Andlau, France | A Visit to a Medieval French Town
Andlau, a lovely small town in Eastern France, is a wonderful place to visit and spend an hour or two wandering around.
The town, or commune, has been around for more than 1000 years and owes its existence to the Andlau Abbey in the center of the town.
It's most well-known for the delicious wine that's grown in the region and the Medieval features throughout the town also make it quite an interesting and picturesque place to visit.
Even though I visited Andlau in August there were hardly any other tourists around and I basically had the entire place to myself.
With a population of just under 2,000 people it's a very quiet and peaceful place and it's nice to visit if you're looking to escape the tourist crowds of the towns nearby that are much busier.

Vlog : la vallée de Chevreuse
La vallée de Chevreuse, c'est mon petit coin de paradis à moi. J'habite à deux pas de cet écrin de verdure, et il faut dire que j'adore ! La vallée de Chevreuse, situé dans les Yvelines, c'est de la nature, de la faune, flore, de magnifiques paysages, de la gastronomie et du patrimoine !
C'est grâce à un blog trip de deux jours, organisé par Yvelines Tourisme et le Parc Naturel Régional de la Vallée de Chevreuse, que j'ai pu redécouvrir ces coins que j'aime tant.
Au programme : une balade de plusieurs kilomètres en VAE, la visite du domaine de Dampierre, la fabrication d'un sirop à l'ananas et au gingembre, la visite de l'abbaye des Vaux de Cernay et du Petit Moulin de l'Abbaye des Vaux de Cernay. Bref, que des endroits que j'adore ! Et vous, vous connaissez ces endroits ?

Kaysersberg - One of the Most Beautiful French Villages - Alsace With its Impressive Architecture
Kaysersberg is a former French commune located in the Haut-Rhin department, in the Grand Est region. This small commune is located in the historical and cultural region of Alsace and became, on January 1, 2016, a delegated commune of the commune news from Kaysersberg Vignoble. Its inhabitants are called Kaysersbergeois and Kaysersbergeoises.
Kaysersberg was voted France's favorite village after the France 2 program presented by Stéphane Bern on Tuesday. It was in competition with twelve other exceptional municipalities.
The Kaysersberg valley has an identity marked and shaped by its unique history. It is the reflection of a region crossed by the tumults of history and the various cultural, religious or architectural movements. It is a syncretic richness that one finds while traversing the valley of Kaysersberg. Romanesque church, stone fortifications, cobbled streets, half-timbered houses, places of meditation, frescoes by Maurice Denis, there are many examples of a past that marked its presence.
History of Kaysersberg:
Due to its strategic position which makes it possible to control the transit between Haute Alsace and Lorraine (via the Bonhomme pass), the Kaysersberg valley has been occupied by the military since Roman times. At the beginning of the 13th century (around 1218), the fortress was built. It is the beginning of the prosperous period of the city, under the control of the Hohenstaufen family. Kaysersberg became imperial city of the Holy Empire in 1293.
In the 14th and 15th centuries, the city prospered thanks to the granting of numerous privileges such as the right to have a weekly market and an annual fair. The city is part of the Decapolis (mutual alliance of 10 cities in Alsace). Its wine production was very successful and was exported as far as the Empire.
The 17th century was difficult following the Thirty Years' War which left the region ruined by the passage of different armies, but the city returned to prosperity in the second half of the century.
In the 19th century, a large number of textile industries settled in the region and the 20th century saw the city partially destroyed by the Second World War.

Si Reims est connue pour ses monuments, son champagne et ses biscuits, elle l'est un peu moins pour son art de vivre. Et pourtant, il fait bon vivre dans la Ville des Sacres. Voici un petit aperçu de la dolce vita à la rémoise.

Früher in den 90er und später waren wir immer auf dem Campingplatz in Lauterbourg. Der Badesee ist eigentlich ein Baggersee und zum Baden und Schwimmen abgegrenzt. Die Bäume entlang vor dem Sandstrand an der ausgedehnten Liegewiese sind mittlerweile so gewachsen daß sie viel Schatten spenden. Beim Besuch des Campingplatzes ist der See mit den vielen Spielgeräten dabei.
Neu und nicht dabei ist der Aquapark der Eintritt kostet.
Spezielle Inseln im Wasser und 3 verschiedenen große Rutschen mit einer Partnerrutsche sind dabei.
Zum Esen und Trinken gibt es direkt neben der Anmeldung eine Gelegenheit, sogar mit Terrasse.
Und vom Badesee aus, der Eintritt kostet, kann man rückseitig an dem Gebäude auch was Essen und Trinken. Da coronabedingt noch die Imbißbuden auf der linken Seite geschlossen haben, trübt das Badevergnügnen überhaupt nicht. Diese öffnen Ende Juli.
Was der See,bzw das Gelände für viele bietet, ist das Platzangebot. Auf der großen Wiese kann man auch im Schatten relaxen, denn direkt am Wasser ist Trubel.
Und auf der linken Seite hinten am See sind die Wassersportäktivitäten.
Angebliedert ist die neue Beach Bar, das echtes Strandfeeling bietet.
An schönen sonnigen Tagen ist an dem See sehr viel los.
