Top 10 Places in China 2023 | China Travel Guide 2023 | Best Places in China 2023

China is a huge tourism destination with many possibilities. This country offers amazing sights and experiences, whether you cruise down the Yangtze gorges, visit a bustling city, or relax in an ancient temple.

Our top Chinese tourist attractions list features unique, unexpected, and exciting activities.

10. Shanghai's Promenade: The Bund.
Shanghai's Zhongshan Lu riverside promenade, also known as the Bund, is a marvel of smart city planning and preservation. This spacious pedestrian zone along the Huangpu Jiang River makes you forget you're in China's largest city.

9. The Potala Palace, Tibet.
Lhasa's Potala Palace is another famous Chinese landmark. It was the Dalai Lama's fortress and dwelling for centuries and holds many of the religion's most valuable relics. The 17th century Red Palace houses the complex's most prominent shrines. The Enthronement Hall has murals of Dalai Lamas and Tibetan kings on its walls.

8. The Classical Gardens of Suzhou, Jiangsu.
The Classical Gardens of Suzhou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, should top of your China trip agenda. These exquisite gardens in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, were among 270 or more planted in the 11th century, when the city was growing rapidly. The most famous restored garden is the charming Garden of Lingering, a seven-acre site built in 1800 on the site of a Ming Dynasty park.

7. The Yangtze River and the Three Gorges.
The Yangtze River, known in China as Chang Jiang (Long River), is the third longest river in the world after the Amazon and the Nile and the longest in China. For over 2000 years, China's main transportation artery, the Yangtze, has flowed from Tibet to Shanghai through eight provinces.

6. Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Sichuan.
Pandas are essential to any Chinese trip. The Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Chengdu, Sichuan, is the ideal spot to witness these remarkable animals in their natural habitat. You can watch 80 pandas forage and play in this park-like facility.

5. Cruising the Li River, Guilin.
Guilin, in northeast Guangxi, is noted for its Li River and karst mountains. For centuries, poets, artists, and fairy tales have been inspired by its unique environment. Now, travelers from over the world come to see it.

4. The Summer Palace, Beijing.
The Imperial Summer Palace (Yíhé Yuán), one of China's most visited sights, is a 15-kilometer drive from Beijing. The palace was established in 1153, but its enormous lake was added in the 14th century to improve the Imperial Gardens.

3. The Terracotta Army, Xi'an.
Farmers found the Terracotta Army in the 1970s while excavating wells outside Xi'an. The three massive underground pits, erected to guard the First Emperor's tomb, contained more than 8000 life size warriors, 520 horses, and 100 chariots, as well as several non-military characters from around 280 BC.

2. The Forbidden City & the Imperial Palace, Beijing.
Beijing's Forbidden City (Zijìnchéng), commonly known as the Imperial Palace, is China's largest and most important building. The complex was built between 1406 and 1420 during the Yuan Dynasty. This sprawling compound housed 24 Ming and Qing emperors, who barred admission to all but the imperial family and their courtesans.

1. The Great Wall of China.
The Chinese phrase Nobody can be a true hero unless he has gone on the Great Wall shows the importance of this remarkable ancient landmark. The magnificent Great Wall of China, known in Chinese as Changcheng or the Long Wall, stretches more than 6000 kilometers from the fortresses of Shanhaiguan in the east to Jiayuguan in the west, passing through Hebei, Tientsin, Beijing, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, and Gansu.

Capital of China
Beijing, China’s sprawling capital, has history stretching back 3 millennia. Yet it’s known as much for modern architecture as its ancient sites such as the grand Forbidden City complex, the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Nearby, the massive Tiananmen Square pedestrian plaza is the site of Mao Zedong’s mausoleum and the National Museum of China, displaying a vast collection of cultural relics.

7 Pros & 15 Cons of Daxing Airport- Beijing, China's New Mega-Airport!!!

Beijing's newest mega-airport, Daxing International, opened this past October. Beijing has made it known that they plan to have 70-million passengers by 2025. It is expected to eventually be the world's biggest and greatest airport. However, there has not been a lot of real people who have shot videos about Daxing. I wanted to do a fair and balanced presentation of what the New Daxing Airport is doing right and what can be improved on. So I made a list of both the positive and the negative things about flying out of Daxing. The one constant problem that Daxing is going to have is its location. It is a 1-hour drive from downtown Beijing. Most of the 70 plus airlines at Beijing's Capital Airport are staying put for the time being, and not moving their operations to Daxing. The information presented has factored in the 30-minute bullet train for 10 CNY. However, according to Baidu as of December 2019, it still takes 44 minutes to travel to the 3rd outer southern ring of Beijing on the bullet train, and the second issue is that it still does not open to till 6am. This is still a huge problem when the airlines will deny you boarding for not being checked-in with your baggage 60-80 minutes in advance and expect you to be at the airport 120 minutes before your flight. The other thing to remember is that Beijing is a huge city with most of the attractions for non-Chinese are either downtown or on the northeast side of the city. It still takes over an hour to travel to the Caoqiao station (bullet train) from many areas of Beijing due to its distant southern location within the city.
