10. Chenonceau
The Château de Chenonceau is a French château near the small village of Chenonceaux, in the Indre-et-Loire département of the Loire Valley in France. The château was built on the site of an old mill on the River Cher, sometime before its first mention in writing in the 11th century. It was designed by the French Renaissance architect Philibert de l'Orme.

A brand new network of cycle-paths and cycle routes on minor roads now makes cycling along the River Loire even more enjoyable -- and safer -- than it was before.
8. Chartres cathedral
Chartres Cathedral is a medieval Roman Rite Catholic cathedral located in Chartres, about 80 kilometres southwest of Paris. It is considered one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The current cathedral, mostly constructed between 1194 and 1250, is the last of at least five which have occupied the site since the town became a bishopric in the 4th century.
7. Food markets
Every town has its lively, traditional weekly market where you can stock up on picnic provisions and local specialities.
6. Canoe and kayak trips
The best way to get to know the River Loire is by boat, and you can rent canoes and kayaks all over the region.
5. Montsoreau and Candes-St-Martin
Candes-Saint-Martin is a commune in the Indre-et-Loire department in central France. It overlooks the confluence of the Vienne and Loire rivers from a steep hill on the left bank of the Loire, and marks the boundary between the modern departments of Indre-et-Loire to the east, and Maine-et-Loire to the West.
4. Villandry gardens
The lands where an ancient fortress once stood were known as Colombier until the 17th century. Acquired in the early 16th century by Jean Le Breton, France's Controller-General for War under King Francis I, a new château was constructed around the original 14th-century keep where King Philip II of France once met Richard I of England to discuss peace. It is also known for its beautiful gardens.
3. Au Cabernet d'Anjou
This former Loire mariners' bar enjoys a sun-flooded terrace overlooking one of the prettiest stretches of the river.
2. Chateaudun
Looming over the river on its clifftop height, little-visited Chateaudun is an eerily Gothic chateau. Châteaudun is located about 45 km northwest of Orléans, and about 50 km south-southwest of Chartres, on the river Loir, a tributary of the Sarthe.
1. Chateau de Blois
The Royal Château de Blois is located in the Loir-et-Cher département in the Loire Valley, in France, in the center of the city of Blois. The residence of several French kings, it is also the place where Joan of Arc went in 1429 to be blessed by the Archbishop of Reims before departing with her army to drive the English from Orléans. Built in the middle of the town that it effectively controlled, the château of Blois comprises several buildings constructed from the 13th to the 17th century around the main courtyard.

LAVANDES À 1H30 DE PARIS⎜Que faire en Eure-et-Loir : la belle surprise !
C’est à seulement 1h30 de Paris qu’on vous emmène découvrir un nouveau coin de notre beau pays. Vous n’allez pas croire ce qu’on a pu voir et faire pendant cette semaine de voyage en France. Si on vous dit des champs de lavande, vous pensez vous dirigez dans le sud ? Et bien non ! On vous embarque cette fois-ci dans la région Centre Val de Loire : direction l’Eure-et-Loir. Croyez-nous, on va vous surprendre !
Que faire en Eure-et-Loir pour un séjour proche de Paris ? C’est parti pour un séjour slow life et rempli de belles surprises.
Facilement accessible en train jusqu’à sa préfecture Chartres, le département de l’Eure-et-Loir est un concentré de nature à l’état pur. Entre grands champs de blé, de tournesol et même de lavandin, ou encore ses magnifiques étendues de forêts, c’est une réelle invitation à ralentir. Nous avons donc débuté ce reportage en visitant Chartres et sa magnifique cathédrale. Elle trône en plein milieu de la ville et fait surtout partie des premiers monuments à être inscrit au Patrimoine Mondial de l’UNESCO en 1979. Chartres, c’est aussi une vieille ville dans la partie haute avec ses façades colorées et à colombages, des beaux monuments, l’Eure qui la traverse, des restaurants et cafés ultra branchés et surtout Chartres en lumières. Un spectacle pour petits et grands, d’une incroyable beauté ! Voici quelques idées de choses à faire et voir si vous venez visiter Chartres :
- Cathédrale Notre-Dame
- Collégiale Saint-André
- Balade sur l’Eure en kayak
- Chartres en lumières
- Maison Picassiette
…
Ce séjour ne s’arrête pas seulement à la préfecture. Mais alors que faire en Eure-et-Loir ? On vous parlait de slow tourisme en pleine nature, direction deux territoires très connus du département : le Perche et la Vallée du Loir. Pour ce faire, on vous recommande clairement de vous balader dans le Parc Naturel Régional du Perche à pied ou à vélo. Mais également de découvrir de lieux emblématiques comme :
- Le Château des Comtes du Perche
- Thiron-Gardais pour son Abbaye + le Collège Royal et Militaire de Stéphane Bern
- Le Château de Villebon
Côté Vallée du Loir, c’est également un mix entre patrimoine et nature. Nous avons notamment découvert :
- Le jardins Duchaylatière de Jean-Pierre Coffe
- Châteaudun
- Bonneval et ses canaux surnommée “Venise de la Beauce”
On a terminé ce séjour en beauté par une expérience hors du commun, en dînant à bord... d’une montgolfière ! Nous avions déjà volé de manière traditionnelle, mais cette expérience est juste hors du commun. Nous n’avions pas les mots tellement c’était magique.
Ce nouveau VLOG voyage a vraiment pour but de vous inspirer à voyager en France. L’Eure-et-Loir nous a surpris et on pèse nos mots. On espère vous avoir donné envie d’aller visiter ce magnifique département pour un voyage au rythme de la slow life.

Château de Châteaudun. ????
Le château de Châteaudun est un château édifié entre le XIIe siècle et le XVe et XVIe siècles et qui est situé sur un éperon rocheux dominant la ville de Châteaudun et le Loir, dans le département d’Eure-et-Loir en France. Le donjon, bâtiment le plus ancien, a été construit vers 1180 par Thibaut V, comte de Blois. Jean de Dunois (1402-1468), bâtard de Louis Ier d'Orléans et compagnon de Jeanne d'Arc qui avait reçu le château en récompense de la libération de son demi-frère Charles d’Orléans, prisonnier des Anglais, le transforme en résidence en ajoutant un corps de logis de style gothique et la chapelle. Une deuxième aile de style Renaissance est ajoutée au XVIIe siècle.
Le château, qui est parfaitement conservé, est géré par le centre des monuments nationaux et est protégé au titre des monuments historiques.

S6 Ep3 Motorhome France - Chateaudun, Chevanceaux and Bidart
This week we carry on our tour heading south through France. We leave the tranquil campinc car park of Chateaudun in the Eure-et -Loir in Northern France traveling along the N10 avoiding toll roads wherever possible.
The weather was hot but the skies were a pasty white. We managed to drive down to a small town called Chevanceaux in the Charente-Maritime department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in southwestern France. We found a municipal campsite which thankfully had trees to park under to shade us from the hot sun.
From Chevanceaux we continued heading passed Bordeaux to stay at Ondres where we have previously stayed. We love the big open spanse of the beach and the dogs are allowed to run free.

We had hoped to make Spain for our next stop but unfortunately the sites were full so we found solace in a lovely town called Bidart.
The weather here was one of the hottest we have experiences whilst traveling in our motorhome. So it was up early to walk the dogs before it got too hot and the rest of the day was spent chilling by the pool and motorhome. The thunderstorm on the last night was probably one of the loudest we have experienced.
But it was soon time to move and head into Spain as we were trying to race and beat the cycle tour that was due in Northern Spain within the next few days.
