RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL: Travel Guide to ALL Top Sights in 4K + Drone

Rio de Janeiro is a large metropolis. Many of Brazil's highlights are located in and around this metropolis. We will visit Cristo Redentor, Sugarloaf Mountain, the historic tramway of Santa Teresa, the Escadaria Selarón, the Botanical Garden and the neighborhoods of Botafogo, Copacabana and Ipanema. For us, the visit to Rio is the start of a two-month journey through Brazil, while we travel the world for more than a year in total.

We started on Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. After that you saw us in Oman, Cape Verde, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Tobago, Grenada, the Bahamas, the United States, Mexico, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. Brazil is already our fourteenth destination. Follow us on this world tour, first in Brazil and then to many more beautiful destinations! We also cross to Asia, Oceania and Africa! We travel non-stop all year round and film everything. Also take a look at instagram @woutoftheworld or

10 Top Tourist Attractions in Rio de Janeiro Brazil

10_ Lagoa Neighborhood The Lagoa area is not only the most exclusive neighborhood in the affluent Zona Sul district but is the third-most expensive neighborhood in all of South America. It is also home to a large lagoon known as the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. The four-mile path encircling the lagoon is a favorite spot for joggers and cyclists. Open-air cafés and restaurants along the shore offer stunning views of the lagoon and the beaches beyond.

9_ Maracana Stadium Football (or soccer)

8_Tijuca National Park One of the largest urban forest in the world,

7_ Lapa Neighborhood Located in the downtown section of Rio known as Centro, the Lapa neighborhood was once the city's red-light district. Today, the area is known for its vibrant nightlife. Lined with samba and choro bars, the music and dancing spills out into the street on weekend nights. Most of the neighborhood's architecture dates back to the 1800s, providing a scenic backdrop to all the festivities. It's the perfect place to meet up with friends and cariocas to sample local cuisine and to sip caipirinha, the national cocktail made with sugarcane hard liquor and lime. Escadaria Selarón, a set of famous steps connects both the Lapa and Santa Teresa neighborhoods.

6_ Santa Teresa Neighborhood Perched on a hill overlooking the city's harbor, the Santa Teresa neighborhood invites visitors to step back in time and experience the faded elegance of Rio's 19th-century plantation mansions and cobblestone streets. The region escaped development until 1896, when an aqueduct was built that linked the neighborhood to the city. The district was a haven for artists, musicians and writers in the 20th century, and although trendy clubs and boutiques have since overtaken the neighborhood, it still retains a friendly artist-colony vibe. The city's last remaining streetcar, the Santa Teresa Tram, used to be a popular tourist attractions in Rio de Janeiro but was closed after a serious accident on the line.

5_ Jardim Botanico Located to the west of the Lagoa neighborhood, the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden, or Jardim Botanico, houses more than 8,000 species of plants. Built in the early 1800s, the garden features many mature specimens, including avenues of towering palm trees. Visitors flock to the park to view the 600 species of orchids. The garden includes a number of monuments, fountains and features, including a Japanese garden, a pond filled with water lilies and the new Museu do Meio Ambiente, which displays exhibits that focus on the environment.

4_ Sugarloaf Mountain Rising 400 meters (1,300 feet) above the mouth of Guanabara Bay, Sugarloaf mountain is a monolith of quartz and granite that visitors can crest via a glass-walled cable car known as a bondinho or teleférico. The cable car departs every 20 minutes from the base of Babilônia hill and climbs to the top of the Morro da Urca hill. From there, visitors can take a second cable car up to the mountain's summit.

3_ Ipanema The beach made famous in the bossa nova song The Girl from Ipanema in the 1960s remains one of Rio's most popular tourist spots today. A long, arcing expanse of soft white sand and rolling waves, Ipanema routinely reaches the top of the Best Beaches in the World lists year after year. The beach is bordered by a well-organized grid of shops, cafés and restaurants as well as an array of art galleries, theaters and clubs.

2_ Copacabana Separated from Ipanema to the west by surfer-favored Arpoador beach, Copacabana has a more active vibe than its equally famous neighbor. Rio locals, called cariocas, always seem to have a game of soccer or volleyball in play, and vendors vociferously hawk their drinks and snacks from the kiosks that line the beach. Fort Copacabana, a military base with a wartime museum that is open to the public, stands at one end of the beach. On the length of beach fronting the fort, fishermen offer up their morning catch for sale.

1_ Christ the Redeemer Perched atop the 710 meter (2,330 feet) high peak of Corcovado Peak, the statue of Cristo Redentor stands with arms outstretched, gazing serenely out over the city. Construction of the statue began in 1922 during the heyday of the Art Deco movement, and the concrete and soapstone statue is considered the largest statue designed in the genre in the world. Most visitors take a vertical cog train to reach the base of the summit. From there, visitors to the monument once had to climb hundreds of steps to reach the top. Today, elevators and escalators are available to shorten the trip.

I grew up coming here every year and will teach you the inside tips about downtown Buzios, including the nightlife. More details about what you see in this Brazil travel vlog:

► Buzios: The official name of the city is 'Armação dos Búzios', but everyone just refers to it as 'Búzios'. This is a beach community in the state of Rio de Janeiro, and a popular getaway for Brazilians and Argentinians. Basically an unknown fishing village until the 1960s, it was made famous by French actress Brigitte Bardot.

► Rua das Pedras: Translating, the name means stones' street, and that's exactly what you'll see. More than that, it's Buzios' main street, with an active nightlife and a nice variety of shopping and restaurants.

► Orla Bardot: Named after Brigitte Bardot, this is the strip of land that connects Praia da Armação with Rua das Pedras, the main street in town. Brigitte Bardot is also honored along the oceanfront path with a bronze statue.

► Praia da Armação: This beach is located downtown, next to Rua das Pedras and in front of Orla Bardot. To this date, it is still full of fishing boats. Their old houses have been restored and are now lovely restaurants and pousadas. From this beach, you can get the boat tours to the various other beaches in Buzios.

► WHO AM I?

I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged the life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer.

I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!

P.S.: The guy who occasionally appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and is extremely shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time ;)

2 Gringos Try Coca In Colombia ????????

After Barranquilla I made my way to Santa Marta where I met Stephan.
Together we decided to go on a little journey to Palomino, a neighbouring town about a 3 hours bus drive away.
There we decided to rent and learn how to ride some bikes for the first time and try go find some coca in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Do you think we will be able to find and try some coca?

This was a very challenging video to edit, having to write subtitles for everything and also to upload as my internet connection in the apartment is very bad so I'm uploading this from a cafe as I write this.

If you want to follow me behind the scenes my Instagram is: kurtcazyoutube

Visiting Parque de las Aguas and trying a surprising drink in LIMA, PERU

Our last day in Lima, Peru! And we enjoyed it by filming a travel video at Parque de la Reserva, popularly known as Parque de las Aguas due to the beautiful magic water circuit. And being in Peru, we had to try the coca leaf! Coca leaves are harmless in small quantities and even have medicinal effects, especially against altitude sickness. You see them being sold all over Lima, and today we tried coca leaf in a drink.

More about Lima, Peru:

Lima, the capital of Peru, is a vibrant and lively city. The Centro Historico district is a UNESCO World Heritage site and the birthplace of the city. You can see more in this other vlog in Lima:

The most well-known district in Lima is Miraflores. It's also among the main tourist attractions in Lima. Miraflores is an exclusive residential and upscale shopping district south of downtown with various hotels, shops, bars, restaurants, cafes, and nightclubs. You can see Miraflores here:

Barranco is considered Lima's most bohemian district, being the home and working place of many of Peru's artists, musicians, and photographers. In the 19th-century, it was a fashionable beach resort for the rich and famous, and today, Barranco's beaches are still among the most popular in Lima. Here's an entire vlog in Barranco:
