About Akwa Ibom
Akwa Ibom is a state in Nigeria.[4] It is located in the coastal southern part of the country, lying between latitudes 4°32′N and 5°33′N, and longitudes 7°25′E and 8°25′E. The state is located in the South-South geopolitical zone, and is bordered on the east by Cross River State, on the west by Rivers State and Abia State, and on the south by the Atlantic Ocean and the southernmost tip of Cross River State.
Akwa Ibom is one of Nigeria's 36 states, with a population of over five million people in 2016. The state was created on September 23,1987,[5] by Ibrahim Babangida from the former Cross River State and is currently the highest oil- and gas-producing state in the country. The state's capital is Uyo, with over 500,000 inhabitants. Akwa Ibom has an airport and two major seaports on the Atlantic Ocean with a proposed construction of a seaport at Ibaka, Oron. The state also has a 30,000-seat sports complex which is shaped like the Allianz Arena stadium.[6] Akwa Ibom state is also home to the Ibom E-Library, an information centre.[7] In addition to English, the main spoken languages are Ibibio, Annang, Ekid, Oro and Obolo.

It is the political and cultural capital of the Annang ethnic group and also a historical town in the south- southern state in Nigeria.
This town is located on the highway that is parallel to the coast, between Calabar to the south east and Aba to the west, with the state capital, Uyo, on this road just to the east.

Akwa Ibom state is also known as the Land of Promise and it is one of the most beautiful states in the country. The state capital is located in Uyo, which has a beautiful landscape and excellent road network.
This is one of the beaches on the Atlantic Ocean along the shorelines of Ibeno. It is the longest sand beach in West Africa, and it is located in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
The exact location of this attraction centre in Akwa Ibom state is Ibeno, a Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State in south-south Nigeria. However, history has it that the title “Ibeno beach” was coined from its location, “Ibeno.”
The beach is one of the tourist attractions in Nigeria. Also, in June 2010, there was a report of oil spills on the beach.
The beach is often patronized by visitors from southeastern, south-south and north-central parts of Nigeria who desire to take time off their schedules and relax at Ibeno beach.
The beach is located in Ibeono Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State. It is in the Akwa Ibom south senatorial district. Ibeono town is also close to Eket and Onna Local Government Areas. It shares a border with Mbo Local Government Area and the Atlantic Ocean.
Ibeono beach is as long as 30 kilometres spreading across the Atlantic coastline of the state. It is much-touted to be West Africa’s longest beach. Ibeono beach provides an aesthetically-pleasing coastline, which provides facilities for beach volley, boating, water sporting and relaxation.
The beach is blessed with limitless white sand that continues to trail along the seashore of the Atlantic. The Ibeono beach has a lot of waves that dance with torrents on its shore.
According to historical sources, Ibeno indigenes have been around the beachside since 1200-1500 BC.
The beautiful lineup of trees offers a wonderful shelter from the stinging sunray as it is a shade for relaxation and resting after playing on the beach.
Ibono beach also overlooks the Gulf of Guinea, and one can see the gas flares from the Mobil oil company from some parts of the beach.
