Paris France travel tips (Aug 10 2015), part 1
Here's some sightseeing tour guide advice when travelling alone (solo).
With four days off from work, I hopped onto the first flight to Paris the next day.
This is the first episode of my attempt to revisit my favorite places in Paris, France in 2 days.
It's amazing how little Paris has changed since my last visit seven years ago.
Some travel tips :
1. Because I'm travelling as a non-revenue passenger, I always wait until I arrive before I book my hotel (using the free airport Wi-Fi).
2. Remember that U.S. credit cards don't always work in Europe, so use cash for daily transactions.
3. To avoid theft, wear a money belt containing your essentials : Passport, credit cards, cash and your return plane ticket home.
4. Use the Tourist Information booth at the airport (terminal 1, usually no lines) !
Buy yourself a Paris Museum Pass to skip the many ticket buying lines in Paris (although the Museum Pass excludes the Eiffel Tower).
5. Buy a Paris Visite day pass for zones 1-3 or buy a 10 ticket carnet (which is cheaper) to get around Paris.
6. For transportation, I recommend taking the RER B train into Paris versus the Roissy bus. Trains are almost always faster because they aren't slowed down by traffic and yet have more stops to choose from.
The Roissy bus only makes one stop in the city, at Place de l'Opera.

La vallée de Chevreuse, c'est mon petit coin de paradis à moi. J'habite à deux pas de cet écrin de verdure, et il faut dire que j'adore ! La vallée de Chevreuse, situé dans les Yvelines, c'est de la nature, de la faune, flore, de magnifiques paysages, de la gastronomie et du patrimoine !
C'est grâce à un blog trip de deux jours, organisé par Yvelines Tourisme et le Parc Naturel Régional de la Vallée de Chevreuse, que j'ai pu redécouvrir ces coins que j'aime tant.
Au programme : une balade de plusieurs kilomètres en VAE, la visite du domaine de Dampierre, la fabrication d'un sirop à l'ananas et au gingembre, la visite de l'abbaye des Vaux de Cernay et du Petit Moulin de l'Abbaye des Vaux de Cernay. Bref, que des endroits que j'adore ! Et vous, vous connaissez ces endroits ?

Chevreuse was founded in the 10th century, and celebrated its first millennium of existence in 1980.
Its castle, the Château de la Madeleine, dates back to the 11th century.
Chevreuse is located south of Paris, in the middle of a regional natural park, Parc naturel régional de la haute vallée de Chevreuse.
The river Yvette flows through the area, forming the fertile Vallée de Chevreuse.
It will be an amazing walk through this wonderful famous town.
We will also visit the territory of the medieval castle de la Madeleine, which rises above the town. We will walk along the tributary of the Yvette river, on the banks of which there are tanneries and skin dryers preserved from ancient times.

LA ROCHE-GUYON: The Most Beautiful Village in Île de France
Thanks to its impossibly tall tower presiding high above the rest of the village and its enviable position alongside the River Seine, La Roche-Guyon looks like something plucked straight out of a fairytale. Nestled within the Vexin National Park, here's your guide to the best of La Roche-Guyon.
La Roche-Guyon is located within the Île de France region of France (i.e. the same one as Paris). But perhaps what sets it apart from all of the other quaint villages and small towns in the area (including nearby Givrny) is that it is classed as one of 'Les plus beaux villages de France' (the most beautiful villages in France), making it the only village to have been given such a prestigious title within Ile de France.
