Walking Tour of Shepshed Town in Leicestershire, England ‖ Ester Beatty

A historic centre for the wool trade, Shepshed is a town in the Leicestershire borough of Charnwood with a population of around 14,000 people. Settled by the Anglo-Saxons, the original village was often known as Sheepshed, and is home to the 11th century church of St Boltoph.
Shepshed has a town twinning relationship with Domont, Val-d'Oise, France.

Quiet Sunny Sunday Afternoon -- France

This is a very short clip of a walk down Rue du Docteur Gachet in Auvers-sur-Oise, France. The doctor knew Vincent van Gogh at the end of his life. The doctor's house is a museum you can visit for free from March through October, and it's closed Mondays and Tuesdays. It's very pretty and Vincent van Gogh and Paul Cézanne are two artists I can think of who painted in the garden at the house.

Sundays in France tend to be quiet and devoted to resting, and spending time with friends and family. Most businesses are closed.

Although this afternoon in August was hot and dry, I appreciated that it was so peaceful. There are plenty of Vincent van Gogh-related things to see and do here, and a wonderful absinthe museum, too. Several famous Impressionist painters lived and worked here and in the area, which is about an hour away from Paris and on the river Oise.

I saw a couple of gîtes (furnished flats or houses) on this street and both looked very good, with fair prices. GITES DE FRANCE is one place you could begin looking if you are interested in renting one. Once you do it a few times you get good at it and it can be cost-effective, comfortable and a more authentic way to stay somewhere than a hotel or bed and breakfast.

Christoph & Simone

Golf Du Lys Chantilly

Club du Lys is a great example of Tom Simpson's understated course design at its best. Each hole has its own character on relatively flat terrain that cuts a swathe through thick woodland. Relatively short, this course has the makings of a great 36-hole day, topped off by a fantastic meal in the clubhouse.

Two Years On the Road Our Highs and Lows of Full Time RVing

In our latest video we are celebrating 2 years as full-time traveling RVers. In that time, we visited 11 states, 2 Canadian provinces, and drove over 20,000 RV miles.

We hope you enjoy seeing the world through our eyes as we share some of the amazing things we’ve experienced. We took every opportunity to get Outdoor More to Explore.

We’ve seen and done some incredible things. We….

· Completed our first-ever border crossing in the RV
· Walked on the ocean floor in New Brunswick, Canada
· Explored sea caves and sea-kayaked the Bay of Fundy
· Took a ferry across the St. Lawrence River to Quebec City, Canada
· Witnessed some of the highest tides in the world, Bay of Fundy
· Visited the only International Park in the world, Campobello, NB
· Saw Montmorency Falls; 1 and 1Ž2 times taller than Niagra falls
· Visited 2 National Parks, Acadia and the Great Smoky Mountains
· Whitewater kayaked in Maine and North Carolina
· Biked the Virginia Creeper trail in Damascus, Virginia
· Explored Watkins Glen State Park and saw 19 waterfalls
· Hiked the “Grand Canyon of the East”, Letchworth State Park
· Hiked numerous trails at Acadia National Park
· Visited over 10 historic lighthouses
· Went up in the highest observatory bridge in the world, Penobscot Narrows Observatory
Bridge
· Camped on vineyards, Alpaca farms, and microbreweries - Harvest Hosts
· Watched the Daytona 500 from the roof of our RV
· Viewed fall foliage from a ski-lift chair in Camden, Maine

We’ve had our share of challenges too. We dealt with the stress of change, illness, mechanical failures, equipment breakdowns, and scary weather.

All in all, we wouldn’t change a thing. We’ve learned so much with each new experience. And our lives are simpler and fuller. We are grateful to be on this journey. We have experienced more in two years than we ever thought possible. And we have just begun to see what this beautiful country of ours has to offer.

Enjoy the video, and don’t be afraid to take a risk and chase your dream. Follow along with us, as we continue to chase ours.
