Tarapur is a census town in Palghar district (earlier Palghar was taluka and has recently notified as district) in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is an industrial town located some 45 km north of Virar, on the Western
Railway line of Mumbai Suburban Division (Mumbai Suburban Railway). Tarapur can be reached from Boisar, the nearest railway station. It is 20 km off National Highway NH-8.
Chinchani Beach
Vangaon Railway station serves as a primary railway station around 8 km away. Boisar railway station is around 10 km, while Dahanu Road railway station is around 15 km from the town. Basically, a twin town of Chinchani-Tarapur which are separated geographical by border of Dahanu & Palghar talukas, where Chinchani come under Dahanu taluka & Tarapur in Palghar. Thus it enjoys good road connectivity with both the big towns as well as Boisar.Regular ST buses (state transport) & also Auto rickshaws ply to this nearby big towns.

Chinchani beach is away from the hustle bustle. It’s still very much unexplored. The beach is very clean and it’s a motorable beach. You can drive on the beach. There is small temple just near the beach. Best time to visit the beach is evening when one can enjoy beautiful sunset. There is chowpatty on the beach.
Kelwa Beach, also known as Kelva or Kelwe Beach, is a beach in Maharashtra, India.[1] It is a popular weekend getaway for tourists from Mumbai. The beach is about 8 kilometres long. Although not a very famous tourist attraction, the beach is overcrowded with local tourists during weekends, which indicates its growing popularity. It is also a 25-minute ride on an 8-seater rickshaw from Palghar. The Shitla Devi Temple, a Hindu temple, is situated just besides the beach. It is believed that the two sons of Lord Ram, Luv and Kush, lived here when Sita was in exile for the second time.
Bordi and Chinchani beach
Bordi is a village in the Palghar district of Maharashtra, India. It is located in the Dahanu taluka. Its a small town with no hustle bustle so one can relax there. There are many resorts to stay there. Beaches there are not that extrordinary but its a cool place to spend a weekend. Bordi is an idyllic beachfront, 160 km North of Mumbai surrounded by Chikoo orchards all over the area. Dahanu beach is 15 km from Bordi and also known as Dahanu chowpaty. Chinchani beach is about 30 km from Bordi and a very flat beach with white sand. Its a lovely place to spend evening and watch sun going down.

Tarapur chinchani beach:
Chinchani Beach is a Large Beach situated in Tarapur not too far from the Tarapur Atomic Energy Plant.
Mallika Arjuna Mahadev Temple:
It is very old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and built around 500 years ago. It is located on the bank of seasonal lake in village Majigam near Chikhli in Navsari District. Swayambhu Shivlinga embedded inside the ground and history of this temple is not known.But according to local people, temple was erect by Banjara community and when they tried to relocate Shivlinga to other place, miraculously Shivlinga went deeper into the ground.
Other small shrine of various deity built around the main Shiva temple. The interior part of the dome has painting of ten incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Lots of devotee of Lord Shiva visit here during the Shravan month, on Maha Shivratri and on Kali Chaudash.
