Could Erice possibly be the most magical city in Sicily? Perched atop a mountain that overlooks the port city of Trapani, Erice is a small medieval town famous for its maze of cobbled alleyways, the temple of Venus, and for being one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Sicily, Italy!
In this episode, we fall in love with the magical little town as we ride the cable car to its city walls, explore a few of its 60 (yes, sixty) special churches, the Castle of Venus Museum (Castello di Venere) with its towers and gardens, and end the day indulging on sweets from one of the most famous bakeries in Sicily, all while soaking in the insane views Erice has to offer!

San Martino di Castrozza is a town in the Italian Dolomite Alps. It is dominated by the majestic range of mountains known as Pale di San Martino. Awe inspiring rock formations are lurking around the town. The pristine forests and crystal clear waters ad to the heavenly feel of the place. Devotees of mountain climbing, hiking, biking, skiing, and snowboarding are coming here in large numbers.

Passo San Pellegrino 2022 | Costabella Trentino Alto Adige | TLC Diaries
Beautiful and relaxing panoramas in Costabella. An easy trek for everyone in Passo San Pellegrino. This gorgeous place is one of the must visit places in the Italian Dolomites. It is a high mountain near Moena and Predazzo. You have many options how far you want to trek, one the easiest like what we did and others depending on your stamina ????
We took a cable car from Passo San Pellegrino up to Costabella ca. 2000m above sea level and from Costabella we hiked up to the Rifugio Passo le Selle (2230m above sea level). The trek takes only more or less one hour. It takes obviously longer for me as I like to explore and take videos around, not to mention admiring the stunning views along the way.

All'arrivo siamo passati per il Lago di Alleghe, che anche da ghiacciato ha regalato uno spettacolo suggestivo. Dopo un aperitivo e un pranzo ad Alleghe ci siamo avviati all'Hotel Pensione Dolomiti, dove abbiamo alloggiato una notte, sentendoci rassegnatamente a nostro agio nel realizzare di essere davvero dei pensionati, con acciacchi e scatarri da far paura. Dopo una cena tipica, un tè caldo e delle chiacchiere con un pensionato, fine serata passata a giocare a One Piece.

Il mattino seguente siamo arrivati a San Martino di Castrozza, posato i bagagli nel Residence Lastei e, dopo averlo esplorato e passato un pomeriggio a giocare a One Piece, abbiamo fatto un giro per la città alla ricerca di un posto che fosse aperto. Ma nulla. C'era solo una pizzeria e quindi alle 21 eravamo già nel Residence, a conversare nel bar, che se fossi stato da solo mi sarei sentito davvero come Jack Nicholson in Shining. Fine serata passata a giocare a One Piece.

Dopo un caffè alla nocciola per colazione, siamo andati a una funivia per andare alla Cima Rosetta ma all'arrivo veniamo a conoscenza del fatto che era tutto chiuso. Perciò abbiamo cambiato meta, andando all'Alpe Tognola, sempre in funivia, ammirando il panorama della città di San Martino di Castrozza dall'alto. Dopo esserci riscaldati con vin brulè e bombardino, abbiamo fatto ritorno al Lastei, fatto un bagno in piscina, e poi un aperitivo con una cara amica, Veronica, che lavora nel Residence. Per fortuna i locali di Sabato erano aperti, così ho provato la tanta famosa Proseccheria. Infine alla sera, Veronica, ci ha fatto conoscere degli amici con i quali abbiamo fatto conoscenza mangiato una pizza insieme. Dopodichè, fine serata passata a giocare a One Piece.

Dopo aver preparato i bagagli in auto, abbiamo fatto colazione e infine una passeggiata tra i paesaggi innevati, dove una coppia di signori con il cane ha fatto amicizia con noi e, nel conversare, il signore mi ha fatto notare che il colore del cielo era unico, di un azzurro purissimo da un lato e di un turchese purissimo dall'altro, senza nemmeno una nuvola. Forse questo azzurro era presagio di vittoria dell'azzurra Argentina, vincitrice dei mondiali 2022 poche ore dopo, o forse no. Fatto sta che alle 13 siamo partiti da San Martino di Castrozza e alle 16 eravamo a Cesena, 3 ore, top record.
