Ceili Weekend 2015- Irish Village, South Yarmouth, Cape Cod
One Cape Cod tradition spanning over a dozen years is that of the Ceili (kay-lee) Weekend held at the Irish Village on Route 28 in South Yarmouth, usually on the 3rd weekend in January. It all begins on the Friday night with a dinner and Set Dancing to live music invigorating the room with energy. This year the music was presented by fabulous musicians in the Northeast Ceili Band with Rose Flanagan as guest artist. Saturday the fun continued with a Set Dance workshop, taught by Barry and Pat Callahan and a Ceili and 2-Hand workshop taught by Eileen Dougal. We then had dinner and another 4 hour dancing session with the Band. Sunday the last Set Dance workshop with Barry and Pat blended into the last session. Then we all went up to O’Shea’s Olde Inn for a dance/music session to finish off the weekend.
