Ecuador is one of the most diverse countries in the world though it's comparably tiny. Beside the Galapagos Islands (which is the #1 tourist destination in Ecuador) the country has a lot more to offer, therefore I focussed on La Sierra in this video which is a paradise for landscape lovers and outdoor adventurers.
Another reason to visit the Andean region is that you have the chance to dive into the local culture and get a real feeling of Ecuador. The places to see in Ecuador I focussed on in this short video are the result of my own travels along the center from north to south and are easily doable in 2 weeks time.

5 Tasty Reasons to Love CAYAMBE Ecuador | Ecuadorian Food
Cayambe Ecuador is in the heart of dairy country, driving through is the sweet smell of rose farms and lots of bizcocho signs.
If you stop in in Bizcochos San Pedro between 8-10am you can learn how to make bizcochos. However, we arrived at 3pm for almuerzo and ate some of the local Ecuadorian foods in the Imbabura Province.

Starting with the Hacienda Zuleta and the colorful market of Otavalo I explore the Imbabura Province where I also get to hike part of the trail running along the picturesque crater lake of Cuicocha.
One of the most popular things to do is visiting the actualy equator aka Mitad del Mundo - here I decided to go to the lesser known monument of the Inca Sundial near Cayambe.
Finishing with some hiking at the Cayambe-Coca Ecological Reserve and the hot springs at the Termas de Papallacta I leave Ecuador with loads of cool memories!

Parque Nacional Cayambe-Coca | Parte 6 de Ecuador
El Parque Nacional Cayambe-Coca es uno de los parques nacionales más impresionantes en Ecuador. Es tan grande que incluye partes de cuatro provincias: Pichincha, Imbabura, Napo, y Sucumbios. En este vídeo, entramos por el Punto de Control Guamaní en Napo y caminamos hasta Laguna Parcacocha por el Sendero Agua y Vida. También, el video incluye vistas hasta el Volcán Antisana y el Volcán Cayambe. Terminamos el día en aguas termales cerca al parque.

Cayambe-Coca National Park is one of the most impressive national parks in Ecuador. It is so big that it spans four provinces: Pichincha, Imbabura, Napo, and Sucumbios. In this video, we enter the park through the access point called Guamani in the province of Napo, and we hike to the Parcacocha Lagoon by way of the trail Agua y Vida. It was a clear day, and you can see all the way to the Antisana Volcano and the Cayambe Volcano in the video. We ended the day at some hot springs near the park.

Ecuador Road Trip (EP42) | Cayambe
Cayambe se encuentra a unos 20 km al este del pueblo del mismo nombre, con sus 5.790 metros, este volcán es la tercera cumbre más alta del Ecuador. El Cayambe forma parte de la cordillera Central del norte (también llamada Cordillera Real), que incluye otros importantes nevados, como el Cotopaxi.
La cordillera Central es uno de los cordones principales que rodea la hoya de Quito, la capital de Ecuador. A 4600m de altura se encuentra el refugio Ruales-Oleas-Berge, accesible en vehículo 4x4 por un camino que normalmente está en malas condiciones. El refugio fue lamado así tras la muerte por avalancha de tres andinistas (dos ecuatorianos y un francés), accidente que ha alimentado la fama de peligroso del Cayambe.
Sin embargo, pese a la gran cantidad de grietas que se pueden encontrar, el Cayambe no es más peligroso que otros volcanes cercanos, como el Cotopaxi o el Antisana. Desde el refugio se puede contemplar y acceder fácilmente al Glaciar Hermoso, lugar ideal para realizar prácticas de andinismo.
