Visitors making their first trip to China usually stick to the larger cities. More experienced visitors to the Middle Kingdom will strike out in other directions, where traveling may be a bit more frustrating because of the language barrier, but most definitely doable for independent travelers. Here’s a look at the best places to visit in China:

In this episode I quickly mention all the places I've been to in China so far and then talk about my favourite place in China. You can probably tell from the thumbnail that I was travelling to Northern China as it looks quite cold. This is from a trip that I took with my mum in 2019. Unfortunately at that time I was not a Youtuber and didn't take a whole lot of videos, but at least I took a bunch of photos from that place, hope you enjoy me talking about my experience there.

Welcome to Daqing, China
Daqing is a prefecture-level city in the west of Heilongjiang province, People's Republic of China. The name literally means Great Celebration. Daqing is known as the Oil Capital of China and has experienced a phenomenal boom since oil was discovered at the Daqing Oil Field in 1959.
DAQING (CHINA) LIFE: Li Ming Lake, a heaven for Daqing Fishermans
Becausee Daqing is not coastal area so people make a good use of it lakes for fishing. Two lakes I frequently visit (Times Square & Li Ming) have speakers all around them. Sometimes they play musics/songs so everybody there are able to listen. Like what you would hear in this video ;)
When I took the video, it was around 8am, i wouldn't like to go there in the early morning, would be too crowded! Not sure what kind of fish they have here, but I think that's better than nothing..
Bike trip Daqing China
We went on a bike trip to some hot springs outside of Daqing.
Lianhuan Lakes is great in the winter as you get to sit in the pools surrounded by snow, but we went in the summer so no snow. They have a massive cold pool and some fish baths, and they had more hot springs filled up than when we went there in the winter. Great times!
The road we took was pretty straight, we had to dodge a couple of potholes, but it was an easy trip!

DAQING (CHINA) LIFE: Dragon Boat Festival, a morning sight of the peak day.
Today is June 6th 2011, which is the peak of dragon boat festival. The whole holiday falls on 4-6 of the month. I heard that people go to certain places like park to pick out particular kind of grass/flower, to get rid of bad luck or something. I should learn more about this later though.
They should do that in the early morning, 4am. Since the weather's nice i decided to just go to the times square to see what's happening there, especially to see how will they do the grass-picking.
It's was a refreshing and quiet morning--of course 4am! lol..well, i just like to share the morning view that I took at across from our apt.

Daqing Hotel
For fitness and leisure the Daqing Hotel offers tennis courts and billiards. Other hotel facilities include conference room(s), a bowling alley and a sauna. The hotel also provides a currency exchange. Guests have access to a peaceful courtyard. A walk to the town centre will take about 20 minutes.
DAQING (CHINA) LIFE: Guo Cheng Temple-Dragon Boat Festival
H+1 Dragon Boat festival; this video shows many ribbon wishes on the tree. I don't know if it has to be certain kind of tree, but i remember last year celebration of something---i think it was chinese new year 2011---the wishes were on some trees in the inside area of the temple. This time the the ribbon wishes are on a big tree outside the temple front-entrance gate.
DAQING (CHINA) LIFE: Morning walk at Li Ming Lake
This video shows you the view of late morning walk (around 7-10am). A local friend told me the morning-walker will make the lake packed in the early morning, at between 4-6am. But we're not talking about winter, though ;)
It's always nice to see so many older people are eager for exercise here..or even just morning/afternoon walk..something that I rarely see back home (Indonesia).
Hopefully my country will have the urge and commitment to manage our lakes, parks, and free public open spaces in a better way than we do now, for the better use and benefit to people.
