Dire Dawa lies in the eastern part of the nation, on the Dechatu River, at the foot of a ring of cliffs. The western outskirts of the city lie on the Gorro River, a tributary of the Dechatu River. It is located at the latitude and longitude of 9°36′N 41°52′ECoordinates: 9°36′N 41°52′E. The city is an industrial centre, home to several markets and the Dire Dawa Airport.
The present-day town of Dire Dawa is 311 km by rail from Djibouti

Et glimt fra køreturen fra Dodola til Kokossa søndag den 14. april 2013. Klokken er omkring 8.30, og vi kommer til Kokossa om cirka tre kvarter.
Vejen er lavet af jord og fyldt med sten, så bilen bumper godt selv om vi ikke kører så hurtigt. Og så er det altså svært at holde kameraet stille. - Men se alligevel hvor smukt der er.
