Killeen is a city in Bell County, Texas, United States. According to the 2020 census, its population was 153,095, making it the 19th-most populous city in Texas and the largest of the three principal cities of Bell County. It is the principal city of the Killeen–Temple–Fort Hood Metropolitan Statistical Area. Killeen is 55 miles (89 km) north of Austin, 125 miles (201 km) southwest of Dallas, and 125 miles (201 km) northeast of San Antonio.
Killeen is directly adjacent to the main cantonment of Fort Hood. Its economy depends on the activities of the post, and the soldiers and their families stationed there. It is known as a military boom town because of its rapid growth and high influx of soldiers.

Worst RV Campground Ever // (And How we Saved our Weekend!)
***SHADY GROVE CAMPGROUND, DENVER PA***
One of our biggest camping fears came to life this past weekend as we pulled into possibly the worlds worst RV campground. While the spots were tight, the sewer connections were not and we found ourselves in a bad camping situation pretty quickly.
After a confusing run in with some of the seasonal campers, we decided it wasn't worth the stress we had to save our weekend - and in this case we only had one option. To hook our Shadow Cruiser Travel Trailer back up and head home.
Currently holding the record for our shortest camping trip (19 hours between check in and check out) it taught us a lot about vetting campgrounds, when to call it quits, and what red flags to look out for when looking for a place to camp with our travel trailer.

Copperas Creek Corp of Engineers Park Commanche Texas
During the summer, Sharon and MiLena, the Two Tired Teachers, visited Copperas Creek Park on Proctor Lake just outside of Comanche, Texas. In this video, the repeatedly refer to the park as Copperas Cove. Please excuse this error.
Copperas Creek is one of three COE campgrounds on Proctor Lake, and it is by far our favorite. Part of the reason for that is that we got the best site in the park, number 11. In order to secure that site, we made our reservations early.
Copperas Creek is split into two sections; one is to the left while the other is to the right as you're coming into the park. Both sides have fishing piers and boat launching. The dump station is to the left.
To get to the day use area, you have to exit the park and go about half a mile. The lake level was way down, so while there is a designated swimming area, some people took their camp chairs out several yards and sat with their feet in the water.
(Sharon mentioned that we didn't fish on this trip; however, after we got our fishing licenses, we have been back there to fish. One day, Sharon caught 11 crappie.)
We aren't sure, but we think some of the campgrounds or at least campsites around Proctor Lake are closed in the fall and winter. It is wise to make reservations before you come.
I-10: Junction, TX to San Antonio, TX
Starting from 115 miles from downtown San Antonio at Exit 456 in Junction, TX and drive east on I-10 passing through Kerrville, Comfort, Boerne before entering San Antonio.
In the western outskirts, one passes by Fiesta Texas, UTSA, and near the Medical Center before reaching I-410. Passes through downtown San Antonio briefly merging with I-35 before splitting off a few miles later and continues until passing I-410 and exiting on Exit 583 at Foster Rd.

Copperas Cove Food Truck Fest 2019
I was super excited to visit the 2019 Copperas Cove Food Truck Fest held every year in Copperas Cove, TX. This is the third year the festival has been held but was the first year I was able to attend. There were a ton of food trucks, craft booths, musical acts and more. We had an amazing time and I can't wait to share it with you. The event is held in Copperas Cove City Park on Ave B. Come out and enjoy this Central Texas festival.

Road Trip #370 - I-10 East - Texas Mile 720 to 734 - with Detours (Brookshire)
We continue East on I-10 and US-90 begining in Sealy, Texas in Austin County, and then passing through the town of San Felipe. We run into some heavy traffic due to construction, so we utilize the service road (legally) to bypass some of it. We cross the Brazos River into Waller county, and then exit again, following US-90 into the city of Brookshire. We cross to the north side of the interstate here and then re-enter I-10 at the eastern end of the construction project. We conclude at Exit 734. We're now getting into the Houston Metropolitan Area. I-10 becomes the Katy Freeway where we cross into Waller County.

We continue west on Texas State Highway 21, beginning at the town of Midway. At the town of Madisonville, the county seat of Madison County, we stop at a Buc-ee's for gas and a good windshield cleaning, and then continue west on State Highway 21 and US Highway 190 to the community of North Zulch.
