Balakumari hill station is 33km away from silk city Brahmapur, 208km away from smart city Bhubaneswar (Capital of Odisha) & 5.5km away from Chikiti. There are two ways to reach neat temple one is road way another one is steps. Exactly 1272 steps are there to reach near the temple. Balakumari is a place near Chikiti block in Ganjam district of Odisha. Balakumari is 32 kms from Berhampur city of Ganjam. There is Maa Balakumari temple, which is a holy pilgrim of Maa Durga. Balakumari is a famous picnic spot for the people living in southern part of Odisha and Andhra during the winter season. Balakumari is also famous for trekking and good picturesque at the temple top. Balakumari temple is in the top of a hill named Keerandimala hill, roadway to the temple top is available via car or two-wheeler. Trekking option is also available by climbing up 1272 steps to reach Maa Balakumari temple. Balakumari is also known as Vaishnavi Maa Peetha. The presiding deity- Maa Balakumari is Goddess Durga. You can spend 1 to 2 hours at this place. Temple hours is 9am to 6pm daily.

#Balakumari is a famous goddess situated on the top of the Kerandimaal mountain range near #Chikiti, #Ganjam District of #Odisha. Known to be the deity of Royals of Chikiti Princely State or commonly known as Gadajaats in Odisha, Balakumari has converted now into a beautiful #tourist destination due to lots of development, roads, etc.
How to Reach- From #Brahmapur City it's only 35 KM via National Highway towards Vishakhapatnam. The nearest Major Railway Station is Brahmapur, and Airport is Bhubaneswar.
Travel Advisory- The hill roads are quite stiff, so make sure your vehicle is in perfect condition to ride. If you are coming on 2 wheelers, make sure your vehicle is at least 150 CC engine otherwise it will be difficult to drive.
What to Do- The mountain top has the Goddess Temple and lots of Viewpoints which gives goosebumps, but if you can bring #paragliding tools or #mountain climbing tools, you can have that adventure here with prior permission from the local administration.
When To Visit- The best time is Winters, But the place is good in any season or weather condition to visit as the condition remains very calm and peaceful here. The place is very clean with respect to most picnic spots in India.

Balakumari or Maa Balakumari is a tourist place destination in Odisha. The place is well known as a holy pilgrim destination for a temple where Maa Balakumari is worshiped on the top of the mountain near chikiti. Temple of Maa Balakumari was founded by the royal family of Chikiti. Maa Balakumari is the famous goddess of the locality. The temple is situated in the east of the town Chikiti. The place is provided with all necessary features. Tourists have to climb 1240 steps to reach at the top of the temple. The temple reigned by Goddess Durga is frequented by people of many parts of Southern Odisha (Chikiti) and near areas of Andhra Pradesh. The place is at a distance of 52 km from the district headquarters and at a distance of 208 km from state capital. One of the important festivals celebrated at the temple is Sankranti day of each month and all Tuesdays.

Balakumari or Maa Balakumari is a tourist place destination in Odisha. Temple of Maa Balakumari was founded by the royal family of Chikiti. Maa Balakumari is the famous goddess of the locality. The temple is situated in the east of the town Chikiti. The place is provided with all necessary features. Tourists have to climb 1240 steps to reach at the top of the temple. The temple reigned by Goddess Durga is frequented by people of many parts of Southern Odisha (Chikiti) and near areas of Andhra Pradesh. The place is at a distance of 52 km from the district headquarters and at a distance of 208 km from state capital. One of the important festivals celebrated at the temple is Sankranti day of each month and all Tuesdays.
