FREE WINTER CAMPING IN TEXAS | Falcon County Park in Falcon Heights, Texas
Good news if you are looking for a free place to camp in Texas (for the long term), or free winter camping in Texas. We spent a few weeks at Falcon County Park in Falcon Heights along the southern border. It is also known as the Free Texas Campground (as it is noted on Google Maps).
Falcon Heights is located in the Rio Grande Valley area, not too far from the Mexican Border. It is about 80 miles south of Laredo on Route 83. The nearest towns to the park are Roma and Rio Grande City – about 30 and 45 minutes south, respectively.

Minneapolis and Saint Paul are some of the two best cities in America. They're also home to some of the most amazing things to do, see, eat, drink and experience. In this video, I give you 15 must-do activities that will help you get started exploring these fantastic places!
Minneapolis and Saint Paul are two cities that are located in the state of Minnesota. They are located on opposite banks of the Mississippi River just north of its confluence with the Minnesota River, which forms the border between the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin at this point. The Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area consists of over 16 cities in Minnesota with a population of 3.6 million people.
Unlike most Twin Cities, Minneapolis (MPLS) is slightly larger by population than Saint Paul, though today it is not as true as it was for most of the 20th Century. Saint Paul has won national acclaim for its beauty and livability.
The two cities have very different histories and they blend beautifully today. Although it's hard to say which is the better of the two, I'm referring to Minneapolis as a much more boring place than Saint Paul (in terms of activities and things to do).
Minneapolis has a lot of fun things for you to do, like the Mill City Museum or the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, in which you can immerse yourself in flour and the history of Minneapolis. Or visit the Science Museum of Minnesota for over 300 interactive exhibits covering science, art, history, and nature in Saint Paul.

hello my friends. this is a map of beautiful falcon lake. Falcon International Reservoir (Spanish: Embalse Internacional Falcón), commonly called Falcon Lake, is a reservoir on the Rio Grande 40 miles southeast of Laredo, Texas, United States, and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The huge lake is bounded by Starr and Zapata Counties on the Texas side of the international border and the municipality and city of Nueva Ciudad Guerrero on the Tamaulipas side. The reservoir was formed by the construction of the Falcon Dam to provide water conservation, irrigation, flood control, and hydroelectricity to the area.
The dam was dedicated in October 1953 by Mexican President Adolfo Ruiz Cortines and U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower. The dam and lake are managed jointly by governments of the United States and Mexico through the International Boundary and Water Commission, which was established in 1889 to maintain the border, allocate river waters between the two nations, and provide for flood control and water sanitation. Falcon International Reservoir has been stocked with species of fish intended to improve the utility of the reservoir for recreational fishing. Fish present in the reservoir include largemouth bass, crappie, catfish, and channel catfish.
The bass population is in decline, a factor which has reduced the number of fishermen and tourists coming to the lake. In 2012, Falcon Lake ranked first for bass in the United States; by 2014, the rank had dropped to number 12. Despite the threat of piracy, security on the lake has been enhanced to the point that State Representative Lyle Larson of San Antonio, a member of the House Committee on Culture, Recreation, and Tourism, declared Falcon Lake, the safest park on the border.
Alligator gar, large and heavy fish with a long lifespan, feed on the largemouth bass and can survive through droughts. In 2009, restrictions were placed on the harvest of alligator gar, but some area residents maintain that no regulations should be in place and that the gar must be considered as if they were rats and be removed from the lake.
On the shores of Falcon Lake are Texas wild olive, Mexican oregano, hibiscus, mesquite thickets, huisache and prickly pear cactus. Greater roadrunners, collared peccaries, white-tailed deer, and black-tailed jackrabbits also exist within the park.
Falcon State Park is 572.6 acres located between Falcon Heights, Texas, and Nueva Ciudad Guerrero, Tamaulipas, and is the southern end of a 98,960-acre International Falcon Reservoir. The park's main activities include camping, swimming, fishing, water skiing, and boating, with a self-guided nature trail.
