Today we’re visiting a really cool city that’s full of contrasts. Leipzig is a place that offers a wonderful mix of lush green spaces with canals, gritty industrial areas that have been given new life, and a beautiful city centre that oozes history.
Over the course of our visit we got to see that Leipzig is a city of many faces, and a few locals even told us the city has earned the nickname 'hype-zig' because it feels like a younger up and coming version of Berlin.

December is the best time to visit Bethlehem! From shopping in the Historic Moravian District to carriage rides throughout downtown to European-inspired Christmas Huts on Main Street, there are tons of things to do here in order to get into the holiday spirit! We’ll give you a glimpse of all of these things and more in this vlog!
Settled by Moravians, a group of Protestants from the Czech-Republic, during the 1700s, Bethlehem has long-standing Christmas traditions that are still celebrated today. Moravian Stars are a staple in Bethlehem as well as Moravian Candles. We’ll showcase these traditions, and stop by the local Christmas Putz, which demonstrates the story of the birth of Jesus.
There’s so much history in this little town of Bethlehem, but we’ve tried to capture the Christmas feeling this town emanates as best as we could during this mini Christmas tour of this charming town in the Lehigh Valley.

For Tim and I, diving into the ocean is like arriving on a distant planet – it’s full of strange and exotic creatures that are completely unknown to us, some of which can be quite dangerous. So as we found ourselves on the shores of the Sulu Sea, one of the most biodiverse expanses of ocean on earth, we were apprehensive to go into the waters where there were spiky and bizarre marine creatures living just below the surface.
But it was the beauty of our rustic beachside cabin in East Malaysia (a place with a view to die for) that finally drew us into the Sulu Sea. Because we might only be here once in our lives…

Welcome to the 29th annual Christkindlmarkt in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania! This German-inspired Christmas market includes traditional artisans, delicious food, and even St. Nicholas will be there! All of this is right down the street from the Bethlehem Steel Stacks in the Southside District!
We’ll start by visiting our favorite section of the market, which is the Käthe Wohlfahrt area. Käthe Wohlfahrt is a German ornament manufacturer and also creates authentic German Christmas decorations, such as the pyramid, schwiboggen, nutcrackers, and the pickle ornament.
The Christkindlmarkt is an open-air market with outdoor igloos, fire pits, ice sculpting, glass blowing, live entertainment, and much more! It’s no wonder Christkindlmarkt has been named one of the top holiday markets in the world by Travel + Leisure and one of the top holiday markets in North America by USA TODAY’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice competition and OprahDaily.com.
Christkindlmarkt is usually held Friday - Sundays in November and then Thursdays-Sundays in December until Christmas week.

Emmaus is a town mentioned in the Gospel of Luke of the New Testament. Luke reports that Jesus appeared, after his death and resurrection, before two of his disciples while they were walking on the road to Emmaus.
Luke 24:13-35 indicates that Jesus appears after his resurrection to two disciples who are walking from Jerusalem to Emmaus, which is described as being 60 stadia (10.4 to 12 km depending on what definition of stadion is used) from Jerusalem. One of the disciples is named Cleopas (verse 18), while his companion remains unnamed.
According to the gospel, the story takes place in the evening of the day of Jesus's resurrection. The two disciples hear that the tomb of Jesus was found empty earlier that day. They are discussing the events of the past few days when a stranger asks them what they are discussing. Their eyes were kept from recognizing him. He rebukes them for their unbelief and explains prophecies about the Messiah to them. On reaching Emmaus, they ask the stranger to join them for the evening meal.
When he breaks the bread, their eyes [are] opened and they recognize him as the resurrected Christ. Jesus immediately vanishes. Cleopas and his friend then hasten back to Jerusalem to carry the news to the other disciples.
A similar event is mentioned in the Gospel of Mark (Mark 16:12–16:13), although the disciples' destination is not stated. This passage is believed by some to be a late addition, derived from the Gospel of Luke.
The incident is not mentioned in the Gospels of Matthew or John.
Archaeological excavations in Imwas started in the late 19th century and continue nowadays. During excavations in Canada Park ( Ayalon forest) ruins of Emmaus fortifications from the Hasmonean era were discovered, along with a Roman bathhouse from the 3rd century CE, and Jewish burial caves from the 1st century CE, Roman-Byzantine hydraulic installations, oil presses, and tombs. Other findings were coins, oil lamps, vessels, and jewelry. The eastern (rear) three-apsidal wall of the Byzantine church was cleared, with an external baptistery and polychrome mosaics, as well as walls of the Crusader church which were built against the central Byzantine apse (12th century). In the area of Emmaus, several Hebrew, Samaritan, Greek, and Latin inscriptions carved on stones have been found.
