Vicenza is a city in northeastern Italy. It is in the Veneto region, at the northern base of the Monte Berico, where it straddles the Bacchiglione River. Vicenza is approximately 60 kilometres (37 mi) west of Venice and 200 kilometres (120 mi) east of Milan.
Vicenza is a thriving and cosmopolitan city, with a rich history and culture, and many museums, art galleries, piazzas, villas, churches and elegant Renaissance palazzi. With the Palladian villas of the Veneto in the surrounding area, and his renowned Teatro Olimpico (Olympic Theater), the city of Palladio has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994.
In December 2008, Vicenza had an estimated population of 115,927 and a metropolitan area of 270,000. Vicenza is the third-largest Italian industrial centre as measured by the value of its exports, and is one of the country's wealthiest cities, in large part due to its textile and steel industries, which employ tens of thousands. Additionally, about one fifth of the country's gold and jewelry is made in Vicenza, greatly contributing to the city's economy. Another important sector is the engineering/computer components industry (Federico Faggin, the microprocessor's co-inventor, was born in Vicenza).

Padova è un comune italiano di 207 423 abitanti, capoluogo della provincia omonima in Veneto. Si trova all'estremità orientale della Pianura Padana e all'interno del bacino idrografico del Bacchiglione.
Fondata secondo la leggenda dal principe troiano Antenore, la città fu abitata fin dal XIII secolo a.C. dai Veneti. Durante la loro permanenza nel IV secolo a.C. furono costretti a difendersi dai ripetuti attacchi dei Galli e in questa occasione entrarono in contatto con la civiltà romana con la quale stabilirono solidi legami. Assunto il titolo di municipio, nel I secolo Padova, in latino Patavium, era la più ricca città d'Italia dopo Roma.
La città fu una delle capitali culturali del Trecento, grazie alla presenza della signoria dei Carraresi o Da Carrara, che fecero di Padova uno dei principali centri del preumanesimo. Tra il XIV secolo e il XV secolo si sviluppò in concomitanza con Firenze la corrente culturale nota come Rinascimento padovano, e influenzerà la compagine artistica dell'intera Italia settentrionale del Quattrocento.
A Padova sono presenti due siti dichiarati patrimonio dell'umanità dall'UNESCO: l'orto botanico, il più antico al mondo e i cicli di affreschi del XIV secolo, conservati in otto complessi edilizi tra cui la cappella degli Scrovegni.
Dal 1222, Padova è sede di un'università tra le più antiche del mondo.
Padova è conosciuta come la città dei tre senza, da il Caffè senza porte (Caffè Pedrocchi, aperto 24 ore al giorno in passato), il Prato senz'erba (Prato della Valle), il Santo senza nome (Basilica di Sant'Antonio, conosciuta dai padovani come il Santo).
Padova è collocata all'estremità orientale della pianura Padana, circa 10 km a nord dei Colli Euganei e circa 20 km a ovest della laguna di Venezia. Il territorio comunale si sviluppa su 93 km2 interamente pianeggianti e solcati da vari corsi d'acqua, che hanno dato nei secoli forma e protezione alla città.
La città poggia su un terreno composto di materiali fini e limoso-sabbiosi, mentre i sedimenti ghiaiosi sono rari. La distribuzione dei vari livelli stratigrafici è molto irregolare a causa delle frequenti divagazioni e variazioni che i corsi dei suoi fiumi hanno subito durante l'ultima era geologica (si veda per esempio la rotta della Cucca). A ovest della città, nelle aree rurali del quartiere Montà sono ben visibili vari paleoalvei del fiume Brenta.
Considerando l'elevazione del territorio comunale si può notare che:
- il territorio ha un'elevazione media compresa tra 10 e 15 metri sopra il livello del mare;
- il nucleo storico con al centro Palazzo della Ragione si trova leggermente sopraelevato rispetto al territorio circostante, rendendo tale posizione più appetibile per la fondazione del primo nucleo insediativo;
- molti quartieri di Padova si trovano sotto i 10 metri di quota, come Pozzoveggiani e Crocifisso a sud, l'interporto, Granze di Camin.
La città è nata e si è sviluppata all'interno dei bacini idrografici dei fiumi Brenta e Bacchiglione, che hanno fortemente condizionato il tessuto urbano e presentano scorci suggestivi in molti angoli della città.
In passato, tali corsi d'acqua erano fondamentali per l'economia cittadina, in particolar modo per la presenza di numerosi mulini e per la loro funzione commerciale, secondariamente per congiungere tramite barche la città con la vicina Venezia e gli altri centri della provincia di Padova. Inoltre, i canali hanno rappresentato a lungo un valido complemento delle opere di fortificazione della città. Le opere di ingegneria fluviale che si sono susseguite nel corso dei secoli, soprattutto per impulso del Magistrato alle Acque della Repubblica di Venezia, hanno permesso di ridurre il rischio di esondazioni che interessano il tessuto urbano della città; gli ultimi grandi lavori risalgono però all'Ottocento. L'attuale complesso sistema di collegamenti e chiuse tra i canali cittadini è in grado di gestire e far defluire onde di piena anche significative, senza gravi pericoli per la città. Le aree a rischio, solo in presenza di piene di dimensioni eccezionali, sono la zona sud-orientale di Terranegra (il cui nome deriva dalle esondazioni a cui era spesso soggetta nei secoli passati), e quella sud-occidentale di Paltana.
I corsi d'acqua cittadini principali sono:
- Brenta, che ha origine dai laghi di Levico e Caldonazzo, e delimita il quartiere Nord dai comuni limitrofi.
- Bacchiglione, che nasce dalle risorgive tra Dueville e Villaverla in provincia di Vicenza; dopo aver ricevuto a Tencarola le acque del Brenta tramite il canale Brentella, entra in città al Bassanello da ovest dove si divide in tre tronchi.

This magnificent luxury #villa for sale is in one of the wonderful island of Capri's most exclusive areas, surrounded by nature and overlooking one of Italy's most beautiful seas. The villa dates back to the 1940s and was commissioned by film producer Carlo Ludovico Bragaglia, who chose a paradise setting full of wonderful properties surrounded by 19th-century fairy-tale gardens. This prestigious estate is in a high and incredibly panoramic position, protected by a colourful park full of typically-Mediterranean plants.
This estate is composed of two adjoining villas that are not connected. The enchanting main villa has four floors, measures 800 m2, and features an architecture typically found in #Capri, made of limestone walls of a typical bright white colour.
The interiors are a triumph of big state halls with refined marble floors, period furniture, ancient Roman artifacts, elegant bedrooms with a sitting room and private bathroom, chestnut parquet floors, wrought-iron lamps, majolica stoves, 18th-century furniture, and valuable ceramic floors that were put when this property was built and restored where necessary thanks to expert artisans that faithfully have reproduced them.
The halls have direct access on porticoes and the three patios located on the ground floor; while the sleeping area, on the upper floor, is accessible from a chestnut staircase. On the first floor there are four bedrooms for guests, with bathrooms and walk-in closets, while the second floor is home to the master apartment, composed of two bedrooms, bathrooms, a big hall and breathtaking views of Naples, Ischia, the Vesuvius, and Villa Jovis.
The third floor is home to a bedroom with bathroom and walk-in closet, a loggia and a big terrace with 360-degree views.
The latest domotics and a/c systems guarantee all comforts and complete this refined villa's countless valuable features.
The second villa is smaller but has the same impact; it is for guests and built in the 1950s.
It measures approximately 400 m2 and features spacious and bright rooms with a 360-degree view. The park surrounding it is full of a well-tended botanic variety: so far, approximately 150 species have been cataloged, from typical lemon plants and fruit trees to tropical plants. The stone paths crossing this garden run close to the fruit orchard, the lemon conservatory and relaxation areas with stone or brickwork benches and tables.
There are also many sports and leisure opportunities: the park is home to a big swimming pool made of Bisazza glass with a travertine marble perimeter and a jacuzzi, a tennis court and a five-a-side football field, and a bowles area.
This luxury villa, a true gem of Capri, has seen the likes of many famous guests, including Prince Antonio De Curtis, more famously known as Totò.

Pullman is located in Gaafu Alifu atoll, the deepest atoll of the Maldives. With its depth brings incredible marine life, plenty of fantastic reef sharks and beautiful islands. Located a 1-hour domestic flight from Malé, Pullman sits on a beautiful natural island with beautiful, lush foliage, sand walkways and stunning beaches. The property is quite large at 18 hectares and even has one of the only natural lakes in the Maldives.
The rooms at Pullman are fantastic. Even the most basic Beach Villa sits at over 2,000 square feet with beautiful indoor and outdoor living spaces.
We had the opportunity to stay in an Ocean Pool Villa facing a direct sunrise view. At 1,775 square feet, the pool villa features a stunning, private outdoor patio as well as a bedroom and outdoor bathroom. As you enter the villa through a private gate, you access the outdoor covered patio complete with an L-shaped sofa and comfortable sitting chair. The pool extends outwards towards the view and has two comfortable chaise lounges next to it with an umbrella. There is a small dinette outside next to the outdoor shower and access via ladder to the lagoon.
We also had the opportunity to spend a night in one of the two Aqua Villas. The Aqua Villas are the underwater suites that feature an above-water suite with a king bedroom, full separate living room, large primary bath, outdoor patio with pool as well as the underwater bedroom. At 1,219 square feet, the room is impressive on its own but is truly magical below the lagoon. The underwater bedroom is stunning with a small coral garden that attracts a variety of fish including lion fish, sharks and tropical reef fish throughout the day and night.
All of the bars and restaurants have the same beverage menus. We would love to see them incorporate signature drinks at each dining venue to spice up the options a bit. Also, it is required to have reservations at any a la carte dining restaurant for dinner. I would recommend going to the restaurant directly to make reservations as the front desk often said the outlets were full, when in reality they sat very much empty. It seemed much easier for guests to make reservations at the restaurants themselves. If you do arrive on night 1 and are told the dining outlets are full and you must go to the buffet, I would recommend checking around at the restaurants first just in case there is an open slot. This will no doubt be tougher in high season, but worth checking in case guests abandon their reservations in favor of room service. That being said, the dining options were excellent and we did love the variety in health-focused options across the board.
Overall, we absolutely loved our experience at Pullman. We have been recommending this resort for years and will absolutely continue to do so, particularly with the value of the offer on luxury escapes that has been consistently bringing them new business. While there are certainly areas that, if fixed, would bring them to a five star experience, the price is frankly unbeatable for the quality of the resort.

Venise : Entre Histoire et Romantisme, la Sérénissime qui Défie les Marées
Venise aurait pu être engloutie à l’image de la cité de l’Atlantide. Mais c’était sans compter sur les amoureux de la ville qui l’entretiennent et sur la communauté internationale qui la restaure et la protège en construisant des digues amovibles lui permettant de survivre aux marées et au temps.
Au fil de ses canaux, elle nous raconte son histoire, ses traditions : du temps de sa puissance commerciale et militaire à son actuelle attractivité touristique.
Venise n’est pas seulement une ville qui regorge d’œuvres architecturales, comme son Palais des Doges, son célèbre pont du Rialto ou sa Place Saint Marc.
Venise c’est aussi des ambiances romantiques, avec ses canaux désertés, son Ghetto Juif et son café Florian lieu de rendez-vous des artistes depuis 1720.
Des plus beaux monuments au pied desquels les visiteurs se pressent en masse, à l’intimité du palais rénové d’un aristocrate, celle que l’on appelle « la Sérénissime » se fait à la fois fière et attachante.
Cité musée, cité des artisans des ateliers de verre à Murano, cité d’illustres personnages comme Casanova, Venise est multiple, ce qui la rend si insaisissable.
Et lorsque la lumière mordorée des fins de journée d’automne vient enlacer la Sérénissime, c’est à bord d’une gondole qu’elle dévoile tous ses charmes.

Video-Racconto con foto dall'album di mia madre, Cecilia Adorni. Lo pubblico perché rappresenta una documentazione originale su com'era Milano Marittima nel Passato.
Vacanze estive che vanno dall'estate 1939, prima della sua nascita, alla mia a inizi '71 quando casa di villeggiatura era Villa Ginanni Fantuzzi (la Famiglia di mia nonna materna) fatta costruire in pineta da mio bisnonno conte Pietro Ginanni Fantuzzi, discendente di illustri antenati di Ravenna e Roma e che, longevo fino al 1990, ho ben conosciuto come la moglie (mia bisnonna Clelia) vissuta a Roma e che a Milano Marittima adorava le terme.
Questa villa oggi non esiste più, sostituita da una tri-familiare nel '79, dopo la vendita per l'acquisto di altre case sempre a Milano Marittima adiacenze MarePineta (..dov'erano dal 1913 le Ville Bianchi, uno dei fondatori) e dove mia nonna, lasciati Parioli di Roma, divenne residente stabile tutto l'anno come tuttora mia zia. Disegnata dall'Arch. Michele Busiri Vici in stile razionalista seppur simile ai precedenti villini Liberty Anni '20 per cubatura, tetto spiovente e terrazza, venne edificata sul lotto acquistato nel '38 in Viale Matteotti (all'epoca Arnaldo Mussolini..ante vulgata) dove sorse Villa Graziani, che nel Dopoguerra fu l'hotel Deanna (poi Promenade) il primo gestito dalla futura nota famiglia di albergatori Benzi con Italo e moglie Bettina e gli allora figlioli Giacomo(Mino) e Deanna (divenne amica di mia madre e oggi conosco la figlia Natascia Giulianini) mentre sull'altro lato del grande giardino, poi ceduto, sorse il famoso ristorante La Lanterna da Beppe con la moglie Colette (odierno La Baya).
Mi racconta oggi mia madre che da bambina le ville a Milano Marittima, seppur numerose, erano distanziate. Ricorda l'adiacente Villa Perelli divenuto il Touring, Villa Guidi, Villa Guzzinati (amici di Torino con generazioni di famosi fantini) Villa Damerini, Villa De Maria; mentre altre risalivano agli Anni '20: Villa Egle Balbo (sorella del famoso aviatore, amica di famiglia), l'albergo Mare e Pineta all'epoca con maneggio (la zia Perla, sorella di sua mamma Susi che qui giocava a tennis, cavalcava persino in spiaggia), Villa Palanti del disegnatore milanese Giuseppe Palanti (con la nipote coetanea di mia madre) che di Milano Marittima fu il progettista della prima planimetria imitando il modello inglese di città-giardino. Il figlio Giancarlo fu l'autore della fontana in Rotonda Primo Maggio inaugurata nel '28 quando regalò un capitello ricordo a mio bisnonno che ne era stato promotore così come favorirà, sempre senza clamore, la realizzazione delle colonie e perorando a Roma dal Duce il campo sportivo, chiesa e sperava l'autostrada!
Questo bisnonno, nato a Ravenna ma fin da bambino residente a Roma e infine a Rimini, frequentava Milano Marittima fin dalla fondazione possedendo nell'entroterra (Santo Stefano e Savignano) due grandi ville gentilizie degli antenati
Inoltre aveva a Rimini (fu tra i secondi fondatori del Circolo Tennis) l'altra villa fatta edificare a fine Ottocento dal padre Giuseppe Ginanni (mio trisavolo) sul lungomare di V.le Vespucci 28 (oggi Waldorf a Marina Centro) vicino Villa Cacciaguerra (che diventerà il noto locale Embassy). Negli Anni '50 comprò pure due ville con parco sul colle Covignano, sopra Rimini, e di una ne fece il ristorante-dancing PARADISO (una sorta di Billionaire ante litteram) gestito dal '57 con la nuova compagna Fabbri il cui figlio, Gianni, continuerà a gestire come discoteca.
Le vecchie ville di Milano Marittima, abbattute o inglobate nel tessuto urbano, sono circondate da hotel ristrutturati in chiave avveniristica (neon, terrazzi vetrati, bizzarre piscine) e dai fin troppi condomini alveare e i pini abbattuti non vengono ripiantumati, snaturando l'aspetto elegante della città-giardino. Di Milano Marittima, infatti, fin dal 1912 si voleva farne (come avvenne) meta per aristocrazia e facoltosa borghesia, specie milanese e del Nord in genere.
Milanesi erano i soci della Società Milano Marittima per lo sviluppo spiaggia di Cervia che divenne il nome della nascente località che negli Anni '60 tentarono cambiare in Cervia-Pineta. Da località d'élite per soli residenti con villa si passò negli Anni '50 al Turismo senza ostentazione in hotel e poi di massa nel boom Anni '60. Fin dal '52 veniva in vacanza da Padova con la Jaguar pure la ricca famiglia di mio papà all'epoca teenager ( portandosi pure il motoscafo per sci nautico e la Lambretta. Due mesi agli hotel Lido e al primo Deanna, vicino casa materna alla 7^ Traversa e fu proprio così che si conobbero i miei nel '55; continuando a frequentare Milano Marittima prima da fidanzati, poi da sposi, quindi con noi figli. Spiaggia era il bagno Piccadilly (291) e degli Hotel Touring e Geranio, dove soggiornò Maria Callas Meneghini su suggerimento di mio nonno che della veronese famiglia Meneghini era parente.

Villa Lante - Bagnaia - Viterbo
Villa Lante a Bagnaia, frazione di Viterbo è, assieme a Bomarzo, uno dei più famosi giardini italiani a sorpresa manieristici del XVI secolo.
Dal dicembre 2014 il Ministero per i beni e le attività culturali la gestisce tramite il Polo museale del Lazio, nel dicembre 2019 divenuto Direzione regionale Musei.
Pur in mancanza di documentazione contemporanea, l'ideazione della villa è attribuita a Jacopo Barozzi da Vignola.
Per chi vi arriva dopo aver appena visitato Palazzo Farnese a Caprarola la prima notevole impressione è la differenza tra le due ville del Vignola, pur erette nella stessa area, nello stesso periodo, e nello stesso stile architettonico: le somiglianze fra i due monumenti sono poche.
Nel 2011 è stata votata Parco più bello d'Italia.[1] Nel 2014 le viene dedicata una moneta commemorativa in argento dal valore nominale di 5 euro, inserita nella serie Ville e giardini d'Italia.
La costruzione cominciò nel 1511,[2] ma fu portata a termine intorno al 1566 su commissione del cardinale Gianfrancesco Gambara.
La villa è conosciuta come Villa Lante. Tuttavia non ha acquisito questo nome se non quando, nel XVII secolo, passò nelle mani di Ippolito Lante Montefeltro della Rovere, I duca di Bomarzo, quando la costruzione aveva già 100 anni di vita.
ISOLA D'ELBA - Portoferraio
Portoferraio è il primo comune dell'Isola d'Elba per popolazione e secondo per estensione dopo Campo nell'Elba. Il toponimo Ferraia o Ferraria è documentato a partire dal 1278 e trae origine dalle attività siderurgiche presenti nell'area sin da epoca etrusco-romana. Fu pesantemente colpito nel 1544 dalla flotta di Khayr al-Din Barbarossa, con la distruzione del vicino fortilizio di Montemarsale e della pieve medievale dei Santi Giovanni e Silvestro. Portoferraio fu rifondata per volere di Cosimo I granduca di Toscana nel 1548, affidando all'architetto Giovanni Camerini la progettazione di una città fortificata simbolicamente chiamata Cosmopoli («Città di Cosimo»). La città fortificata riuscì a resistere agli attacchi franco-turchi di Dragut del 1553 e del 1555. La nuova città fu concepita come presidio militare con lo scopo di difendere le coste toscane nonché come sede dei Cavalieri di Santo Stefano. L'epigrafe marmorea che il granduca fece apporre sulla cosiddetta Porta a Mare, l'ingresso principale del porto, descrive infatti la fondazione della nuova città: «Templa, moenia, domus, arces, portum Cosmus florentinorum dux a fundamentis erexit a. D. MDXXXXVIII». La città, exclave toscana nel Principato di Piombino, all'inizio era poco più che un insieme di fortificazioni (ancora tutt'oggi visitabili e ben conservate), come i tre forti: Forte Stella, Forte Falcone e la Linguella (mentre Forte Inglese fu realizzato successivamente - sui resti del Forte San Giovanni, demolito nel 1738 - per rinforzare la cittadina in vista dell'assedio della flotta britannica) e la bellissima cinta muraria, i cui resti, tuttora in buono stato e resi abitabili, circondano il centro storico di Portoferraio. La città rimase sotto il controllo del Granducato di Toscana fino al XVIII secolo quando l'isola, per la sua posizione strategica, fu al centro di una guerra tra Francia, Austria e Inghilterra. Portoferraio fu al centro di un lungo assedio tra la marina francese e quella anglo-toscana, che risultò vittoriosa, sebbene l'isola fu poi ceduta alla Francia. Nell'aprile 1814, con il Trattato di Fontainebleau, l'isola fu affidata a Napoleone Bonaparte come sede del suo primo esilio. Napoleone scelse Portoferraio come capoluogo dell'isola; nella città sono ancora presenti e visitabili le due ville che furono sua residenza, quella di San Martino e la Villa dei Mulini. Fu grazie al regno dell'imperatore francese, seppur breve (1814-1815), che Portoferraio crebbe in importanza e modernità in maniera esponenziale, come tutta l'isola del resto, grazie alle infrastrutture create e alla valorizzazione delle miniere di ferro di Rio Marina. Portoferraio conobbe successivamente un periodo economicamente stabile, come tutta l'isola, grazie alle miniere di ferro fino agli inizi degli anni settanta, quando l'industria del ferro entrò in crisi.

The Fimon Lake
Fimon's Lake is an ancient lake located near Vicenza in Veneto (ITA).
It's a magic place for Vicenza's citizen because of the quiet, panoramas and recreational activities.
A lot of people comes here to fish or having a walk around the lake.
This lake is also famous for Luccio, a rare kind of fish living here.
Every citizen of Vicenza has been here at least one time.

Oasi naturalistica degli stagni di Casale Alberto Carta (Vicenza) - Discover Italy
L'Oasi naturalistica degli stagni di Casale Alberto Carta, istituita nel 1998 nella parte meridionale del comune di Vicenza nella frazione di Casale, è gestita e protetta da WWF.
L'oasi è costituita da circa 24 ettari di invasi acquitrinosi, utilizzati in precedenza per lo sfruttamento dei sedimenti argillosi. Terminata l'attività di escavazione, l'area si è popolata di animali e piante tipiche delle zone ricche d'acqua. L'Oasi si presenta come una delle poche zone umide naturali della pianura vicentina e riveste importanza per la tipica vegetazione palustre e per la fauna, composta da numerose specie di invertebrati, anfibi, uccelli e mammiferi.
L'Oasi si trova all'interno del Sito d'Importanza Comunitaria Ex Cave di Casale nel Comune di Vicenza. È inoltre una Zona di Protezione Speciale (ZPS IT3220005).
L'Oasi è intitolata ad Alberto Carta (1962-1992), un giovane fisico vicentino che aveva collaborato a lungo e con impegno alla progettazione e alla sua realizzazione.
È dal 2008 sede del Comitato Oasi WWF di Casale e del WWF Vicenza-Padova; inoltre dal 2012 è attivo un Centro WWF di Educazione Ambientale (C.E.A.) realizzato in accordo con il Comune di Vicenza e in collaborazione con WWF Italia
La Rocca di Manerba del Garda (BS) - Parco Archeologico
La scogliera su cui svetta un'alta croce è visibile da diverse zone di questa sponda del lago e da lontano sembra difficile raggiungerla ma non è così ed eccoci quindi a intraprendere la salita che conduce lassù in cima, tra irresistibili rovine, attraverso un percorso archeologico che ripercorre una storia plurimillenaria. Da insediamenti mesolitici a quelli lagozziani, si passò ad un uso sacro dell'area intorno al XI-X secolo a.C. I Romani assimilarono il culto alla divinità indigena, sincretizzandola nella dea Minerva, che diede probabilmente nome alla località (Manerba). Data la splendida posizione, nel pianoro sottostante fronte lago, sorsero anche due ville romane. La frequentazione del promontorio non conobbe soluzione di continuità e qui si scontrarono longobardi e franchi. La fortezza medievale, iniziata tra il X e l'XI secolo, fu l'ultima emergenza archeologica sorta su questa rupe. Rasa al suolo nel 1574 per ordine della Serenissima, essendo divenuta un covo di briganti, non fu mai più ricostruita. Le rovine cominciarono ad essere ricoperte dalla vegetazione e da detriti, fino alla loro riscoperta circa cinquant'anni fa e, più recentemente, alla loro piena valorizzazione . L'area è di libero accesso, tutti i giorni e si può completare con la visita al Museo Archeologico, che conserva i reperti venuti alla luce nelle diverse campagne di scavo.
Impagabile la vista a 360 gradi! E la croce? Quella è attorniata dalla immancabile leggenda, che non mancheremo di raccontare. Pronti che si sale!
