Quarantine in Guatemala (Day 10-11) | I have been staying at home for 4 days | Antigua | Ep. 77

After quarantine at home for 4 days in Guatemala, I finally went out because I was running out of drinking water. It was so nice to have some sun and fresh air. Outside was very quiet especially early in the morning. Some homeless people were still around the Central Park area. I wasn't sure where did they go during curfew. The weather in Antigua is still pretty chill. I hope some hot coffee can keep them warm for a while.

Since I have no schedule now, I am trying intermittent fasting again by having my first meal at 11am and last meal at 7pm. My purpose is to have a healthy body in a long run. Better physical figure is not the priority for me anymore. Because a nice body is not equal to a healthy body.

Wi-fi is extremely slow in here. After 6 hours, not even half of the video is being uploaded. (I ended up use the hotspot from my phone to upload the second half which only took 10 mins ????)

See you in the comment section or live chat.

The market in Nebaj is very colorful and unlike many of the other marked that we've seen in Guatemala not catering for tourists but for the local people of Nebaj and the villages around.

The road from Nebaj to Coban

There are many different opinions about the road condition from Nebaj to Coban
Especially the information about the stretch from Uspantan to San Christobal is very unclear.
This movie shows the worst stretch of this very passable road.

Latin America: Our journey through Brazil, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Panama

This video is a recap of my recent travel through Latin America. It was a complete eye-opener. We backpacked 2 months in 4 different countries: Brazil to Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Panama. We started our journey in Rio de Janeiro. Unfortunately, we had some bad luck with the weather. The next stop was Manaus. Here you should do a Manaus jungle tour. We stayed a week in the Amazon jungle. From here we flew to Guatemala. One of the best things to do here is the climb of Acatenango. we had a beautiful view and saw the volcano erupt. The climb was pretty hard so we took some leisure time in Lake Atitlan. It is a lake with 7 villages around it. Personally, I liked San Marcos the most. It had this great vibe. We took the bus to our next stop. Livingston is a small hippie village on the coast. We were lucky to have a cabana with a private beach. It was only a 15minute walk to Siete altares. These were stunning puddles with some small waterfalls. You could do some small cliff jumps here It was great to get the salt from our skin. If you rather like a picturesque city you should go to Flores. This is a perfect place to have a stroll around. It is also the gateway to the ancient ruins of Tikal. To save some time we took the plane to Costa Rica from here. We went straight to La Fortuna. Here we found one of the hidden gems of Costa Rica. A secret rope swing called El Salto. It is a small waterfall with a big puddle it is a perfect afternoon activity. Especially because it is a free waterfall. Costa Rica is expensive enough. In Costa Rica we a blast. We made some awesome friendships. Together we explored the beautiful nature of Costa Rica. You can't go to the wrong place in this country. Our stops were Manuel Antonio and Puerto Viejo. From here it is easy to cross the border to Panama. You can easily go from Puerto Viejo to Bocas Del Toro. Because our time was almost over. We decided not to travel too much anymore. We went to El Valle de Anton and Panama city. El Valle was great to hike. And Panama City is one of the best city's I have been to.

I hope you enjoy this video. And if you have any Questions feel free to ask them in the comments.

This Guatemalan Town was Ravaged by War: Life of the Ixil Mayans

Acul is a remote village deep in the Ixil Triangle of Northwest Guatemala. It took me an hour from the capital city of Nebaj, all on dirt roads, to get to this place. Surprisingly, I found out that this village was known for its cheese production, and we also examine the effects of American money on your typical Guatemalan village.

If you like the video, please, Like it and subscribe to my channel. Si te gusta el video, dale Me gusta y suscríbete a mi canal

I took this trip in the August 2011. First part of the video shows an over night hike to the top of Tajumulco Volcano (Volcán Tajumulco) organized by Quetzaltrekkers nonprofit organization - . Tajumulco's elevation is 4220 meters (13845 feet). The second part is of a hike close to the town of Nebaj in the El Quiche department and a walk through the town itself. Nebaj is located in the northern part of the Guatemala mountains. It is a beautiful town with predominantly indigenous population of Ixil Mayans. The town is situated in a valley surrounded by mountains at 1900 meters above sea level. There are tons of hiking trails that lead in all directions. Quetzaltrekkers do a 6 day hike from Nebaj to Todos Santos.

Deep in the Mayan jungle you will never guess what we found!

We had the amazing opportunity to go out exploring in a remote part of the Mayan jungle in Mexico. It was a 4 hour trip hiking into the jungle. What we discovered was incredible! Make sure you see the second half of the video.
We wanted to share this with you because we hope it shows how much there is to discover in Mexico and how we all can be supportive to preserve the story of humanity. We wrote an article that tells more of the story of journeying in to the jungle. We also have more photos and details in our article here:
