We travel with a Microsoft Surface everywhere we go. I edit my videos on it & use it to backup my pictures and vides while we travel. It’s light and the best travel laptop on the market in my opinion.

We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.

We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.

Travel Plug that works in pretty much any country & has four USB ports. A must for any traveler.

Want to grab some great gear? We have used Osprey Packs for years & swear by them. Check them out here

Need some clothing for your next adventure? Patagonia has some pretty good stuff for all kinds of travelers.

Elbląg Canal in Poland Part 1/2

Ostróda - Elbląg Canal, called also Elbląg Canal, is the unique water system connecting several Western Masurian Lakes with Vistula Bay.
This world standard monument of the hydrotechnical art designed by Dutch engineer Jakob Georg Steenke in the beginning of XIX century on the court of Frederick I and II for the economical purpose of water connecting of East Prussia (German: Oberland) with Baltic Sea - waited almost 20 years for the beginning of the construction , (1825-1844).

Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Poland | City of Olsztyn, Elblag, Elk, Ostroda | Drone 4k video

Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Poland. Health-improving rest is useful for all people, but where to spend it qualitatively is a question that worries many. But, there is a wonderful country of Poland, where there are many resorts, sanatoriums for high-quality treatment and rehabilitation. Just such a place is the Warmino-Masurian Voivodeship, and a video review was made about it. Beautiful landscapes, iconic places are visible from a bird's eye view, shot from a drone in high quality (4K), this allows you to visually get acquainted with the sights.

general information
Warmino-Mazury Voivodeship is a land of forests and lakes, located in the northern part of the country, bordering Russia, I rightly call it the “green lungs of the country”, for a huge number of clean water bodies and a rich flora. In principle, the region is considered one of the poorest in Poland, the economy is only developed in animal husbandry and crop production and a little tourism.

Capital
The capital of the voivodship is Olsztyn, a green, ecologically clean city, washed by eleven lakes, which is ideal to visit in the spring and summer. Indeed, due to the length of the city, all the sights are far from each other, and the best way would be to ride a bike or an eco bus. The most important assets of the city are the Old Town and the Olsztyn Cathedral, which are over 600 years old. Olsztyn is also a city of happy people, and quite comfortable for life and work.

Nature (landscapes, beautiful places)
Most of Varmin is located on a flat-hilly territory, with a large number of reservoirs. There are about 2,700 lakes in the voivodship, and the most famous are the Masurian, full-flowing ones, and around there are a huge number of peat bogs, plowed land and meadows. In the vicinity of the Masurian Lake District, rye and potatoes are grown. In the voivodship there is a well-known water canal in Poland - Ostrudo-Elblagsky (82 km), and the largest lake Sniardwy.
The region is rich in forests, where there are bison, swans, as well as an endangered species of turtle (European marsh).

Main cities: Olsztyn, Elbląg, Elk, Kadyny, Ostróda
Olsztyn is the capital of the province, a beautiful city with Gothic architecture, as well as many water channels and lakes, bicycle paths for walking.
Elbląg - the town is famous for its Gothic castles, churches, as well as the only Teutonic castle, which has partially survived to this day.
Elk - It is believed that this is the capital of Masuria, located on the shores of Lake Elk, which was formed by a glacier. Quite large and densely populated, its main attraction is natural sites and the opportunity to go hunting.
Kadyny is a beautiful city with clean, fresh air, its main asset is the Kadyny Country Club hotel (located in a former palace). An ideal place to spend a weekend by the lake, as well as visiting the neighboring Elbląg.
Ostróda is the pearl of Mazury, a city where cycling and water tourism are actively developed. The main attraction is Lake Drwiecke, along which a beautiful embankment is built with many cafes, restaurants, as well as the historic Ostród Castle.

What to watch
When visiting Warmino-Masuria Voivodeship, you should definitely plan a visit to Warmia Termy, the first thermal spa offering treatments and cosmetics made from natural products, thermal water and therapeutic mud.
The Elblągsko-Ostródzki Canal is not only a beautiful tourist spot, but also an important canal where ships ply and are towed on special wagons that were designed back in the 19th century. The canal connects Elbląg and Ostróda and is considered a hydrographic monument.
The family crypt in Rapa, Hitler's bunkers in the forests of the town of Kentishin, and of course visit the famous place where Nicolaus Copernicus wrote his work On the rotation of celestial bodies - the city of Frobork.

Attractions
Among the main attractions that tourists can visit while visiting the region are:
Cathedral of St. Jacob;
Castle-fortress in Lidzbark-Warminsky;
Olsztyn Old Town with castles and Old Town Hall;
Olsztyn Planetarium;
Reserve of water birds on Lake Druzhno;
St. Lipka Cathedral in Kętrzyn;
Water parks and water parks located in Elblag, Gerloz, Mikolajki.

Gdańsk urzeka przepiękną, zachwycającą architekturą i niecodzienną atmosferą. To, naszym zdaniem, najpiękniejsze miasto w całej Polsce.

Elblag 'The Baker's Route' Walking Tour | Eastern Poland | 2024

Elbląg is a city located in northern Poland, in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The city is situated on the Elbląg River, which flows into the Vistula Lagoon. Elbląg has a population of around 120,000 people, making it one of the larger cities in the region.

The history of Elbląg dates back to the 13th century, when it was founded as a Teutonic Knights' fortress. The city quickly grew and became an important trade centre, with its location on the river providing easy access to the Baltic Sea. Elbląg was also known for its shipbuilding industry, and many of the vessels built there were used for trade and exploration.

During World War II, Elbląg was occupied by Germany and suffered extensive damage. After the war, the city was rebuilt and became an important centre for industry, with factories producing a variety of goods, including machinery, electronics, and chemicals.

Today, Elbląg is a popular tourist destination, known for its well-preserved Old Town and historic architecture, which includes Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles. One of the city's most unique attractions is the Elbląg Canal, which was built in the 19th century and features a system of inclined planes that allow boats to be lifted and lowered between different water levels. The canal is considered an engineering marvel and is a popular spot for boat tours and cruises.

Elbląg is a city in northern Poland on the eastern edge of the Żuławy region with 118,582 inhabitants (December 2020). It is the capital of Elbląg County and has been assigned (since 1999) to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. Previously it was the capital of Elbląg Voivodeship (1975–1998) and a county seat within Gdańsk Voivodeship (1945–1975).

Elbląg is one of the oldest cities in the province. Its history dates back to 1237, when the Teutonic Order constructed their fortified stronghold on the banks of a nearby river. The castle subsequently served as the official seat of the Teutonic Order Masters.

Elbląg became part of the Hanseatic League, which contributed much to the city's wealth. Through the Hansa agreement, the city was linked to other major ports like Gdańsk, Lübeck and Amsterdam. Elbląg joined Poland in 1454 and after the defeat of the Teutonic Knights in the Thirteen Years’ War was recognized as part of Poland in the Second Peace of Thorn in 1466. It then flourished and turned into a significant trading point, but its growth was eventually hindered by the Second Northern War and the Swedish Deluge.

The city was transferred to Prussia after the first partition of Poland in 1772. Its trading role greatly weakened, until the era of industrialization, which occurred in the 19th century. It was then that the famous Elbląg Canal was commissioned.

After World War II the city again became part of Poland. The war casualties were catastrophic, especially the severe destruction of the Old Town district, one of the grandest in East Prussia.

Today, Elbląg has over 120,000 inhabitants and is a vibrant city with an attractive tourist base. It serves as an academic and financial center and among its numerous historic monuments is the Market Gate from 1309 and St. Nicholas Cathedral. Elbląg is also known for its archaeological sites, museums and the largest brewery in the country.

The Elbląg Canal, built in 1825–44 under Prussia, is a tourist site of Elbląg. The canal is believed to be one of the most important monuments related to the history of engineering and has been named one of the Seven Wonders of Poland. The canal was also named one of Poland's official national Historic Monuments (Pomnik historii) in 2011. Its listing is maintained by the National Heritage Board of Poland.

And like you expect it, the clips are filmed in 4K HDR (60fps) resolution!

All clips were rendered with Final Cut Pro X.
Enjoy! Hope you guys like it!

Wyszło to przepięknie. I chyba mamy nowy najpiękniejszy zaułek - Ścieżkę Kościelną ;)
Zapraszamy!

Elbląg to miasto na prawach powiatu w województwie warmińsko-mazurskim, siedziba władz powiatu elbląskiego i gminy wiejskiej Elbląg.
Jedno z najstarszych w Polsce i Niemczech (rok założenia 1237, prawa miejskie 1246). Elbląga leży u ujścia rzeki Elbląg do Zalewu Wiślanego.

żołnierzy Wehrmachtu i ok. 4 tys. członków Volkssturmu. W czasie walk poległo ok. 5 tys. Niemców. Reszta trafiła do niewoli. Agrykola). Zaciekłe walki na przełomie stycznia i lutego obróciły miasto w gruzy. Zniszczona została zabytkowa zabudowa Starego Miasta, a także całe Śródmieście. Trudne do określenia były cywilne straty ludzkie.

W latach 80. przystąpiono do budowy centrum miasta, jednakże zamiast odbudowywać kamienice, by przypominały te przedwojenne, wybudowano nowoczesne budynki o kształcie i wielkości zbliżonej do średniowiecznych.

Nowe kamieniczki nawiązują architektura do średniowiecznej zabudowy tworząc ciekawy układ.

Nad miastem góruje Kościół katedralny św. Mikołaja, XIII–XV wiek, przebudowany po pożarze spowodowanym wyładowaniem atmosferycznym 26 stycznia 1777, z cennym wyposażeniem wnętrza (późnogotyckie tryptyki, gotyckie drewniane figury apostołów w nawie głównej, chrzcielnica brązowa z 1387, gotycki relikwiarz Krzyża św., płyty nagrobne z połowy XIII wieku).

Kościół katedralny św. Mikołaja jest jedną z najwyższych świątyń w Polsce – wysokość wieży wynosi 97 m.

---------------------------------
Elbląg is a one of the oldest in Poland and Germany (established in 1237, city rights in 1246). Elbląg is situated at the mouth of the Elbląg River to the Vistula Lagoon.
In 2021, Elbląg had 117,952 inhabitants and was the second most populous city (after Olsztyn) in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.

Since the beginning of the war, Elbląg has been almost untouched by military operations. When at the beginning of 1945 the Red Army entered East Prussia, German soldiers began to arrive in Elbląg.

The first units of the Soviet army approached Elbląg on January 23, 1945. In a short time the city was surrounded on three sides. Heavy fighting began. The Nazi forces in the city numbered about 10,000. Wehrmacht soldiers and about 4 thousand. members of the Volkssturm. About 5,000 people died during the fighting. the Germans. The rest were taken prisoner. 2,731 Soviet soldiers from the 2nd Shock Army and the 5th Guards Tank Army of the 2nd Belorussian Front under the command of Marshal K. Rokossowski also died in the fighting. The city was occupied by the Red Army on February 10, 1945 (the Monument of Gratitude was erected after the war in Agrykola Street in honor of Soviet soldiers). Fierce fighting in late January and early February reduced the city to rubble.

In the 1980s, the construction of the city center began, but instead of rebuilding the tenement houses to resemble the pre-war ones, modern buildings were built with a shape and size similar to the medieval ones. The works on the foundations resulted in the unveiling of the foundations of the former buildings, which showed the greatness and wealth of the former Elbląg.

The city is dominated by the Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas, 13th–15th century, rebuilt after a fire caused by a lightning discharge on January 26, 1777, with valuable interior furnishings (late Gothic triptychs, Gothic wooden figures of the apostles in the central nave, a bronze baptismal font from 1387, a Gothic reliquary of the Holy Cross, tombstones from the mid-13th century ).

Koniec XIX i początek XX wieku to okres dynamicznego rozwoju miasta.

???????? Stare Miasto w Elblągu - niesamowite spotkanie z odbudowanym Starym Miastem | Starówka Elbląska

Elbląg Old Town (Stare Miasto) - where all former beauty has been restored after the devastation the city suffered in the Second World War.

Elbląg is a city in northern Poland, assigned to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.

There’s so much to see and do when you visit Elbląg:
1. Climb up the Market Gate Tower (Brama Targowa) - The Market Gate (Brama Targowa) is the only surviving part of the old defensive walls surrounding Elbląg. Climb up to the top to catch some panoramic views of Elbląg

2. Visit the Museum of Archaeology and History - The museum houses fascinating exhibits from various archaeological sites. Areas excavated include the Old Town in Elbląg and Truso – the former Viking trade settlement

3. Walk down “Church Path” (Ścieżka kościelna) - Check out this narrow passage between tenement houses. The purpose of the path was to connect three churches of the Old Town. Part of the church path leading from St. Nicholas Cathedral to the convent of the Virgin Mary was destroyed. Only this section linking Ulica Ducha Świętego (Holy Spirit Street) and Mostowa Streets survived

4. Visit St. Nicholas Cathedral

5. In the summer months, you might be lucky to catch the outdoor exhibition on the revitalisation of Elbląg

6. Walk down Old Market Street (Ulica Stary Rynek) - the heart of Elbląg Old Town

All in all, if you’re staying in Gdańsk for a longer time, and have wheels, Elbląg is just a 45-minute drive away.
