Today we're taking you for a seafood extravaganza to celebrate being back in coastal Patagonia!
This is the vlog of our first day in Comodoro Rivadavia, and I have to say, we were pleasantly surprised. We kicked off our first morning in town with a walk down to the beach. Because this was our first time back on the coast (after several weeks at the foot of the Andes), we just had to get a glimpse of the Atlantic Ocean!
For lunch, we went to a restaurant called Cayo Coco del Mar, and of course, we ordered seafood. We got a massive seafood platter featuring calamari, shrimp casserole, breaded fish, mussels, and more. It was a feast of a meal!
That afternoon we enjoyed a nice stroll along the boardwalk. We noticed there was a storm brewing and that the skies were getting darker by the minute, so we decided to pick an attraction close to our hotel. That's how we ended up visiting the Museo Ferroportuario, which is a museum that focuses on the link between the port and the railway in this oil town. They also had an impressive display of all the lighthouses you can find in Patagonia. Future road trip?!
In the evening we went to a restaurant near our hotel, which worked out well for Sam because there were pizzas on the menu. And when we came back to the hotel, we sat down to share some of our first impressions of Comodoro Rivadavia. That was it for our first day in town. We'll see you in the next video, where we'll check out the Petroleum Museum and learn a bit more about the early beginnings of Comodoro Rivadavia.

Visiting a NON-TOURISTY Oil Town in Patagonia, Argentina ???? Eating Our Way Through COMODORO RIVADAVIA
In today's video, we're going to be visiting a non-touristy oil town in Patagonia. When we told people we were going to Comodoro Rivadavia, they looked at us with surprise? There's nothing to do there. The only people who travel there work in the oil industry. But we were curious, plus it was a very logical stop to break up the journey down to the land of ice and glaciers, so we decided to spend a few days in this off the beaten path destination.
The main attraction we visited in Comodoro Rivadavia was the National Petroleum Museum. Here we had a guided tour where we got to see where they first struck oil and also learn about how this event gave birth to the city.
The National Petroleum Museum has an indoor and outdoor component, so after touring the exterior and viewing some of the machinery on-site, we went indoors to take part in a simulation, where you can experience what it would be like to travel to the depths of an oil well. And well, it kind of felt a bit like an earthquake! Technically, it’s geared for kids and school groups, but that didn’t stop us from trying it.
Aside from that, we also visited a few different restaurants around town (because you know us and our love for food!) We went back to Cayo Coco del Mar to sample their paella, then we tried artisanal ice creams at Chocolates, and we also went to Puerto Mitre at the end of the day for a seafood pizza.

Visitando COMODORO RIVADAVIA: MUSEO DEL PETROLEO ⛽ + Vistas del CERRO CHENQUE en Chubut, Argentina
Hoy continuamos con nuestro visita por Comodoro Rivadavia en Chubut, Argentina! En este video vamos a estar visitando el Museo Nacional de Petróleo, que es una de las atracciones principales en la ciudad. Este es un museo que exhibe la historia del petróleo desde su formación millones de años atrás hasta su industrialización en la actualidad. Hicimos una visita guiada donde escuchamos la historia del descubrimiento de petróleo en Comodoro, y pudimos ver donde se hicieron las primeras perforaciones. También tomamos parte en la simulación donde uno puede experimentar cómo sería viajar a las profundidades de un pozo petrolero! Fue una visita muy interesante y la verdad es que se los recomendamos si tienen la oportunidad de visitar la ciudad.
Cuando estábamos regresando al centro, también hicimos una parada en el Cerro Chenque. Visto desde el centro de Comodoro, este cerro casi parece una pirámide, y tiene una cumbre con una altura de 212 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Desde este punto, uno puede disfrutar hermosas vistas de toda la ciudad.
Y por supuesto, en este video también probamos unos ricos platos: paella y langostinos al ajillo en Cayo Coco del Mar, helados artesanales de frutilla y coco con dulce de leche en Chocolates, y la pizza de mar en Puerto Mitre.

The SOUTHERNMOST BEACH Town on the American CONTINENT! ????⬇️ Visiting Rada Tilly in Chubut, Argentina
Today, we are taking you to the beach town of Rada Tilly in Patagonia, Argentina. Rada Tilly has the distinction of being the southernmost seaside resort on the American continent and it also has one of the widest beaches we have seen.
The warmest the water ever gets here is about 17°C or 62℉, so it’s really not that warm - it only gets chillier from here on south! We visited quite early in the summer, so while we noticed a few brave kids running into the water, most people were just sunbathing. If you do visit, pack your swimsuit, but maybe also a windbreaker.
We visited Rada Tilly on a day trip from the nearby city of Comodoro Rivadavia, which is about a 30-minute bus ride.
Once we arrived in town, we admired the seaside homes all with very unique designs, we sampled some delicious Patagonian dishes at a restaurant located right on the beach, and then we also enjoyed a long walk on the beach with beautiful cliffside backdrops.

Finalmente, nuestro primer video de Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina! Tuvimos la oportunidad de pasar unos días por estas partes en nuestro viaje rumbo sur, y la verdad es que la ciudad petrolera nos sorprendió mucho. Varias personas nos habían dicho que Comodoro Rivadavia no es necesariamente un destino para el turismo, pero la verdad es que lo pasamos muy bien y comimos muy rico.
¿Qué hicimos en nuestro primer día en Comodoro? Bueno, salimos a comer mariscos, por supuesto! Pasamos la mañana caminando por la costanera, paseamos por la playa, y luego almorzamos en Cayo Coco del Mar donde probamos una deliciosa casuela de mariscos y una picada fría y caliente con langostinos, mejillones, merluza, rabas y muchos más! Fue el perfecto almuerzo después de haber cruzado de los Andes a la costa.
En la tarde visitamos el Museo Ferroportuario donde vimos una exhibición de todos los faros de la Patagonia. Fue una linda visita y muy interesante. Y bueno, esa tarde empezaron unas lluvias torrenciales, así que hasta ahí llegamos.

???????? El segundo día del viaje por la ruta 3 comprende el tramo entre comodoro Rivadavia a rio gallegos.
Eran a penas las 10 de la mañana cuando decidimos continuar viaje, pero apenas unos kilómetros un lugar nos hizo una parada obligatoria
Caleta Olivia, tres cerros, Puerto san Julián, comandante Luis piedra buena fueron las localidades que pasamos para poder llegar a nuestro destino del día, debíamos hacer base en Rio gallegos, para encarar el tercer y ultimo tramo antes de llegar a nuestro destino final.
Hay algo que quiero destacar de estas latitudes, la cantidad de plazas, paseos, cartelería, placas y muchas cosas mas recordando a las islas Malvinas. Donde había un cartel decía A cuantos kilómetros se encuentran las islas, en un momento me di cuenta que estaba mucho pero mucho mas cerca de las islas Malvinas que de mi casa.
A medida que íbamos avanzando el día se iba alargando, como verán esta filmación se realizó a las 21.45 y aun teníamos por recorrer. Llegamos a rio gallegos, nos ocupamos de cenar, nos alojamos en el hotel Sehuen al cual le doy 8 puntos y lo recomiendo, por precio, calidad y atención
Y de esta manera llegamos al final del día dos de viaje, mucho recorrido, mucha llanura, empezaron a aparecer los guanacos, las ovejas y el ñandú. Te invitamos a compartir este video, a poner un me gusta y a comentar. Y estate atento que pronto llega el dia 3.

???????? The second day of the trip on Route 3 includes the stretch between Comodoro Rivadavia and Rio Gallegos.
It was barely 10 in the morning when we decided to continue our trip, but just a few kilometers away, a place made us a mandatory stop.
Caleta Olivia, Tres Cerros, Puerto San Julián, Comandante Luis Piedra Buena were the towns we passed to reach our destination for the day. We had to base ourselves in Rio Gallegos, to face the third and last section before reaching our final destination.
There is something that I want to highlight in these latitudes, the number of squares, walks, billboards, plaques and many other things that remind us of the Malvinas Islands. Where there was a sign that said How far are the islands, at one point I realized that I was much, much closer to the Malvinas Islands than to my house.
As we progressed, the day was getting longer, as you can see, this filming was done at 9:45 p.m. and we still had to go. We arrived in Rio Gallegos, we took care of dinner, we stayed at the Sehuen hotel, to which I give 8 points and recommend it, for price, quality and attention
