Promoviendo el Ecoturismo, una práctica de Biocomercio para el desarrollo sostenible del Perú
Perúbiodiverso promueve el Biocomercio en el Perú, fomentando la transformación y comercialización sostenible de bienes derivados de la biodiversidad nativa.
Con el fin de asegurar el futuro de los recursos biológicos y contribuir a mejorar los niveles de vida de la población rural, Perúbiodiverso apoya a empresas y asociaciones de productores que trabajan bajo criterios de sostenibilidad ambiental, social y económica.
Asimismo, a través de la Dirección Regional de Comercio Exterior y Turismo -- Dircetur de la región San Martín, Perúbiodiverso asesoró en el proceso de formulación e implementación del Plan Estratégico Regional de Turismo 2008-2013 e impulsó el desarrollo de tres emprendimientos piloto de ecoturismo en las comunidades Sauce, Chazuta y el Área de Conservación Municipal Asociación Hídrica Aguajal Renacal del Alto Mayo (AHARAM) en los sectores Lloros y Tingana en San Martín.
Perúbiodiverso es una iniciativa conjunta de la Cooperación Suiza - SECO y la cooperación alemana al desarrollo - GIZ, en convenio con el MINCETUR, PROMPERÚ y el MINAM, ejecutada por el Programa de Desarrollo Rural Sostenible (PDRS) de GIZ.

Peru is one of the great centers of ancient civilization. The Norte Chico civilization already flourished along the Pacific coast as early as 3,000 BC. Many other civilizations such as the Moche, Chavin, Chim� and Nazca would follow, leaving behind fascinating ruins and artifacts. The most famous ancient ruins in Peru were built by the sun-worshiping Incas who emerged in the 15th century and would form the largest empire in pre-Columbian America.
You do not need to be a history buff to enjoy Peru however. Other popular tourist attractions in Peru are some great natural wonders. The Andes run the full length of the country, rising to almost 7,000 meters (23,000 feet), and separate the arid coastal strip from the lush Amazon rainforest providing a diverse range of travel experiences.

Peru Trip Day 6 Leaving Tarapoto
Our final day in Tarapoto. We finish up on the construction project in Llucanayacu while the medical, dental, sewing, eyeglasses and children ministry work in Chazuta. Pastor Adan invites us back to his church for a meal that almost reminds us home. We end the day with a special service and worship.

Amazon Jungle Peru
Since I was in South America, I had to check out at least one part of the Amazon while I was there. So I did.
Travelled for days around Tarapoto and saw a great many things that weren't in the video. Had a black widow land on my hand, was chased by a rabid dog on New Years day, was burnt by a firework that exploded in front of me.
The Amazonian mythology is very interesting as well. There are little retreats in the jungle or by the side of the great river huallaga that serve ayahuasca tea in a safer environment.
The jungle was teeming with life! I saw a big slow loris climbing a tall tree. I saw many birds and flora, it was everything you'd expect from the great Amazon!
