followed by Yverdon-les-Bains and Montreux. As of 2019 the canton has a population of 805,098. It is one of the four cantons where French is the sole official language. Formerly a Bernese bailiwick, Vaud joined the Swiss Confederation as an independent canton in 1803.
Lavaux
Lavaux is a region in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland, in the district of Lavaux-Oron. Lavaux consist of 830 hectares of terraced vineyards that stretch for about 30 km along the south-facing northern shores of Lake Geneva. Although there is some evidence that vines were grown in the area in Roman times, the actual vine terraces can be traced back to the 11th century, when Benedictine and Cistercian monasteries controlled the area. It benefits from a temperate climate, but the southern aspect of the terraces with the reflection of the sun in the lake and the stone walls gives a mediterranean character to the region. The main wine grape variety grown here is the Chasselas. Under cantonal law, the vineyards of Lavaux are protected from development. Since July 2007, Lavaux is a UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Since 2016, the vineyards of Lavaux are not treated with synthetic pesticides any more. There are many hikes possible through the vineyards of Lavaux. There is a hiking trail (Terrasses de Lavaux), going from Saint-Saphorin to Lutry, recommended by the Tourism Office of Switzerland.
Corseaux
Corseaux is a municipality in the district Riviera-Pays-d'Enhaut in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. Corseaux has an area, as of 2009, of 1.1 square kilometers (0.42 sq mi). Of this area, 0.23 km2 (0.089 sq mi) or 21.7% is used for agricultural purposes, while 0 km2 (0 sq mi) or 0.0% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.83 km2 (0.32 sq mi) or 78.3% is settled (buildings or roads).
Chexbres
Chexbres is a municipality in the Swiss canton Vaud, located in the district of Lavaux-Oron. Chexbres is a wine-growing village and enjoys a good selection of local vintages. It also enjoys notable views of Lake Geneva, and therefore is nicknamed Balcon du Léman in French.
Epesses / Riex / Grandvaux
They are former municipalities in the Swiss canton of Vaud, located in the district of Lavaux-Oron on Lake Geneva. They are noted for its wine production. The municipalities of Cully, Epesses, Grandvaux, Riex and Villette (Lavaux) merged on 1 July 2011 into the new municipality of Bourg-en-Lavaux.
Châtelard - Lutry
Lutry is a municipality in the Swiss canton of Vaud, located in the Lavaux-Oron, which includes the Lavaux region, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Lutry is first mentioned in 908 as in Lustraco villam. In 1124 it was mentioned as monasterium Sancti Martini cum villa quae dicitur Lustriacus and in 1147 it was Lustriey.

Tignes & Chevril Dam - Hidden Gem Of French Alps

We started our morning with visiting boulangerie in village of Faverges to purchase croissants and bread for breakfast. We found a decent spot in French Alps on the way to Tignes where to enjoy the local goods and those from day before when we visited supermarket in Faverges.
After arriving in the stunning town of Tignes where all mountains were covered in snow, we found out that Alltrails app misguided us and the actual hiking trail in the winter turns into a ski trail. Perhaps it was our own doing because it was our first time during winter in French Alps and we might have underestimated the forces of nature.
In the evening we finally got to open gifts that we brought with us from the Netherlands and it was fun to see what we got for each other for Christmas. Surrounded by mountainous French Alps we spent the evening in the communal area cooking and hanging out with other guests

Climbing La Sambuy (Seythenex) On Ski Lift In French Alps

On this rainy day we decided to go to La Sambuy ski resort which is located in the French Alps near rustic village of Faverges.
We didn't have other option but to take the ski lift up to the La Sambuy and the same applied for getting back down to the ski station. We also visited a village, which was randomly chosen on google maps to see the rustic scene of village life in French Alps.
At the end of the day, taking in consideration the rainy and foggy day, we decided to head back to our Mongolian yurt and start packing, leaving plenty of time to cook an awesome and epic meal.
Visit us on the adventure in French Alps and see the beauty of the idleness in the mountains.

bonjour à tous et à toutes, mon premier vlog est en ligne, ce n'est pas du grand art mais ce n'est, esperons qu'un début ;) Je suis partie vers 20h de la belgique, après une petite mesaventure avec ma camionette qui devais passer chez le garagiste derniere minute. Jai roulé un bon 8-9 heures, à la place de 6-7. je voulais faire tranquille et je me suis arreté quelques fois pour me dégourdir les jambes. ma premiere balade je lai trouvé sur MYTRAILS, 'la tournette via chemin du col de l'aulp. Je nai pa fait exactement la meme balade et je me suis un peu devié de la route indiqué. c'est un itineraire aller retour, l avantage cest que tu t arrete quand tu le souhaite. je voulais me garer et passer la nuit je le parking, mais depuis peu, cela est interdit. dont sur PARK4NIGHT jai trouvé un autre emplacemnt, a meme pas 5 minutes, pres de montmin.
voila les coordonnes gps : 45.789684, 6.265061 (lat, lng) N 45° 47' 22.86 , E 6°15'54.21 voile communale n2 de la limite de faverges a la perriere, montmin, ne vous garez pas en plein milieu, il y a un bus qui doit reussir a se tourner ;) mon chien est un berger blanc suisse de 11 mois. merci d 'avoir visionné la video ;) Jutta
