Esfahan A living museum of traditional culture, Esfahan is one of the top tourist destinations in Iran. The old Islamic buildings along with the Persian gardens give this city a beautiful appeal.
Imam Mosque and Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque are the biggest attractions along with the historic bazaar which brings visitors to this gem of a city.

Chalus (Persian: چالوس) is a city in Mazandaran Province in north of Iran.
It serves as the county seat for Chalus County. According to the 2006 census, it has a population of 44,618, in 12,791 families.
Chalus is a major vacation destination for Iranians during holidays for its nice weather and natural attractions. One of the great attractions of Chalus is the mountainous road leading to Chalus, widely known as Chalus Road. This city has a reputation for a number of villages, one of which is called Shahrak-e Namak Abrud. This village offers a variety of different entertaining activities, such as a cable car, offering a view of the surrounding mountains.
One of the sights of Chalus is its bazaar. It has a large market where you can buy fresh fish and fruits.

Chalus and Nowshahr are two beautiful cities in Mazandaran province in northern Iran. The two cities are located 5 km apart and are connected by a road. What you see in this video starts from the beautiful city of Nowshahr and reaches the beautiful city of Chalus.

Road 59, also known as the Chalous Road or Kandovan Road, is an important road for people of Tehran, a large number of whom drive to popular tourist attractions in the north of Iran on weekends and for holidays. This road is one of the busiest roads in Iran. There is a tunnel in this road that name Kandovan. Kandovan tunnel built in four years from 1935 until 1939 without technology! that's amazing.

Road 59, also known as the Chalus Road (Persian: جاده چالوس) or Kandovan Road (جاده کندوان), is an important road for people of Tehran, many of whom drive to popular tourist attractions in the north of Iran on weekends and for holidays. This road is one of the busiest in Iran. There is a tunnel in this road that is called Kandovan. The Kandovan tunnel was built in four years from 1935 to 1939.

جاده چالوس، با نام رسمی جاده ۵۹، یکی از مهمترین جاده‌های دسترسی به شمال ایران برای مردم تهران و کرج است که از میان شهر کرج در استان البرز شروع و به شهر چالوس در مازندران وصل می‌شود. برخی این جاده را یکی از زیباترین جاده‌های جهان می‌دانند. محور چالوس - کرج از بی نظیرترین مناظر و چشم‌اندازهای بکر و طبیعی و از پرطرفدارترین مسیرهای منتهی به شمال کشور می‌باشد که همین امر گاهی سبب ترافیک‌های سنگین در تعطیلات می‌شود. این جاده یکی از جاده‌های پر رفت و آمدترین جاده ها است.

Chalus Road road and Kandovan tunnel - Beautiful Iran
The Karaj – Chalous road starts in the middle of Karaj and after crossing the Alborz mountain chain, it reaches Chalous city and the Caspian sea side. At the time of constructing the Chalous road there was no other solution but to excavate a tunnel through the mountain otherwise one had to go round it. On 11th of May 1935 the first dynamite was used to create an opening from where workers continued digging with pick and chip-axes. The construction of this 1884 m long, 5.5 m wide, and 6 m high tunnel took three years and was inaugurated on 17th of May 1938.
In 1995 it was suggested to widen the road for bi-directional traffic. However due to the presence of ground water, and weakening of the rock and soil mass over the years, works progressed slowly when the old rock cover of the tunnel was removed and several collapses occurred. This project was completed after seven years in 2002.

Chalus (Persian: چالوس) is a city in Mazandaran Province in north of Iran.
It serves as the county seat for Chalus County. According to the 2006 census, it has a population of 44,618, in 12,791 families.
Chalus is a major vacation destination for Iranians during holidays for its nice weather and natural attractions. One of the great attractions of Chalus is the mountainous road leading to Chalus, widely known as Chalus Road. This city has a reputation for a number of villages, one of which is called Shahrak-e Namak Abrud. This village offers a variety of different entertaining activities, such as a cable car, offering a view of the surrounding mountains.
