Historic archaeological sites, Buddhist temples, and decommissioned Air Force aircraft are just some of the attractions available. The majority of the sights can be seen on a single day, typically in the morning or afternoon, due to their proximity to one another. One of the best things to do in Fort Walton Beach is to visit John C. Beasley Park. The park features one of the finest beaches in the area, which is located on Okaloosa Island. It has beautiful white sand and is less crowded than other beaches.
Other places of interest include getting aboard the Cattywampus Catamaran. Seeing this masterpiece while at sea will no doubt be a fascinating experience. Up to 43 passengers can enjoy a cruise in the beautiful Gulf of Mexico aboard this double-hulled vessel. Another of the best things to do in Fort Walton Beach is parasailing off the shores of Fort Walton Beach. Riding a parachute behind a fast motorboat is an adrenaline rush unlike any other.
Touring the Downtown district is another incredibly rewarding thing to do in Fort Walton Beach. Downtown district is home to a thriving arts and entertainment scene and a wide variety of restaurants, cafes, and bars. Featured on HGTV and Good Morning America, Crab Island’s fame has been growing at a rapid pace. The shallow emerald green waters, obstacle courses and floating bars have made it one of the most popular things to do on the entire Gulf Coast. Today, Crab Island is nothing more than a raised sandbar. At one point, it actually was an island, but sands from the Gulf of Mexico have eroded it over the years to turn it into what it is today.
