Here’s a basic cost breakdown of my Ethiopia trip with Abyssinian Nomads:
1. Omo valley: $200-250 per day with a local tour operator.
Includes guide, 4X4 land cruiser, camping equipment. Half board meals, lodges/hotels and entrance fees to all point of interests.
2. Simien mountains: $150 - 250 per day
Price includes local guides, 4x4 land cruiser, camping equipment. All parks and point of interest entrance fees. Comes with chef and park scout as well. There is a luxury lodge option for increased price.
3. Addis Ababa: $50 to $300 per day depending on style of travel
Higher prices would include hotel accommodation, famous city tour and coffee ceremony. With local guide and food tour.
4. Danakil Depression: $150-200 per day
It is advised to only travel in this region with local tour operators due to security concerns. Price includes 4x4 land cruiser, local guides, camping equipment, all park and point of interest fees, half board meals and a park scout from the Afar region to escort entire trip.
Lalibela: $100-250
Upper price includes local tour guide, 4x4 land cruiser, hotel/lodge accommodation. Half board meal and entrance to all Rock Churches of Lalibela.

1. Fasil Ghebbi
An ancient home of kings and queens, these crumbling castle walls have seen the rise and fall of Ethiopia's elite.
Fasil Ghebbi served as the royal residence for the rulers of Ethiopia from the 1640s to 1864.
The Royal Enclosure houses a series of churches, palaces and monasteries, each with their own architectural style.
2. Debre Birhan Selassie Church
Don't be fooled by its modest yellow brick exterior, inside awaits a stunning, kaleidoscopic display of creativity in murals, wall paintings, and a ceiling covered with angels.
Debre Birhan Selassie church is one of the most beautiful churches in Ethiopia.
Debire Birhan Selassie Church, meaning 'Trinity and Mountain of Light' is the most famous place of worship in Gondar.
The church provides a stunning visual synopsis of important biblical stories.
Below the cherubs, past the tabernacle lies the Kafka-esque depiction of hell created by 17th century artist, Haile Meskel.
Full of sneering demons and tortured sinners, contoured bodies lie bruised and bloody on the walls, their pain etched so evocatively on their faces. Their emotion is almost palpable.
3. Simien Mountains National Park
Jaw-dropping plateaus, ridges, gorges and gullies characterize this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
With some of the world's best trekking routes, endemic wildlife and luxurious lodges perched in hills, the Simien Mountains are Ethiopia's most popular destination, and for good reason.
Stunning Viewpoints
The entire Simien range is characterized by exceptional scenery.
As you advance further into the park, the altitude increases and the viewpoints become increasingly spectacular.
The first major viewpoint you’ll encounter is Imet Gogo, sitting at 3,926m between the Gich and Chennek campsites.
As you continue your journey, you’ll find Mount Bwahit at 4,430m, and for the adventurous, Ras Dashen towers just east of Mount Bwahit at a staggering 4,550m, making it Ethiopia’s highest peak and the tenth highest peak in Africa.

Afancho Ber is deaf Ethiopians rest their index fingers on their noses; Those who can hear the sound are called Afancho Ber in Six Kilo, Girgis, Korean Veterans Memorial Monument, Entoto, and Addis Ababa University is an interesting neighborhood located on the bordering river. It is said that he got his name for this reason. So, I walked this trip from Giorgis to Afenchober and Sidist Killo.
The Ethiopian Association of the Deaf and the Library of the Blind, who have been in the settlement for four years, are veteran settlers. With this wonderful gesture, many have changed their language and established friendships.
They got to know each other by meeting in the association without limiting the distance from all four directions. Information is exchanged in sign language. There are many friendships that have reached the point of marriage. This happened in the hall of the association located on the bank of the river Afenchober.
The place where the bright blue mosque that we see in the video was built, 1700 square meters of land, was mainly a meeting place for blind Ethiopians.

በሰፈሩ አራት መንግስታት ሲለዋወጡ ያሉና የነበሩ የኢትዮጵያ መስማት የተሳናቸው ማህበር እና የአይነ ስውራን ቤተ መጸህፍት አንጋፋ ሰፈርተኞች ናቸው:: በዚህ አስደማሚ ስፍር በርካቶች ምልክት ቋንቋን ቀስመውበታል ወዳጅነት ዝምድና መስርተዋል::
ከአራቱም አቅጣጫ ርቀት ሳይገድባቸው በማህበሩ ውስጥ በመገናኘት ተዋውቀዋል:: በምልክት ቋንቋ መረጃ ተለዋውጠዋል :: ጓደኝነት ወዳጅነት ትዳር እስከመመስረት የደረሱም በርካታ ናቸው:: ይህም የሆነው አፍንጮበር በሚባለው ወንዝ ዳር ላይ በሚገኝው የማህበሩ አዳራሽ ነው::
