Mount SINAI SUMMIT Climb (Dahab, EGYPT) - South Sinai EGYPT | Egypt Travel Vlog, Breathtaking SUNSET

We wanted to visit the world famous Mount SINAI SUMMIT in South Sinai EGYPT during our visit to Dahab! With Mount Sinai meaning so much to so many people, we wanted to visit St. Catherine, 2 hours outside of Dahab, Egypt and reach the top of Mount Sinai for a BREATHTAKING SUNSET.

The South Sinai of Egypt has so much to see and experience. Hiking Mt. Sinai in Egypt was extremely difficult, but thanks to our guide Ahmed, it was one of our most memorable days and we highly recommend it if you are thinking about what to do in Egypt.

Unfortunately the St. Catherine Monastery was closed when we visited, but it did not take away from the ultimate satisfaction of climbing Mount Sinai and reaching its summit for an incredible sunset we will never forget.

The day was filled with so many surprises, including meeting some incredible friendly people at the Mt. Sinai Summit. We hope you enjoy it and when you’re planning where to go in Egypt, you add Mount Sinai and St. Catherine to your list as it definitely is one of the top places to visit in Egypt in our opinion!

2021 Guide to PYRAMIDS OF EGYPT and Sphinx - Avoid scammer Cairo GIZA

Top 3 Scams You’ll Run Into At The Pyramids Of Giza & How To Avoid Them

The Egyptian Pyramids are a symbol known worldwide to the old and young alike. Standing majestically tall as a testament to the prosperity of the ancient Egyptian civilization, the pyramids welcome 14.7 admirers to their grounds every year.

To those who visit, the pyramids act as a portal into history. Being from Rome myself, I understand what it means to grow up and live steeped in tales of the past and surrounded by ruins of once-glorious monuments. Something unique about it reaches into your soul and connects you through a spiritual line to your ancestors and those gone before you.

However, the pyramids stand out. There’s something mesmerizing about them with their unique sense of mystery and unparalleled wonder. You simply stand and stare at their lofty sides and grand peaks in awe.

While you’re doing this, there’s a lot of hustle-bustle around you. Noise, movement, people zipping every which way, and it can get overwhelming – fast. Especially if you’re not familiar with the area. This is when the danger of being scammed arises.

If you’re not prepared, your dream trip can turn into a nightmare. Taxi drivers conspiring with rogue sellers to get a commission; touts trying to sell you a statue or papyrus for extortionate prices. You might even meet the odd seller or two who’ll give you a nice upfront price and charge you three times as much after!

While it’s not prevalent, it’s just present enough that you need to be aware of it.

So, let’s take a look at some of the most common scams you might run into. We’ll go through the signs to look out for and how to avoid them.

The most common scams you’ll run into at the pyramids

You could come across the first scam before you even get to the pyramids. It’s important not to fall at this hurdle because a domino effect of scams could follow shortly behind if you do.

If you’re not traveling with a tour, you’ll likely reach the pyramids by taxi.

Without thinking, it’s tempting to just flag down a street cab, negotiate a price, and then go.

After driving through Cairo traffic for a while, the pyramids appear on the horizon. As you continue on, you can feel them getting closer. THEN suddenly, the taxi takes a turn, and before you know it, you’re stopped on an unknown street surrounded by horse and camel barns.

It’s here that the taxi driver will inform you that the only way to get to the pyramid’s entrance is by horse carriage. Subsequently, he’ll invite you into a dingy office where a suspicious co-conspirator will offer you outrageously expensive trips. For this, the taxi man will walk away with a share of whatever you pay.

How do you avoid this?

The simple answer is Uber. It’s my go-to service no matter where I’m going in Cairo, and the price is thankfully fixed. Be sure to demand to be dropped off at an official ticket booth and accept no other suggestions.

JOIN THE FACEBOOK PAGE!

Overcharging Camel Rides

The freedom and fun of riding a camel at the Giza pyramids are irresistible. You’ll be surrounded by other’s enjoying the ride and will likely be tempted to follow suit. However, there’s one thing you need to keep in mind before mounting.

While most ride vendors are honest, you’ll find a few bad apples among them. So, it’s essential that you’re sure of a fixed price before you sit down atop the camel. Be sure to repeat the fixed price many times and determine whether the vendor is dealing with you in Euro or Eqyptian Pound. You may agree on a price in Egyptian Pound only to be told after that it should be Euro. If all fails, bring paper and a pen with you to write it down in front of the seller.

Bonus: 400 to 500 Egyptian pounds is a reasonable price for a standard camel ride. You shouldn’t agree to pay more unless you have special requirements or want to keep the ride for your entire visit.

No Access To The Pyramids

Before you think that there’s a one-size-fits-all ticket for the pyramids, think again. There are actually 2 tickets: one for the Giza Plateau and the other to the inside of the Great Pyramid.

Whether you’re buying from a tour agency or a third party, it’s imperative that you tell them you want an inside ticket if that’s what you’re after. Otherwise, you could end up paying extra charges to get into the pyramids on-location. The guide may even prevent you from entering the pyramids, claiming they’re closed simply because they don’t want to go in.

And there you have it, the scams to keep an eye out for on your trip. If you can avoid all of the above-listed dangers, you’re in for the journey of your life! Have fun!

Travel With Us To The Beautiful And Ancient Country of Egypt | TourExpect

Egypt, a country linking northeast Africa with the Middle East, dates to the time of the pharaohs. Millennia-old monuments sit along the fertile Nile River Valley, including Giza's colossal Pyramids and Great Sphinx as well as Luxor's hieroglyph-lined Karnak Temple and Valley of the Kings tombs. The capital, Cairo, is home to Ottoman landmarks like Muhammad Ali Mosque and the Egyptian Museum, a trove of antiquities.

MONEY in EGYPT: Handy Guide on Currency in Egypt

How Egyptian money look like ? what currency should I use in Egypt ? are credit card available ? In this video I' ll try to give you useful informations regarding money in Egypt.

EURUSD or EGP ?

Many tourists prefer to use their home currency in Egypt- the Euro, the dollar or any other - because they’ re afraid of making mistakes when dealing with banknotes and coins they have never seen before.

???????????? I buy my crypto at the Exchange with the Best Customer Support! CoinMetro:
????

-US dollars, Euros - Hard currencies are accepted in most touristic areas and hotels, But a tourist site that accepts payments in U.S. dollars, will likely have extremely poor exchange rates compared to banks for instance, and you'll end up paying much more that you would have if purchased with EGP

So, in my opinion, It’s better to pay with Egyptian pounds because you will get a better rate, and using local currency shows respect for the local people, no matter where you travel.

And if you’ re afraid of mixing it up when using this new currency, keep on watching this video as I will show you how the Egyptian Pounds they look like, their value, and general trips that will help you dealing with money while traveling in Egypt, but also other countries for that matter.

EGYPTIAN BANKNOTES
It is very important to be familiar with the local banknotes.
All Egyptian money have written text in both English and Arabic with a numeric value.
Coins come in denominations of: 1 Egyptian pound as well as 25 and 50 piasters

Banknotes come in denomination of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 EGP.

CARRY SMALL BILLS

Make sure you’ve got a variety of small bills and coins at the ready for purchases such as food, souvenirs, and attraction entry fees.
You don’ t wanna pull out a 200 Egyptian pounds bill while attempting to buy a 20 pound souvenir. First of all, it’ ll take you more time to ascertain whether the change is right, but mostly - you wanna avoid finding yourself in the situation where the vendor claims to “have no change” , in which case you may end up not taking the full change or wondering over nearby shops trying to find someone who’ s gonna change your money.

You should always try to pay as near to the price as you can, if for instance your taxi ride is 35 egp, you wanna have with you some 10s and 5s or, or at least a 50 egp note.

Withdraw odd amounts from ATMs to get small bills, and always try to break big bills at fancier establishments.

DIVIDE YOUR MONEY
Dividing your money not only will allow you to rapidly find the notes you need, but also to offset risk in the unfortunate case your wallet gets lost or snatched.

Make money preparation part of your morning routine: As you’re packing your bag, Squirrel away larger bills in your under-clothing money pouch, or tuck them into a secure part of your wallet or bag.

divvy up your travel cash and even credit cards into multiple safe spots.

Whenever possible, If you have all your money in one place, it only takes one incident for a thief to totally wipe you out. leave all the cards and cash you won’t need immediately in a secure location in your hotel or vacation rental.
hen possible,

If you’re smart about how you distribute your funds, you’ll still have enough money to get to a police station or back to your hotel

Tipping is a custom in Egypt, it is nice to follow but do not make some bad people force you to do what you do not want or do not feel like.

It  must be YOU who keeps control of the situation and not be embarrassed by some bad people who try to force you to tip them, even though they may ask you for it.

CREDIT CARDS

All major cards are accepted in midrange and high-end establishments. In remote areas they remain useless. You may be charged a percentage of the sale in fees (anywhere between 3% and 10%).

1) Keep your Bank In-the-know
Before jetting off, make sure you let your bank know that you will be travelling and to where. This will stop your account from being frozen once you arrive in a destination. Set up a daily withdrawal limit as this will prevent large fraudulent activity if your card is stolen. It will also help you to control personal spending, keeping you within your daily budget – win, win!
Retain receipts to check later against your statements is always a good practives.
Visa and Mastercard can be used for cash advances at Banque Misr and the National Bank of Egypt,.

CHANGE MONEY

US dollars, euros and British pounds are the easiest to change (and change back at the end of your stay). Inspect the bills you’re given, and don’t accept any badly defaced, shabby or torn notes because you’ll have difficulty offloading them later.

Even if you want to travel egypt and have holiday in red sea holiday in sharm el sheikh holiday in hurgada or visit the pyramids in cairo but avoid scammer in cairo egypt travel information
