You will feel the inspiration of Chaco Canyon as soon as you walk through the hotel’s front doors.

The Village of Corrales is a small, treasured oasis located within a large, fast-growing metropolitan area. The village is bordered on the east by the Rio Grande and, across the river, by the Sandia Indian Reservation. To the south is the City of Albuquerque while to the west and north is the City of Rio Rancho. The greater metropolitan area numbers well over a half million people, but Corrales, about 7300 in population, aggressively strives to retain a rural lifestyle. Prehistoric sites indicate the Corrales Valley has been occupied as early as 500 A.D. when the ancestors of the present-day Indian Pueblos derived sustenance from the fertile valley. Subsequent populations, including Hispanic, European and American families, settled here to raise grapes, apples, and livestock. Today, Corrales is distinguished by its broad green pastures and orchards, its rich historic and artistic character, and of course the sounds and scents of roosters, cows, horses and sheep. To cross the borders into Corrales is to step into another time and place where the stresses of twenty-first century life give way to the grace and pace of another era.

During our 4 day road trip through New Mexico, we saw a wild and beyond incredible and creative nature which truly is reflected in just as creative art, architecture, food, and history of New Mexico. We started the trip in Santa Fe, and drove south to stunning Carlsbad Caverns, and absolutely out of this world White Sands. We explored New Mexico’s history, nature, art, food, and culture. Enjoy!

New Mexico Tourist Attractions
One of the most interesting New Mexico tourist attractions and New Mexico landmarks you'll find when you visit New Mexico is La Posta. An old building located in Mesilla, New Mexico and a distinct part of New Mexico history.
La Posta: From the Founding of Mesilla, to Corn Exchange Hotel, to Billy the Kid Museum, to Famous Landmark. The story of a 160-year old building, its people, and its place.
The building sits on a lot next to the plaza. The lot is a terreno de solar, a grant to a Mexican citizen by the state of Chihuahua, Mexico, on which to build a house. By the terms of the grant, the grantee is obliged to own a horse and a gun. Within a year or so the grantee -- and his lot -- are no longer in Mexico -- they are both in the United States.

We Found a HIDDEN Wine Trail in Albuquerque
The Corrales Wine Loop is a leisurely, winding drive near the Rio Grande River through the early Spanish settlement of Corrales where you'll discover boutique, family-owned, and operated wineries with spectacular views of the Sandia Mountains located only 20 minutes for Downtown Albuquerque and 45 minutes from Santa Fe.
In this video, we share findings and tips from visiting three of the main New Mexico wineries along the Corrales Wine Loop; Acequia Winery, Pasando Tiempo Winery, and Corrales Winery. The first stop is at Acequia Winery, which is located at the owner's homestead and has a patio with the most stunning views to enjoy wine with views across the Valley to the Sandia Mountains. Next, we share Pasando Tiempo Winery from their down-home tasting room and it's easy to understand why Pasando Tiempo means passing time, with friends, family, and wine. Our third stop was the Corrales Winery, which features a lovely patio and lawn perfect for picnics overlooking a lush garden with spectacular mountain views. All three wineries specialize in finely crafted small quantities of rich, delicious wines showcasing New Mexico's finest grapes.
New Mexico has the longest history of wine production in the United States. In 1629, a Franciscan friar and a Capuchín monk planted the first wine grapes in the Río Grande valley of southern New Mexico. Viticulture took hold in the valley, and by the year 1880, grapes were grown on over 3,000 acres, and wineries produced over 1,000,000 US gallons of wine.
