城中村是中国大陆地区城市化进程中出现的一种特有的现象。改革开放后的30多年间里，一些经济发达地区（如珠三角、长三角、环渤海、直辖市、省会城市等）城市的建成面积迅速扩张，原先分布在城市周边的农村被纳入城市的版图，被鳞次栉比的高楼大厦所包围，成为了“都市里的村庄”。
作为广东省的省会，广州经济体量极大，一直领跑其他城市。常住人口高达1500万人，每年都会有大量人群涌入。
奋斗多年的广漂们，有些经过多年奋斗后，在广州买了住房，扎根于此。也有些人，难以维持生活，只能黯然退场。
这便是广州魔力所在，每个人在这里，都可以无限发挥自己的才智。广州属于人口流入型城市，大量外来人口涌入。
因此，广州的房价呈逐年递升态势。对于初到广州的广漂而言，城中村似乎成为他们安身立命之处。
广州市天河区有大量的城中村，交通发达，配套设施齐全。
生活在这里，能够让居住者体验到城市生活的便利。不过，当你走进城中村内部时，你可能为眼前景象震惊。
低矮的出租屋，阴暗潮湿、密不透风。不仅周围充斥着一股霉臭味，即便是外边阳光明媚，内部也是十分阴暗。
即便，租客居住在较高楼层，也难以逃脱房屋布局的困扰。由于居住的公寓楼，皆为原有居民自建，因此均无电梯。
每日下班回家后，看着眼前需要攀爬的楼梯，心中有种说不出的酸楚感。但是，就这样的居住条件，也难以阻挡大家居住的热情。
房东为了容纳更多租客，在城内建造起七八层的公寓楼。由于缺少规划，导致楼间距极其狭窄，仅有一米间距。
别说开车了，就算骑着一辆电瓶车，稍有不慎就难以通行。这样的居住条件，对于身在异乡的广漂而言，影响极大。
阴暗的出租屋内，有刚毕业的大学生，也有出门在外的打工仔。在广州这座城市，低廉的房租，似乎成为广漂选择住房的唯一标准。
在城中村内，一间房子，仅需要四五百元。相比城外面动辄几千元的单元楼，这里更加适合初来乍到的广漂一族。
城中村内，一天最为热闹的莫过于晚上。待在房内过于压抑，需要下楼出门逛逛，各式各样的衣服，天南海北的小吃。
当然，在小巷子的角落，会有几间闪着粉红色暧昧灯光的按摩店，店内女郎或是穿着黑丝袜高跟鞋、或是穿着低胸装，坐在里面等待客人。无数个单身汉每当夜幕降临，会趁着夜色潜入店内。
这客观上也降低了对于女性侵犯的案发率。
