Mill Creek Downtown, Washington - Drive 4K
Mill Creek is a city in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. It is located between the cities of Everett and Lynnwood, approximately 20 miles (32 km) northeast of Seattle. The city has a population of 18,244 as of the 2010 census and is estimated to have over 20,000 residents as of 2018. The city lies along State Route 527 and North Creek, a tributary of the Sammamish River, on the east side of Interstate 5.
The city is one of the wealthiest suburbs in the Seattle metropolitan area and was originally a planned community conceived in the 1970s. The planned development was centered around a country club and golf course, with other development occurring nearby in later phases. It was incorporated as a city in 1983, shortly after the completion of the first phase of development, and underwent major population growth due to continued suburban development and annexation of nearby areas. The city's downtown area is centered around the Mill Creek Town Center, a mixed-use lifestyle center and retail complex that opened in 2004.

Mill Creek COE Park Campground - Piney Woods of East Texas
In the last weekend in June of 2020, the Two Tired Teachers visited Mill Creek COE Park Campground in the Piney Woods of East Texas. The park is in Brookeland, TX which is less than 10 miles from Jasper.
The park has 110 campsites; and when we were there, probably around 100 of the sites were being used. At the state parks, almost every other site is closed due to the Covid 19 pandemic. We weren't dangerously close to anyone, but we were more comfortable with the distancing at the state parks.
Lots of the campers had boats. The campground itself has two loops, a 30 amp loop and a 50 amp loop. Almost every site in the 50 amp loop had a place for the RV, the tow vehicle, and a boat.
The boat ramp is completely separate from the campsites. It is a public boat ramp, and it made it nice for people trying to leave the park to not have to try to maneuver around the boats.
The campground also has a beautiful swim and beach area in the day use part; however, if you've watched other of our videos you know that we aren't swimming in 2020 due Covid 19.
Mill Creek had lots of squirrels playing around the pine trees. Evidently, some of the squirrels are clumsy because on two separate occasions, we saw squirrels fall out of the trees. We also heard the thud, but the squirrels didn't seem to be hurt.
Mill Creek COE Park is another park that is about an hour and a half from Houston. This park is northeast of Houston. That probably helps explain why the park is so full. Having lived in the Fort Worth/Dallas Metroplex, we are very familiar with people from major cities wanting a weekend getaway and filling the parks anywhere close to the cities.
Site 66, the site we were in is a beautiful campsite. One of the pluses of site 66 is that the road narrows some right at the site, so no one can park a boat across the street from the site.

Our July 2022 trip to Northern Michigan and the UP included a few days in and around Mackinaw City. As the northern most tip of Lower Michigan it is home to the Mackinac Bridge which connects the upper peninsula to lower Michigan. Besides the beautiful views of both Lake Huron and Lake Michigan there are a ton of things to do and see when you visit. We spent part of our day riding our bicycles around town checking out the great city parks, taking in the views of the Mackinac Bridge, visited the Historic Mill Adventure Park and explored the Headlands International Dark Sky Park.
