10/2020 Denkmal des Monats: Jüterbog
Am 30. Oktober war die AG Historische Stadtkerne in Jüterbog zu Gast, um das Torwächterhaus am Dammtorturm als Denkmal des Monats auszuzeichnen. Bei Regen und guter Laune freuten wir uns, dass die Veranstaltung trotz Corona doch noch im kleinen Rahmen stattfinden konnte.
Das Torwächterhaus diente dem Torwächter als Unterkunft, der das Tor öffnete und schloss und für die Erhebung des Geleitzolls verantwortlich war. Seit 1939 ist es im Besitz der Kirche und beherbergt heute eine offene Jugend-Begegnungsstätte.

Neuruppin is a town in the district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin in northern Brandenburg. It is the traditional capital of the Ruppner Land. It is nicknamed Fontanestadt in honor of the poet Theodore Fontana, who was born here. Neuruppin is sometimes referred to as the most Prussian of all Prussian towns. Neuruping is one of the largest cities in Germany. The town of Neuruppin is located in the district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin, 60 km northwest of Berlin, south of the districts on Lake Ruppin with the actual core towns of Neuruppin and Alt Ruppin. The prehistoric settlement of the country ranges from the Mesolithic to the Late Bronze Age, with the first Germanic and later Slavic settlements on the shores of Lake Lupine (in the Old Town - including the New Market - and surroundings).
In the Middle Ages, Neruping was one of the larger towns in north-eastern Germany. Part of the city wall, part of the monastery church of St. Trinitis (1246), the church of St. George (1362), the infirmary (1490) and the church of St. Lazarus, consecrated in 1491, as well as the remains of the lake district from this period have been preserved.

Direkt an die Ostsee! InterCity Chemnitz - Warnemünde
Nach mehr als 16 Jahren Pause haben Chemnitz und Freiberg seit dem 12. Juni 2022 wieder Fernbahnanschluss. Zwei Mal am Tag pendelt ein IC-Zug zwischen Chemnitz und Warnemünde. Zum Einsatz kommen dabei Doppelstock-Triebwagen des Typs Stadler KISS BR 4110 bestehend aus 4 Wagen pro Zug und einem Einsatztempo bis 200 km/h.

Lorenzmarkt in Lorenzkirch 2022: Impressionen vom Jahrmarkt an der Elbe bei Riesa
Der Lorenzmarkt findet vom 05.08. bis 08.08.2022 in Lorenzkirch (bei Riesa) direkt auf der Elbwiese statt. Die Highlights auf dem Platz sind dieses mal die Schaukel Streetfighter und der Dschungel Train. Natürlich gibt es auch einen Break Dancer, einen Autoscooter und ein Riesenrad. Als erstes Mal haben wir von dieser Sammlung in 1990 in Basdorf bei Berlin erfahren, wo es hier auch einen Film von mir gibt. Auch in Jüterbog waren wir. Auch hier waren wir schon einmal. Ich muss nur noch die Dias darüber finden. Meine Gefühle hier sind geteilt: Es ist schade, was hier alles herum gammelt, aber hätte Herr Falz die Maschinen nicht vor der Schrottpresse gerettet, wären auch diese mal wunderschönen Dampflokomotiven verschwunden. Er will lt. seinem Flyer erhaltungswerte Maschinen mit Eisenbahnfreunden aufarbeiten. Freiwillige werden dafür immer noch gesucht. Persönlich, obwohl ich Optimist bin, glaube ich nicht daran. Schade. Ich muss wirklich mal nach Hermeskeil um mal zu sehen, wie es dort aussieht.
Ich habe ja immer das Problem mit der Musik. Für mich habe ich u.a. Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod, was man sich hier auf YT auch runterladen kann. Wenn man Sterbemusik eingibt, findet man auch einiges. Bloß ist es verboten, solche Musik in den Filmen hier zu verwenden, denn es kann zur Sperrung des gesamten Kanals führen. Also nehme ich immer Musik aus der Musik-Bibliothek, wo es doch schwer ist, etwas Passendes zu finden. Wem das stört, einfach nachdem mein Kommentar geendet hat, eigene Musik unterlegen.

My feelings here are divided: It's a shame what happened here with the lomocotivs, but if Mr. Falz had not saved the machines from the junk press, these once beautiful steam locomotives would have disappeared. According to his flyer, he wants to work up valuable machines with railway friends. Volunteers are still being searched for. Personally, although I am an optimist, I do not believe in it. Sorry.
